  1. What's the penalty for exceeding the operations cap? Might be nothing more than a slap on the wrist, could be Miller decided retaining Buck was worth the price of the penalty, and upped him just enough to convince him to stay. The team was already at the top of the cap, so there wasn't any loose change to throw Buck's way.
  2. As a bold first step in their resurrection, Mace will bring in former Argo protege, the misbegotten and misunderstood hoodlum Chris Edwards. He shall be their Ejiro Kuale!
  3. Looks like Buck couldn't convince his wife to upend their comfortable lives and move to Shitbush. He owes her one.
  4. Exit interviews yes, player evaluations won't be done until they get together with the entire coaching staff in the next few weeks.
  5. I figured Milanovich would be more interested in the GM position than a HC job under O'Day, Riders blew it again!
  6. Not according to Walters, everything has been put on hold till Buck's future has been decided.
  7. Makes sense that LaPo might be the first person Buck calls, if he doesn't want to be the OC. If LaPo has any sense of self-preservation left, he chooses the Bomber OC job over the Riders.
  8. Not once have I ever heard a player praise Walters or Miller, O'Shea built the locker room culture that is now self-sustaining, and that includes keeping it free of of doosh-bag players with the FIFO motto. He knew the type of players he wanted and Walters went out and found them and has acknowledged that in the past. Of course it's a management team effort and all 3 have done their specific jobs well, but the player culture has been built by O'Shea alone.
  9. His pre-programmed players blurt it out quite often, O'Shea's presence definitely influenced players such as Harris, Bighill, Mike Miller and and Collaros choosing to come to Wpg., and the locker room culture he's built has kept many from leaving.
  10. O'Shea explained in his final press conference, it wasn't fair, but if they included all the players names on the roster the Grey Cup would probably be twice the size it is. I can see them digitizing this information in the near future, scan a barcode and get the full picture for any specific year.
  11. Good to see they brought back some late cuts from TC last season that impressed in pre-season. Also excited to see Ontaria Wilson brought back, his game film looks spectacular against high caliber opponents. The Blue Bombers also signed American receivers Bryce Mitchell and Ontaria Wilson as well as American defensive linemen Nate Givhan and Jamal Woods. Mitchell made 70 receptions for 1,297 yards and 11 touchdowns over 52 games at the University of Toledo. The six-foot-three, 210-pound target was named second-team All-MAC in 2019 after leading the Rockets in receiving yards. Wilson made 108 catches for 1,521 yards and 12 touchdowns over 51 games at Florida State University. The native of Ashburn, Ga. also recorded seven carries for 57 yards and one touchdown along the ground. Givhan spent a portion of the 2023 season on Winnipeg’s practice roster, though he didn’t dress for any regular season games. The six-foot-two, 239-pound edge rusher made 97 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception over 47 collegiate games at the University of Toledo. Woods made 78 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three pass knockdowns, and one forced fumble over 49 collegiate games at the University of Illinois. The six-foot-two, 290-pound interior defender went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Winnipeg has also brought back four Canadian players who were selected in the 2023 CFL Draft, including running back Jonathan Rosery, defensive lineman Collin Kornelson, linebacker Max Charbonneau, and defensive back Bret MacDougall. Rosery, who also plays slotback, led the Alberta Golden Bears in receiving yardage this past season, making 32 catches for 440 yards and three touchdowns. The five-foot-eight, 199-pound native of Edmonton was taken in the seventh round. Kornelson made 17 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery playing along the interior of the defensive line for the Manitoba Bisons. The fifth-round pick missed three of the club’s games due to injury. Charbonneau won the President’s Award as the outstanding stand-up defensive player in the OUA this past year while playing for the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The eighth-round pick made 62 total tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick. MacDougall made 30.5 total tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery this past season with the Windsor Lancers. The sixth-round pick helped the club win a home playoff game for the first time since 1975.
  12. You're giving Ford Kramdi's job based on the one game of pro football he's played in his career?
  13. With one year contracts now the norm, those decisions are usually made during the off-season, two players they decided to move on from are Darvin Adams and Nick Taylor. Similarly the decision to move on from Lawrence and Darby has probably already been made.
  14. Exactly, unless these guys were considering finding work outside the CFL there weren't a lot of opportunities available. No turnover in GM ranks this season but could be a few next year if teams don't show improvement.
  15. Anyone know if Bomber Bob Cameron had his own line of football helmets made by Cooper Weeks? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1003118184095180/ https://www.ebay.ca/itm/225739946196 Maybe the name is just a coincidence, as they look quite primitive.
  16. Bombers like spread out signing announcements throughout the off-season to keep fan engagement somewhat alive.
  17. Coach Mike O'Shea and the end of the season media conference. https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/11/27/coach-oshea-end-of-season-media-availability/
  18. Not in Sask. they'll start to tear the barn down before they get around to cladding it. They're most comfortable being miserable and unhappy.
  19. The only thing I could see motivating them to make the leap is a drastic increase in pay for position promotion, they could both potentially double their salaries.
  20. The same could have been said about Collaros at the end of the 2017 season before the Ti-Cats traded him to Sask., most people thought he was on the decline and already washed up. He has cracks but has managed to patch himself back together mentally and physically and play at a high level multiple times over his career.
  21. It'll thrill you to know Rider fans are in an orgasmic tizzy over Buck becoming HC and bringing Younger and Dru Brown along with him.
  22. I would assume they're spending to the limits of both caps, if not, it's on Murray Edwards for chintzing out and Huff for going along with it.
  23. Stamps have just as many coaches as any other team and the same budget, it's Dickenson's choice how he fills those positions.
  24. There's only been one firing around the league so far, that's usually the event that triggers personnel movement, limited openings, limited movement. The management cap "handcuff" has forced stability on all organizations and has given each management team time to work through their plans and prove they know what they're doing...or not. "Wasn't given enough time to implement our plan" is no longer a valid excuse.
