Well he was our starting C until the COVID stuff took him out at the end of 2021. A hilariously inequitable rule that caused us to lose our starting C but allowed Masoli to play.

That’s a good point about officially backing him up. They must be planning on easing him in.

I don’t think you would. SAM is more of an extra DB but the WIL requires a guy to be a big part of the run stop. You see what happens when OL get to the next level on undersized WILs and it isn’t good.

Nobody is expecting him to be a candidate for DMOP anyway - but he has had a productive career and a good player in this league. As has really been the only point made towards signing him - at this point we need somebody. His risk is low outside of pay. We know what we are going to get.

We need more than a warm body at this point. We have nobody - and one of our starters has had trouble staying healthy. Having no DEs on the PR is a fail right now.

Where we are depth wise (currently nobody) I’m ready to pull the trigger.

I have a feeling Hansen isn’t playing football this year.

The real work over the Bye is to fix the PR. Said it before - didn’t want to do it- but I’d be trying to bring Lemon in as well.

Take away the pass protection aspect which could be the result of several things. The run blocking looked like dog **** last game.

Both Eli and Dobson should be able to slide in without a bye week IMO. They know what they’re doing and have been around/played regularly.

I don’t see roster mismanagement being the critical component of any loss so far this year. I think that lets our players and play calling off the hook too easily. I do agree that I don’t understand why half our PR is here.

Poor play has definitely been the main factor. I think delaying change on the OL is now into “poor roster management” territory. We have guys there to sub in - they aren’t pulling the trigger. This week- with this LB group, I’m not sure why we wouldn’t put Cole in. Hopefully Mauro plays great - I’m not anti-Mauro, but I hope this is because Mauro is clearly better at this point. We have seen players who look like they should be great and don’t flash when given a chance.

Right now they are a better team - but I am more worried about what this team looks like at the end of the year. FTR - I may have disagreed that they were better. I don’t think I called anyone stupid for thinking it.

I never hope they lose.

I’m not sure he has lost a step necessarily- but he isn’t playing to the level we have come to expect. I totally agree about going for big hits over good tackling/wrapping up.

One of the things we need to turn around is Alexander playing like Alexander. He has not looked like his old self. I’m not sure what the reason is - but he isn’t around the ball like he used to be.

Times like these - even the best contributors around here can get a little frustrated. I check in much less regularly because I know they are speaking out of frustration but it does fire me up 😂 I think all this adversity will lead to us being at our best come the playoffs. Mid season 2019 people were piling dirt and m this team. I don’t care where we finish - just want to get into the playoffs and be firing at top form. Things will sort themselves out from there.
