  1. Budaj could be the guy being sent down to the AHL. With that being said though, Hutch didn't look that great in the pre-season so maybe Hutch goes down, doubt he would be claimed on waivers if a guy like Markstrom wasn't. I like this trade actually, get a couple guys and possibly a veteran backup to either 1. Push Pav or 2. Give some leadership to Helle in St Johns. I wonder though if someone is hurt a bit or banged up. Hutch maybe, i dunno but... hutch on a 2 way deal this year so... who knows. Teams rarely to never claim goalies on waivers, espeically ones that didn't look so good in the pre-season. For as bad as maybe some of us wanted Hutch to be the man to push Pav, judging from the pre-season, hutch probably needs a full year in st johns first. With all that said though, Budaj probably wouldn't get picked up on waivers too so they could send him down also. The fact Chevy got anything for Tangradi is a pretty crazy thing but when you really think about it.. It was probably Tangradi for Holland with Budaj thrown in as a cap dump. Probably means he's headed to St Johns.
  2. petan ehlers morrissey sent back to junior. Kind of surprised about Morrissey as i thought he played better than clitsome and pardy. Ellerby,Chiarot,Holland sent to St Johns.
  3. http://amfootball.isport.com/amfootball-guides/characteristics-of-a-good-football-coach O'shea has all of those.. What he seems to be lacking tho is overall talent on the field, depth and a fan base that doesn't really know what they want. Last years coach throws players under the bus, people hate it, this years doesn't, people hate it. I have an idea there Gbill... Why not call in to the radio show on Monday and question his leadership. You call every week pretty much but you seemingly kiss his ass all the time, just like last week you were kissing kuales ass on twitter.. I see your tweets dude, last week you basically said kuale made up for everything he has done this season because he had a pretty damn good game. This week, going after the guy, not really sure what you want week to week eh?
  4. Jets actually looked pretty damn good tonight vs the Flames, pretty much dominated them. We should have 3 very good lines actually, perreault is such a under the radar free agent signing, he's going to do very good things with us. That Kane Scheif Wheeler line is as legit as any number 1 line in the league and ladd little and whoever they play on the right side is pretty good too. Kept the shots down this entire pre-season so the defense first approach seems to be working, most the other teams shots have come on the power play. Pav looks much better than last season too, better rebound control and positioning it seems. This team could make some noise this season. Interesting to note that during the game on walrus and odor or lawless and order or whatever they call it, lawless stated the Jets were in the hunt for Nick Leddy from Chicago, ultimately got traded to NYI, apparently the Jets didn't want to give up one of Helle or Comrie so that's why they didn't trade for Leddy. Chicago wanted one of those 2 in return plus a few other prospects not mentioned, Jets said no thanks. Apparently right in on it until the end though. Isles offered up the goalie prospect, Jets weren't willing to part. Leddy would have looked good here though. Minnesota boy on a good contract for this season and still an RFA after this season. Another interesting note there is Helle had his first start for St Johns the other night and got a shut-out.
  5. Very true.
  6. REILLY with the TD, 20-14 argos. Reilly keeps doing that though and he's gonna get injured for sure.
  7. Hey, did John White have a big game last week vs SASK? cuz i'm not sure, black only repeats it every time white touches the ball.
  8. I agree. looked like both Kuale and the ORB player went for the hit, kuale won. Thats why he was flagged. My guess if Kuale was the one that went down instead of the ORB player that the ORB would have got the UR call. Didn't like that call. But the one on Hank was definitely a dumb play.
  9. waters is money, the guy is the best all around kicker in the league.
  10. That was iffy for sure, looked pretty good to me, but who knows. Pretty sure when they say "not enough evidence to over turn the call on the field" it pretty much means we arent willing to admit we screwed up. 14-7. Lawrence with the TD. looked like he stepped out of bounds.
  11. 14-0. 2 td catches for Owens.
  12. So if he hits FA lets not try at all? Typical fail attitude. Apparently you're not alone. Pie-in the-sky is thinking this team gets better if we stay with the personnel we have. Pretty sure if he hits free agency, we will try and try hard. I just think most people here are under the impression that guys like that won't make it to free agency because they are too important to their teams, Might they? sure and if they do, i'm pretty sure all of us on here would say Go after them all but i think the reality is that guys like that rarely to never make it to free agency. Don't think anybody is saying don't try, just think most are saying, we won't have the ability to try cuz those guys will be signed well before free agency hits.
