  1. I honestly would have no issue with them starting 8 9 10 canadians if that's what they decided to do, I mean, i don't think they would start 8 or 9 or 10 if they didn't have too, imo, they(coaches/management) want to win and if starting 8 Canadians means we have a better chance at winning, then so be it. Maybe those starting 8 Canadians or whatever, maybe they are actually better than the americans that were brought in? Nobody ever thinks of that really... Rules are rules and you must start 7 Canadians, If you can start more, it just means that 8th canadian starter is probably better than the american alternative.
  2. I've watched lots of football over the year, CFL, some NFL, even some NCAA and CIS for that matter... the one common theme i see with receivers in every form of american/canadian football? They all drop easy catches at times, even Calvin Johnson.
  3. 4 pages about michael sam, Jesus, let's pretend he wasn't gay... still 4 pages? Could care less if he's gay or not... the real question should be.. is he good enough to make the ALS? i'm honestly leaning towards no cuz i think he's very very out of shape. I'd be surprised if he makes the team, the other part of me says he makes it for Public relations purposes tho, it's too bad really cuz if he wasn't gay, there wouldn't be 4 pages about the guy, he would just be just another training camp guy for the ALS... I guess, people talk about discrimination and stuff, well what if SAM makes the als and a player who is actually better than him and showed more than he did, doesn't? Discrimination too no? Does this guy have an advantage because he is gay?
  4. I think it's just one blogger getting worked up, i enjoy reading that blog but at times, the blogger does tend to think every idea or blog post he makes MUST HAPPEN... I mean really, a couple weeks ago it was IF GROULX IS TAKEN FIRST, BOMBER MUST TRADE DOWN.. now it's BOMBERS MUST RETIRE NUMBERS!! What's next really... who knows but what i do know is that whatever the blogger thinks of next, well... in his opinion, it MUST happen.
  5. Ignorance? Lol more like reality. 2010 2011 2012 1st overall. Lockout shortened 2013 7th. 2014 3rd. 2015 1st. 4 number 1 picks in 6 years. All 6 years in the top 7. Ya just the coach. Not gonna argue with oiler fans who think they are close when reality is they suck big time. Ignorance? Lol.
  6. Just curious. If the oilers are awful this season will it be the coach or maybe the players fault? They haven't been good in a long time. Always picking top 6. More like top well first overall really. Will it be the coaches fault again?
  7. Yak can score but like lots of oilers can't play D. That's the biggest issue there. Most are very talent in the o zone but in their own zone not so much
  8. I could see a sign and trade scenario with Burmistrov. I see him being dealt as a piece in a bigger deal. For example buff plus a signed burmi
  9. Concessions and rent I'd imagine at the very least.
  10. Guess we will see what happens with a new coach and gm... Not sure if it makes that big of a difference. we will see what they add or who they try to trade for... don't think they will get much if they aren't willing to give up much.
  11. Babcock by about 45 million.
  12. I think it's more like if Edmonton fans want legit help on D, those untouchables will need to be moved. It's cool, i really have no interest in any Edmonton player, Eberle would be the guy i would want but i wouldn't give up a top 4 d man for him unless that guy was Buff and i doubt the Oilers do that so really it's a moot point.
  13. Morley had a good career and is a strong member of the winnipeg community. He likes it here, his family does too. He's a winnipeger now lol.
  14. Interesting to say the least... I suppose Technically it's Tannenbaum and Bell who own the argos but since Bell owns TSN, well.... it's an odd situation.
  15. I think, actually judging by a recent poll or survey i know there are lots of football fans in southern ontario. I don't live there, i have never been but from the outside looking in, I'm not sure the argos were ever really a problem, i think more so Rogers screwing them around was a problem. Lets be honest here, Who wants to go to skydump to watch a football game, it's horrible for it, it's horrible for baseball even apparently so obviously it would be bad for the argos, then you throw in the fact that rogers never gave them any favorable home dates, tuesdays? what the heck is this.. who wants to go see a football game on a tuesday? You know outside of maybe WPG, SASK and probably Edmonton, i bet every other team would have a hard time selling a tuesday night game too, Rogers screwed the argos big time, Rogers Center is a gong show. It made things worse for the argos, the worst thing the argos ever did was moving in to that dome. They drew quite well when they played outdoors and they will again.
  16. Future looks bright indeed Let's recap the past couple of months for Jets prospects.... Top WHL playoff scorer (Petan). Top WHL defenseman in points/game (at least 7 games) (Morrissey). Top QMJHL scorer (Ehlers). Top QMJHL defenseman scorer (Kostalek). Top WHC goalie (GAA, save%) (Hellebuyck).
  17. Also don't forget about the dark Mike Kelly year.... ugh completely destroyed our team... That was many years ago now, Kelly might have done some damage to the team but... Mack had a chance to fix it and didn't. Kelly had 1 year, Mack had what? 3.. this is walters what? 2nd? And for as much heat as this may get, I think Mike Kelly was quite misunderstood, yup he told it like it was, fans and media didn't like that but... reality is, if he was given 3 years like Mack was, my guess, the team is better off now than it was under Mack canadian depth wise at least... Can talk about Mike Kelly messing up all you want but his main man was John Murphy who is now in Calgary with Huff, Murphy knows his stuff, the 'database' was legit, just never got more than a year to see what it could do.
