  1. Probably too late now, but whatever happened to trading good assets when the cupboard is full? Kola could be a starter on many teams, and Walters could have received some well needed assets in return, like perhaps an under-used Natl. DE.
  2. Hard to get much done from his new home in Hamilton, not all neighborhoods have internet or phone lines.
  3. Maybe Harris was thinking he would use the Raiders job as a stepping stone to a professional career and didn't expect to have any pro coaching opportunities come his way this quickly. I believe he still has a number of businesses that provide semi-passive income, so the Jr. coaching job would have been a part time gig.
  4. Dane Evans has the tools to be a top 5 CFL QB, if he could get over the mental hurdles of crumbling under pressure.
  5. Every CFL team is looking at the same economic model, not sure any of them would think it's a great idea to invest that much of their cap in a Natl. RB, I think the bidding would peter out before it reached $200k.
  6. Mills has more power at 225 lbs., he'd be a better fit than Logan who is more of a quick scat back and returner, weighing in under 200 lbs..
  7. I don't know, the only angle I can see Walters taking that would reduce Lawler's salary, is pointing out the immigration fiasco that kept him on the sidelines for 6 games reduced his value to the team. He did play well when he played, and Walters offered him the big contract and he accepted, so unless Walters wants to look bad chiseling some back, I think he sticks with the initial agreement. Kenny might be willing to drop $20k to keep Schoen around, but he's probably not going to accept a $40k cut in pay to do so.
  8. They should be able to fit Brady in if Walters accepts he'll probably lose Schoen once the bidding for his services goes beyond $200k. Not that Schoen isn't worth it, but they can't keep everyone and attrition of select players to free agency is an accepted reality of running a top team filled with league allstars.
  9. What's the risk with MBT? He's tough as nails and knows how to win games given decent targets and a good running game.
  10. Ted Laurent is available and with age his price might have come down.
  11. Dunrobin's Gone (named after the East Kildonan Ave.) which Chad wrote and sang on is always high on my playlist. We're somewhat related as he was my Aunt's sister's son, real name Allan Kowbel, only met him once at a wedding around 1974, unfortunately I was too young to realize his musical connections at the time.
  12. This interview should bring a little sunshine your way. https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/12/05/willie-jefferson-re-signing-media-december-5-2023/ I'd love to get one of those off-center wide brim hats Willie is sporting, but just know I'd look goofy as hell wearing it.
  13. I think it's past time for them to do so, cutting Masoli would free up enough working capital to move on. Bob Dyce has one more year to get that team on the right track.
  14. Ottawa may also see MBT as more of a known quantity than Dru Brown. They really have to decide what they're doing with Masoli before they chart their future course. Does his injury prevent them from cutting him until he's healthy or can they part ways whenever they choose?
  15. I'm surprised both Sask. and Hamilton are allowing their new HC's to double dip by taking on a coordinator job as well, ties more salary up in one individual while playing one man short on the coaching staff . Mace especially is taking a big leap into the unknown as he's never been a HC before.
  16. Lot's of D-line players available in FA, I'd prefer Argo Natl. Robbie Smith to Kongbo, he makes **** happen. Defensive linemen Sam Acheampong, Edmonton Elks (N) Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund, Calgary Stampeders (N) Brandon Barlow, Toronto Argonauts (A) Mason Bennett, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (N) Mathieu Betts, B.C. Lions (N) Miles Brown, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Malik Carney, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A) Bryce Carter, Ottawa Redblacks (A) DeMarcus Christmas, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Charbel Dabire, Saskatchewan Roughriders (N) Ja’Gared Davis, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A) Jamal Davis II, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A) Tibo Debaillie, B.C. Lions (G) Vincent Desjardins, Montreal Alouettes (N) Avery Ellis, Montreal Alouettes (A) Elliot Graham, Calgary Stampeders (N) Thiadric Hansen, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (G) Dewayne Hendrix, Toronto Argonauts (A) Julian Howsare, Calgary Stampeders (A) Jackson Jeffcoat, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Willie Jefferson, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Micah Johnson, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Anthony Lanier II, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Ted Laurent, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (N) Cameron Lawson, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (N) Shawn Lemon, Montreal Alouettes (A) A.C. Leonard, Edmonton Elks (A) Benoit Marion, Toronto Argonauts (N) Lorenzo Mauldin IV, Ottawa Redblacks (A) Terrell McClain, Calgary Stampeders (A) Mike Moore, Calgary Stampeders (A) Cole Nelson, Edmonton Elks (N) Shawn Oakman, Toronto Argonauts (A) Pete Robertson, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Nigel Romick, Ottawa Redblacks (N) Mike Rose, Calgary Stampeders (A) Daniel Ross, Edmonton Elks (A) Sione Teuhema, B.C. Lions (A) Jake Thomas, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (N) Nick Usher, B.C. Lions (A) Michael Wakefield, Ottawa Redblacks (A) Ricky Walker, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Derek Wiggan, Calgary Stampeders (N) Dylan Wynn, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A)
  17. I thought maybe the final play of the game could be considered a turnover, not sure how they classified that play.
  18. With the Bombers recent struggles to do so, I'd like to see how they fit all these hats under the admin. cap. Sounds like Steinauer should have been outright fired, but being a favourite son they found a nook for him to sit in so he could still receive a paycheque and participate. The Ti-Cats find ways to cheat the ops. cap. almost every year.
  19. Merv Walker was also a CFL official at one time, not sure why he gave that up.
  20. Ed Hervey.....wow, that guy is sneaky good at getting jobs. Gives Kavis Reed some hope.
  21. Yah he wasn't a favourite, I think the only reason he was on the field was the ratio at that time was bigger and tougher to fill out, him and DB Merv Walker were usually good for a couple of gaffes every game.
  22. You keep mentioning 3 turnovers, I recall one fumble and one interception, what was the other?
  23. Mark McDonald was another Cdn. receiver that played for the Bombers mid-70's, he was recently inducted into the BC Football Hall of Fame as an amateur player and a high-school coach. https://www.bcfootballhalloffame.com/mark-mcdonald/