  13. Man, it's early but TO is dominating.
  14. Yeah but thats ignoring the wind and the fact that after the game O'shea said that in warmups lirims range in to the wind was at the 40, we were at the 40 roughly, wouldn't have been a 40 yarder, would have been a 45-48 yarder really, not sure that field goal is made, to be honest, not sure it even makes it to the endzone, I don't like the idea of saying yeah but a fg, well, what if they go for the fg, miss and ottawa runs it back for a td, that's just as likely in that situation. And regardless, the D still needs to make a stop, make some tackles, something they couldn't do last night. That play in the big picture was irrelevant, lose by 22, not 7 or less
  15. 7-0 Toronto early in the game.
  16. I don't know if they are guilty of over-estimating our current talent, i'm just not sure they have any other options, gotta think if they had other options, guys like richardson and pall wouldn't be on the field. Think it's a depth issue and that particular one is a canadian depth issue, something we all knew would be a problem this year, especially when guys like lucas and newman got hurt b4 the real bullets started flying.
  17. A few days ago I was posting just how bad a DC Etch is & how I want him gone. He was being defended by more than a few here saying that his defense saved games for us & kept us in others. It wasn't the defense, the posters said that was a problem. It was the offense. Well, we travel to Ottawa lose embarrassingly to the worst team in the CFL & a couple of our major problems was the inability to tackle & stop the run which has been the way it's been defensively all season. I want Etch gone but I'm getting the impression that MOS will stubbornly go down with his coaches before he fires any of them so we're stuck with this guy for the long term. The offense scored 13 points last night...that's not enough to win. No but Ottawa also was shredding the defense last night pretty consistently, weird stat, time of possession almost dead even. Just that Ottawa took advantage of some pretty sloppy tackling all night long and really some pretty crazy whacky defensive formations, not sure why we were playing so soft defensively last night, like no pressure on hank all night and seemingly giving Ottawas receivers a few yards of cushion, almost like the d plan was to let Ottawa catch the ball. It was an odd defensive performance last night. Only has happened once before this game really, vs Edmonton where they totally forgot how to tackle.
  18. and to the surprise of absolutely nobody, tangradi cleared waivers and has been sent to St Johns.
  19. Have to agree with this particular one for sure, when i saw 9 games on the line there i thought Interesting, this should be interesting but then i noticed they were all leaning towards the one side, leaving the other side completely exposed, sure enough Ottawa saw it and ran a reverse of some kind to the side of the field where the guys weren't leaning, big gain. No chance to really stop it, Guess leggett did have a chance there and leggett is a pretty good tackler most times but one miss and that guy was gone for a big one.
  20. It's october, free agency doesn't start until February, This article would make more sense if it was Feb 14th not Oct 4th. Lots of time to go.
  21. Yeah the crazy thing in all of this, if BC loses tonight vs Hamilton, i think it's very likely they lose, we are still only one game behind them with one game to play against them, Think our season comes down to what we do vs BC really... Starting to look that way, if we keep losing and BC keeps losing and we beat BC, man we pretty much get in ahead of them. What really sucks though is last night was a huge game, it was as close to must win as you can get without it actually being a must win game, by that i mean our season didn't end last night because of the loss so it wasn't actually a must win, it was just a must win because, if bc loses tonight, we would have been tied with them at 7-7, but the part that sucks is our guys completely **** the bed, totally didn't show up at all, from the first real play of the game onward. I think whoever wins that game later in the year, bc at winnipeg, they are the team that gets in. I mean if our guys can't get up for a game like last nights, i dunno what to think anymore. Guess i'll just say i predicted they would have about 8 wins, thought 8-10 was likely, wasn't sure if it would be enough to make the playoffs but... right now, it's looking like 8-10 may get you in. we need 2 more wins. Need to beat BC for sure. That's the one game that actually means something for real. THey all mean something but... that one game remaining against BC, if we win that one, which right now after last nights debacle seems unlikely but if we can manage to beat BC, who really knows what happens.
  22. Perhaps you can blame ETCH a wee bit, since it's pretty apparent some of the guys on the field shouldn't be on the field. Our guys do seem smaller than other teams defensive players, I like our DB's, they are all very good, I like Turner on the DL but he needs some help, The rest tho? Way too small, they honestly look like smurfs out there compared to other teams. So perhaps you can blame ETCH for the inability to tackle since he apparently likes to go with the smaller quicker guys instead of the normal sized guys who can tackle. See when you think about it, we got 7 DB's on the field, the 4 actual db's, the safety and 2 linebackers in dunn and sherman. I get that most teams like to play a converted DB at one of the linebacking spots but 2? That is an etch problem there for sure.
  23. Paredes also missed 3 fgs so that game last night was closer than it actually should have been.
  24. Gonna guess we beat Edmonton next week. Seems to me after a very crappy performance from the D, they come back strong the next week. Hopefully wild is good to go too, that would help a bit. Doubt we beat Calgary but if Cornish is hurt, Calgary isn't the same.
