3 stars plus HH

1 Mo, the tackle on 3rd and inches to save the game. That after coming back from a serious knee injury. A great return on a fg miss, and a big pick.

2 Dressler. Couple great catches, and that huge run around in the end zone giving up the saftey to kill nearly all of the game time.

3. Fogg. Some great punt returns, giving us key field position late in the game. A couple big tackles in the flats one on one too.

HH. The crazy direct snap to kohlert, toss to nichols for a td. What a play.

  • I agree with everyone's HHs but another named I'd like to throw out was jake thomas.  The kid had a great game.  He was right in the middle of a few plays that resulted in loss of yards

The media was reporting that the Edmonton starting job was an open competition back in 2013.

Man, Nichols was snakebit in Edmonton -- concussion in 2012, gruesome ankle break later that year, blows out his ACL in 2013, then he's out of favour with Chris Jones in 2015.  Nice to see a guy put the bad luck behind him.

I seem to recall that back before his leg injuries, Nichols had some serious wheels on him, he could get downfield in a hurry.

That competition was a farce, Mike Reilly was Hervey's guy(rightfully so in hindsight) and was always going to get that job regardless of how Nichols played.

Just getting to rewatch the game now and my HH goes to D for the convoy they set up for Leggett on his first quarter pick. On that single play, he gets great blocks from Randle, Burnett, Loffler, Heath, Westerman, Cole, and Shologan.  Just love watching this team rally.

Our guys know how to flip from D to O in a hummingbird heartbeat, we're getting lots of practice running those picks back.
