  1. Good point, we have witnessed how having a poor performance by the backup QB's effects the entire teams play negatively and yet the D has survived the entire season with a mediocre MLB and has performed adequately. The D and Hurl have been improving steadily while the O has struggled mightily with and without Willy. If the vote is for a difference maker I would have to side with Nichols. If he can eek out a .500 record in the remainder of his starts this season, he will have fulfilled my expectations of a backup QB.
  2. I agree, that call was questionable as was the Smith being tagged by a leg when Bucknor recovered. I wish they would just simplify the rule so that if a knee, elbow or ass is in contact with the ground than the play is dead. Disallow this getting back up and running nonsense.
  3. If Wpg. shows Nichols some love, I'd bet he'd be happy to re-sign here. He has to look at his realistic chances of landing a starting position in the CFL and appreciate that there aren't many opportunities out there for a QB with his record and injury history. Honestly can't see any team investing in him as their number one at this point. What's Burris' status for 2016? If he shows well for us this month OTT will show him the money. By the time Burris is done there will be better options than Nichols. If the RB's are smart they're already shopping
  4. I never said the STs were good. k nobody is calling it a masterpiece.. or that it should save his job even... what we are saying is that with a legit QB it is functional and capable of producing points and yards.. couple with a stingy defense and error free ST.. 2 outta 3 aint bad. That's taking it too far, Lirim and Stoudermire are becoming the "usual suspects" in regard to ST errors. Stoudermire looked better on his returns tonight but he fumbled the ball on hits at least twice. ... Hence 2 outta 3.. Our offense was good today and defense was stingy.. STs, while improved continued to be an issue even if its only down to two specific targets.. I never said the STs were good. Sorry, misinterpreted your intent.

  6. I don't think the running game worked out as well as planned but at least they stuck with the run tonight throughout the game so that is encouraging. On second thought that probably had more to do with never being behind by more than 7.

  8. Really. If this game doesn't get the American punter on the roster and Stoudermire off of it, I'm not sure what Hajrullahu and Stoudermire have to show in terms of negative play to get sat/lose the punting job. Hajrullahu's miscues around punting are costing us points every game. No kidding, it looked like Lirim was going to be the difference maker again tonight. Don't think he can handle both jobs consistently so time to make him focus on the job he does the best and let somebody else handle the punting.
  9. Brings back the never ending question, is it Brohm or Marcel? Can't it be both? Brings back the never ending question, is it Brohm or Marcel? Can't it be both? Sure, and we will know for sure once they're both sent on their way. I think a number of posters had it right last week when they said Sask. did not respect Brohm's ability to find a receiver more than 5 yards down field and they took advantage of that. Everybody knows that Brohm has a decent arm but unfortunately he has zero confidence in his abilities. Likewise everybody knows that Nichols is going to throw the occasional interception but he has the confidence to keep throwing the ball downfield and does not get easily discouraged much like Joey Elliot. In doing so he exposed Sask, D for what they really are, the very worst in the league.

  11. I believe the direct snap to Briggs on the punt fake was an O'Shea twist that we wouldn't have seen previously under.....whatever his name was. **** Tracey .....no, it wasn't **** Tracey but it was something like that... WTF! You can't mention a guys name as in "**** Nixon" but you can use WTF???

  13. How about they offer Nichols a "Kevin Glenn" type contract, with a low base but incentives for starting. I don't think Glenn has ever come out of a season on the short end payment wise and with the Bombers poor history of QB protection, Nichols may end up starting half the games.
  14. It's been a long, long wait but I think Nichols is the reliable backup QB the Bombers have been waiting for. His game was far from perfect but he showed enough intelligence and understanding of the system in one short week than any other QB has shown in many years.
  15. Thought you knew this, the RB has to stop to ask the QB which way to go....sheesh.
  16. A little white pill that makes my John Thomas stiff as a bloody board??? You don't say....dear old Mildred is going to be shocked and appalled when I charge through the door in my jack boots with my sail flying at full mast!!!
  17. Under "when will they learn", Chad Kakert continues to play like a cannonball, which is fine but cannonballs are made of steel. Can't see him lasting this season either.
  18. Great game in T.O. tonight, fun to watch for a change. Hamilton wins again but at least it was close.
  19. It's a communist conspiracy to silence my Underwood No. 5 and take away my X-Ray Gogs. Not going to happen.
  20. This just in, they're now selling beer in cans! Just carry a can opener on your key-chain and you're good to go!
  21. Pffft,,..that name will never catch on.
  22. Madani has never met a rumour he wouldn't spread. It's not that he's unreliable, it's that any little rumour he hears gets put out there no matter how strong it is. Kind of like a fart in that way.
  23. Not really sure but I think I'll order myself another piece of that delicious Red Velvet Cake while we wait to find out, pretty sure it has nothing to do with old-timey wrastlin...
  24. Good job on the scoop. News moves slow down at the Sals.
  25. If I'm not mistaken I believe this is the 4th time a Bomber QB has been injured this season on a questionable hit that went un-penalized by the officials. Twice they have later confessed that they got the call wrong and fined the offending player. On the Marve hit they used a ridiculous technicality to nullify a dangerous low hit. The refs. have no clue when it comes to enforcing the "spirit" of the rule, which is to protect QB's from harm. Can't recall who it was but last weekend a QB took a helmet to the chin and was checking for missing teeth, while the official looking on did nothing. With each passing week the games seem to be getting worse as we witness inexperienced 2nd and 3rd string QB's compete at futility. At some point this epidemic of QB injuries is going to harm the leagues bottom line and maybe then they will take it seriously.
