  1. There is definitely a lot this team needs to work on, from both sides of the ball. Up to week 11, our D has given up the most first downs in the league and 2nd last for net offence against, this needs to change, just as much as the need for us to score more touchdowns. The one thing our offence has done really well is we are second in the league for fewest 2 and outs but we are third last in first down production. Also second last for TD drive %.

I think we still need more playmakers on offence, I miss Adams a lot but it would have been nice if one of our new import receivers showed a little bit more. We can't expect our receivers to have to dive out and make insane catches all the time, but we do need them to make those catches from time to time if we want to win. Nichols has done well enough a 70.7 completion percentage, gets first downs and like others have said drives the ball when it is most needed. Having said that we need to work on getting that ball in the endzone, personally i think if we had a bigger receiver it would help a bit more in that aspect. We still have a lot of games to go, let's see how this team does down the stretch.

  2. I always enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries. They are tasty and the price is comparable to sitting down at a restaurant.

As for the rest of the gameday experience. Maybe it is because I am older and don't care to watch them anymore, but Buzz and Boomer are not as good as they were in the 90's early 2000s. Would actually love to see more replays on the jumbotrons and not another advert. The tailgate outside has been a great idea. Hell bring back the hotdog cannons. Was there some hotdog related incident that they stopped doing this?

  3. The DB's looked pretty good last night, they are in tough this year due to the new rule changes. DL needs to get more pressure, not sure if this is lack of talent or the riders just have a good OL, except I thought Clark looked shaky at times. I have more faith in Richie turning this D around then Etch ever could. And the defense made stops at the end when it mattered most.

  4. CFL refs are back here at practice today.

    Neufeld, Dile still no helmets.

Practicing special teams and onside kicks right now.

Moore and Kohlert back practicing today.

Addison Richards practicing for second straight day.

Chungh practicing snaps to the QB. Maybe as an emergency centre??

Robert Marve just made fun of Graig Newman for going to the bathroom in the middle of team drills.

Sounds like headline news, someone get Wiecek and Friesen on it.

  5. We've quickly gone from one end of the spectrum to the other re: Richards. I'm still sitting in the middle with "I have no clue" and will wait and see how he grows. Glad he showed something in RC...

Agreed, I was happy with the pick at draft time and I am glad he showed up for RC but I want to see how he does in main camp and pre-season games. Initial impressions look good though.

  6. Love both teams, have season tickets for both and their schedules conveniently work well together. (Really need a double header this year, afternoon Bomber game, followed by Jets at night).

But honestly if you are comparing Jets fans to Rider fans...... give your head a shake. First off go to any Rider game and see how the fans treat opposing teams fans. Go to a Jets game and see the difference. Albeit comparing game experiences from football to hockey is a bit hard but you can at least see how the fans treat each other. Secondly, Jets fans do not say that we will win it every year. Most fans are realistic about our chances. Are there good reasons to be excited about our future? Hell yes there is. If someone from TO or Vancouver or whatever wants to cheer for us as their second team, good for them, I don't really care. Thirdly you will not have Jets fans telling you that our fanbase is the sole reason, as to why, the NHL still exists. Are we passionate, yes, are we going to treat the other teams like ****, yes (just the same as when opposing teams come to play the Bombers) are we loud and in your face about our devotion to our team 24/7 365 days a year, no. We would have to go a long way to consider ourselves even close to what the Rider fans have done and how they think of themselves.

Anyways, diehard for both teams. I love go to Bomber games and hearing the stadium get so ******* loud you can't hear the person next to you, the feeling of a defensive stand at the end of the game or the elation of game winning field goal, And I love the feeling of holding 2-1 lead going into the third (during the stretch run to get in), where I am shaking in my seat, seeing big hits and big goals at big times. Its hard to compare the two games really, all I can say is I love both experiences and I never want them to change.

  7. Stafford - Scheifele - Wheeler

    Ladd - Little - Perreault

    Ehlers - Lowry - Frolik

    Stempniak - O'Dell - Thorburn

O'Dell depends on if he gets signed and if Copp signs this summer. Copp might be able to make the jump. Not a for sure but a possibility.

If Stafford and/or Frolik don't sign, put Burmistrov somewhere in that lineup. If they both sign with term, then say goodbye to Burmi this summer, unless he wants to sign for < 1.5 mill, then put him at the 4C.

    Enstrom - Myers

    Chiarot - Byfuglien

    Morrissey - Trouba

This is what I wish but likely Stuart will be in there over Chiarot or Morrissey depending on how well Morrissey shows at camp this year.

Hutchinson and Pavelec to start the year. Hellebuyck will hopefully be given a decent chance though.

I wonder though, if Pavs plays well to end the year and playoffs, could we trade him for something and then let Hutch and Hellebuyck take the reins. Kind of a gamble to go in with a sophomore and a rookie but i think that would look nice.

  8.

Topic over now. Annonymous goofball? Lol. You are naive if you think the papers would tell you about guys going to rehab.

A player going into rehab, i believe, is subject to the NHL's substance abuse program and thus would very likely be well known to the public since I think they have to apply for reinstatement.  You're naive to think otherwise.  Yeah right, Trouba wasn't hurt.  He was in rehab.  lol

This isn't true, a quick google search of nhl/nhlpa substance abuse and behavioural health program and the only name that comes up is Jordan Tootoo in 2010. Even though Mike Ribeiro went into rehab after last season, but no one found out about it until recently and I wouldn't be surprised if other players have used it as well. What you said only applies to performance enhancing drugs as per the 2005 CBA.

Anyways I'm done and time to move on.

Last night's game was hard on the nerves, I was shaking in my seat from the third period on. If we don't make the playoffs this year, I am going to be in such a foul mood until bomber season starts. Myer > Bogo. Bogo could hit and skate in a straight line. Watching Myers is something else. The way he skates and makes plays is incredible.