  18. It won't be with the Jets tho.
  19. Yup was posted earlier by someone, This is pretty crazy actually, at least 2 other teams bid a first round pick in 2016 for Waggoner.. Tells me the kid has some skills. Like this move by Walters lots actually. Our Canadian depth has improved vastly since Walters took over, it's really crazy to think where we were under Joe Mack even Canadian depth wise to now... Night and Day for real.
  20. I agree Ducky but will say that... it depends what happens b4 July 1st or even after July 1st (That's Free Agent Frenzy day). If we lose Frolik,Stafford,Stempniak and a few others, you could see a couple of those guys get bumped up. Maybe we see a trade involving Buff, who knows what that would return really. There are lots of variables at play here really.. got a long ways to go still. Lets assume we lose all 3 for the purposes of this post... Ladd,Little, Wheeler Ehlers,Scheif,Perreault Petan,Lowry,?? ??, Copp,Thorbs Myers,Toby Trouba,Stu ??, Chiarot/Morrissey Those question marks could be a couple of those guys you mentioned up top (Lipon is made for the 4th line but so is 210 pound Brendan Lemieux) Let's say Buff gets moved... a few of those ?? would probably be filled in with the return we get for Buff. It's really too early to say but i think for the most part your list is correct and bang on... Armia is another guy who might start in the A too or he could be on the main roster too, who knows.. Lots of time really... so much time really.. too much time really right now to say for sure, it's all just a guessing game really, and that's cool but... really, give it another month and a half and we will know more and be able to piece together a more accurate roster for the 2015/16 seasons for both Jets and Moose. There have also been rumors out there linking Mike Reilly, LHD man from Team USA world championship team to the Jets also, also linking him to the blackhawks and wild too but... That's another variable.. Kids a good player, probably would make the Jets team right away, he's that good. He's also a LHD which we lack really... Toby,Stu,Chiarot,Morrissey isn't all that great.. Put Reilly in there and bump Stu down to the 3rd pair and Chiarot as the 7th d man and Morrissey in the A and who knows...
  21. If you think Chevy would trade Myers who he just got who is on a darn good contract, who fits the youth and age of the team, you are crazy. It won't happen. Myers isn't being traded, it just won't happen. Of all the guys who would be traded, Myers,Trouba are untouchables to the JETS because they are players they actually got themselves, one via trade, one via draft... 2 young big Right Handed D men, the right side of the D will be solid for many years to come with those 2 plus you got a young Jan Kostalek who is looking damn good in the Q right now and will be with the Moose next season. Stuart, man the guy is pretty untouchable too, it doesn't matter what the fans think about stuart, it matters what the team thinks and they think very highly of him, he's a leader, he's a perfect example of what the young guys should be like in the community and on the ice for that matter, sacrificing himself for the team always. STU is going nowhere. That leaves Buff and Toby really as trade bait on D.. one has a no move clause and is our only legit LHD right now, one has 1 year remaining and will want big money.. it's pretty obvious who gets traded if a trade happens, it's buff, no and if's or buffs about it really. Hall isn't happening, Myers being a d man, his value is much higher than that of a forward. As much as a couple Edmonton fans may want to think, Hall isn't as valuable because quite simply he's a winger, it's pretty easy to draft and find your own wingers, if he was a center, it would be a different story but he's a winger. D men have way more value than Wingers, regardless of how good they are. I don't get this thinking they would trade buff for a guy who makes the same as him, why would they, why not just sign buff instead? Myers,Trouba,Wheeler,Scheif,Lowry, I'm gonna go ahead and put Ladd and Little in there too.. <--- untouchables. The rest are probably fair game unless they are high ranked prospects like Helle,Comrie,Kostalek even,Morrissey,Petan,Ehlers,Copp... These are the untouchables of the team really.... so in my opinion, if you are looking to move out one of the "untouchables", the return would have to be a massive overpayment on the other teams part. The Jets are a draft and develop team, they are young, they will get younger too, They are setting themselves up not just for the now but for the future too, to trade someone who will be around in 5 10 years from now over guys who will be retired in 5 years, it's not happening.
  22. Waggoner is a WIL LB for sure, size speed skill to play there. Leggett is one of the best safetys in the league, he will stay there for sure as he should.
  23. Yup, could care less too, I think this move is a good thing and i think BMO will be a great place and atmosphere.
  24. so basically TSN owns The Argos now since Bell owns TSN.
  25. Fan anger? from who? 20 people on a message board? i mean, i like this place, it's cool but if you think they are doing damage control cuz 20 people on a fan forum are complaining, c'mon man. It was on twitter for like a minute or so, i doubt hundreds of people called in and told them to shove it in a minute.
