  1. So how do you feel about Trudeau as a financial manager then? Serious question - I apologize if you've already commented on that here.
  2. Maybe you did forget then - the whole coalition fiasco was supposed to be have been because they were horrified that the Conservatives weren't doing nearly enough "stimulus spending" during the recession. Eventually the Conservatives did increase their spending as a result of that, but not NEARLY to the level that all the other parties were demanding. Which is why it's been so ridiculous listening to people rip them for their deficits for the past couple years. If those same people had their way, the deficits would have been way bigger. I mean, just look at the first Liberal budget. Yikes. Of course, we all know the real reason for the coalition was because they removed the per-vote subsidy. The only thing that could actually unite the left against the conservatives was, of course, a threat to the parties' free taxpayer money.
  3. Who needs marijuana for anything? Other than sick people who can already get it legally.
  4. Much debate about the second amendment actually. It's scary to see the ease at which people get guns and have someone not believe it's a problem. I think the biggest issue with gun reform is that no one on the right trusts the left with any further restrictions on gun ownership, because they ultimately want to take it as far as they can and ban gun ownership altogether. And that has historically been disastrous. The US was founded on and has far greater roots with total liberty, so there are more people concerned and protective about that. It's actually similar to the abortion issue, just reversed. The left fights any restrictions at all on abortion, even to the point of allowing obviously heinous things like "partial-birth abortion" because they think the right will take that inch and then try to go all the way to a total abortion ban. (and of course they're right, abortion should be totally illegal) Also, I'm pretty sure the gun show loophole is a myth. Maybe it was true a decade ago (although I doubt it, if Michael Moore supposedly exposed it), but it sure isn't now. As for legalizing pot - I just can't figure out why we are making it more and more difficult to smoke cigarettes legally and simultaneously trying to legalize pot.
  5. To me that all sounds great. Not a fan of legalizing pot. What would be scary about being "pro gun". That means he just supports the already-existing 2nd amendment. It's not like he's trying to flood the streets with more guns in criminals hands. I guess if I made my living killing unborn babies I would be scared of someone like him. But those people should be scared, they're evil.
  6. Why? I think he would easily be the best for the job.
  7. I hate to break it to you but she obviously changed her name after that date.
  8. I've been using a Roku (1 i think?) for a couple months. Seems to work great for me. It's quicker and easier to navigate than the painfully laggy apps you get with the smart blu-ray player I have. Picture quality seems good to me too. It's connected by wifi, and doesn't even have a way to put put a cord in it, but haven't had any problems on Netflix. Use it for NHL Gamecentre too, and it will buffer sometimes when you turn a game on at the beginning, but then is fine.
  9. We hear comments like this so often, I'm wondering how exactly the Riders are going to find room in their front office for the hundreds of retired players they've apparently promised a lifetime gig to. Or maybe you mean he'll be able to live off a lifetime supply of paninis from Regina Tim Hortons?
  10. I mean that the city cheated, and aren't being held accountable.
  11. Cool. I guess this means if I get caught now for cheating on my taxes LAST year I'm off the hook.
  12. Well no, people on the no-fly list already can buy a gun. Many don't support changing that because the no-fly list they have now is chock full of names put on there by mistake. And I mean chock full. Plus it's a secret list that the government can just add you to for any reason they feel like. So you're not exactly getting due process before the government goes ahead and denies you the right to bear arms. It's interesting how people lost their mind when Trump suggested keeping out Muslim immigrants, yet think it's a great idea to deny thousands of Muslim American citizens (because the list I'm sure is mostly Muslims) their constitutionally protected rights with no due process whatsoever.
  13. Just look at it scientifically. Who are the people that are the most concerned about climate change? The left. And what's their track record? So far they've been wrong about nearly everything. Not to mention they have a tendency to try using any "crisis" to expand government size and control over people's lives. What are the chances that in this one case they are not wrong and doing what they always do? Not very good.
  14. So you were unhappy with his promise to "save home mail delivery" during the election? Speaking for myself, yes, I thought it was an idiotic promise. Most of his promises were idiotic in my opinion. You won't see me complaining if he breaks every promise he made.
  15. WHEN WILL TRUDEAU DO SOMETHING ABOUT HOME MILK DELIVERY???? Hey, at least we have our provincial NDPs enacting new laws every year to prevent us from the insidious evils of gift card expiry dates.
  16. Pretty much everything in the constitution was designed to prevent government over-reach. That's also the whole reason they fought a war and formed their own country.
  17. THANK GOODNESS. Finally someone doing something about an important issues that matters to Canadians!!! Just kidding. I'm pretty sure we've had community boxes out here in Steinbach/rural Manitoba for decades. Seems like not many old people have died getting their mail yet.
  18. Regarding the founding fathers, they wanted the citizens armed to be able to prevent the government from getting out of control. If anything the founding fathers intended people today to have even more powerful weapons. It's not really a fair fight anymore.
  19. The New York Times should publish their front page editorial on the need to stop Muslim terrorists any day now...
  20. Probably because he comes across a higher percentage of angry Muslims than angry "fat white people". And wow, nice to see the PC Police falling over themselves here to defend the honour of the poor Muslims from about the lightest criticism you can get.
  21. There's another key difference: a "Christian" killing a bunch of people is exactly opposite of what a Christian is called to do, despite what people who don't read, care about, or understand the Bible like to say. While Muslims killing infidels are actually following what their Koran tells them to do, and indeed emulating what their prophet, Muhammed, did.
  22. How is it irrelevant when the vast majority of the killing is being done by just one of the types of people you listed there? That's like saying "Muslim, Jewish, Christian... irrelevant. People love eating bacon." Why such a strong desire to keep your head in the sand?
  23. You could do that, and then I could post some paragraphs about how you have a terrible misunderstanding of Christianity (and the Bible). But what would be the point? It's still just Muslim terrorists killing everyone. Can't you see that?
  24. So Muslim terrorists are killing people by the dozens all over the Western world, and the left is.... mad about Christian praying? Newsflash: you already won that one, there are fewer people praying in the West than ever. Maybe if you really want something to change MORE people should try praying about it.
  25. I'm also wondering if all the lefties that were so furious and anxious for politicians to "do something" about these shootings yesterday are OK with maybe slowing down the mass importing of the actual people doing the killing. Or if they're just interested in stricter gun laws, like what France has (and California).
