the novelty could wear off fast if they killed off Roseanne, I mean they tried doing two and a half men without Charlie Sheen and novelty wore off fast. Replacements don't always work someone on tvline thought they should rename the show "Roseanne's family" and just have Sandy Duncan replace her...if she was still alive (last time I checked yes she is but I don't think she's acted in years)
