The TV Thread

Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

Anyone else into this?

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

House of Cards was tremendous.

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

Perry never loses a case tho so no surprises.

What if he defends a killer that DID it but he's so good he gets him off.  Maybe the suspense is in what really happened.  Im a sucker for true crime shows AND period shows AND premium content dramas AND the team that did Sopranos, Boardwalk etc...so sign me up!

Reading up on the story which no one else did apparently :) Perry is a P.I. in this, not a lawyer.

Right, its the beginning of his career when he's a poor PI trying to make a go of it.   I assume the series will show his advancement into law.

okay I don't have a link but you can check your dvrs, now for those of you that have the Action channel at the end of the month, it will be rebranded as the Adult Swim Network, which will air shows from Cartoon Network and Teletoon's late night block (which means farewell Teletoon at Night) I had to let my dad know this because he watches King of the Hill on Teletoon at night and I didn't want him to get confused

So this basically means that both Teletoon and Cartoon network will be doing family friendly programming 24/7 as of the 31st (though to me Teletoon hasn't been watchable since 2015, and Cartoon network had come 18 years to late)

Ohhhhh I had seen a few rumors but I actually have the last three episodes on the PVR to watch...(we're watching the entire GoT's series right now).  I was going to wait until the finale next week and watch them all together.

I'm making my way through season 1 but I've slowed down lots. I'm hoping I can get re-energized for it before the end of season 1 and onto season 2. Not quite sure where they're going with it.

Not true. In the original series he lost ONE case to DA Hamilton Burger.

But he won it back in part 2.

When it will be available in Canada is my question.

Early 2020, maybe?

With Fox now in the fold, they should have lots of content. What rights do they have already sold for Canada though?
