Receivers seem to get away with that a lot. If a defender pushed off in a similar way and picked off the ball it would be called PI.

I don't know any of the specifics but I'm thinking it would have to be a really nasty toe injury to greatly limit his effectiveness as a receiver given the painkillers and shots available to players these days.

I actually looked that up earlier today (last playoff win in Calgary) and I thought I must have missed something as 1965 is such a long time ago. Thanks for confirming my findings.

Bombers building momentum. Keep it going!!

Lapo keeps running the same crappy plays that never worked in the regular season either. Why not call some of the plays that worked or make up some damn new ones? I hate watching the same failing plays over and over.

Yep, and probably an ejection and further discipline from the league under the narrative that the league must protect the Qbs.

True, but if you blitz BLM, he will burn you every time.

Like a hot knife through butter.

No worries. Lapo is saving all the good plays for the second half this time.

Lapo has the ability to come out with a great offensive strategy and solid plays after a week of study and prep. When the execution is there, they often get an early lead. However, it's his in-game adjustments and play calls, mainly in the second half, where he falters. He just doesn't seem to be able to counter to what the opposing defence is doing as the game progresses.

Nice effort by Banks for the touchdown.

Banjo Bowl - GAME DAY THREAD
Starman115 replied to Eternal optimist's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Was going to say the same. Black still has a few good moments now and then, but yesterday some of his descriptions were cringe-worthy. Not sure why he seems to have so much trouble with the yardage. I rarely notice that with other PBP announcers. A couple weeks back, there was the Edmonton field goal right down main street... but wide. And yesterday Ryan was supposedly angling his punt toward the sideline, yet it was caught smack dab between the hash marks. Maybe an eye exam is in order. -
Banjo Bowl - GAME DAY THREAD

Ryan angled the punt to dead center of the field? Rod Black having major eyesight issues today. -
In the three decades that I've been watching CFL, I can't think of a single year where I felt the officiating was decent. Often it's been brutal. A lot of fans have just come to accept this, and say that in the end it all balances, out but I'm not so sure of that.

I can't remember the last time I saw Osh working the officials as much as he has today.

That's PI??
