I would bet not. Dominion Voting Systems fires back with legal action against Sidney Powell Dominion Voting Systems is now taking steps toward legal action against Sidney Powell. Dominion and its voting machines have been at the center of several conspiracy theories and falsehoods surrounding the 2020 presidential election. Although President Donald Trump initially spread misinformation about mail-in voting, he and his allies began circulating falsehoods targeting Dominion voting machines as election results proved favorable for Biden. Since then, Dominion Voting Systems claims it has been subjected to a "'relentless and reckless disinformation' campaign, led by Powell, Rudy Giuliani, other allies of President Donald Trump, and Trump himself," according to Law & Crime. The election technology company Smartmatic has also released a similar demand letter seeking a retraction from Powell. On multiple occasions, she has insisted the company has ties to Dominion. Powell also claimed conspiracy insisting a ploy to rig the election was funded by "communist money." "The Dominion Voting Systems, the Smartmatic technology software, and the software that goes in other computerized voting systems here as well, not just Dominion, were created in Venezuela at the direction of Hugo Chavez to make sure he never lost an election after one constitutional referendum came out the way he did not want it to come out," Powell claimed. Meet the Dangerous QAnon Figure Doing Whatever It Takes to Win Trump's Approval On Monday night, President Donald Trump retweeted a message posted by Ron Watkins. Watkins, who for years has been running the site where QAnon lives, has been indirectly boosted by Trump before, but Monday night’s retweet marks the culmination of a rapid ascent for a man who has become the right wing’s go-to conspiracy theorist in the wake of President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory last month. As the administrator of 8kun — previously known as 8chan — Watkins is seen by many experts as being instrumental in the perpetuation of the QAnon cult, a movement that has destroyed families and led to real-world violence, including murder. But in the last month, Watkins has sought to step out of the shadow of QAnon and forge his own identity as a star witness willing to say whatever it takes to win the approval of Trumpworld. On Election Day last month, Q, the anonymous persona behind the QAnon cult, posted a generic update including a quote from Abraham Lincoln and a short message: “Together we win.” On the same day, Watkins announced that he was stepping down as administrator of 8kun, the fringe message board when Q posts their updates. When asked why he was stepping down, Watkins at the time told VICE News that he “fell in love with woodworking and plan on focusing all my efforts into mastering it. Also want to finish a book I’m writing about constitutional law.” And while Watkins has made some references to woodworking in his public tweets since the election, the vast majority of his posts show him positioning himself as something of a conspiracy whisperer to the growing ranks of right-wing figures and groups that have aligned themselves with Trump and his outlandish and baseless claims of election fraud. Watkins, who now lives in Japan, has tweeted incessantly during the last six weeks, jumping from one conspiracy theory to the next. Trump in denial: Report says he told aides he wouldn't leave the White House on Inauguration Day An extensive CNN report Wednesday revealed that President Donald Trump has thought about staging a sit-in and refusing to leave the White House during President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration. In most presidencies, the handoff is part of a peaceful transfer of power where the outgoing president attends the day's festivities while a SWAT-team-like moving crew helps White House staff pack everything of the first families and brings in the incoming president's things, so it feels like home. Trump, who continues to maintain he won the 2020 election, has told aides that he will not leave the White House on January 20.\ "In his moments of deepest denial," CNN reported, "Trump has told some advisers that he will refuse to leave the White House on Inauguration Day, only to be walked down from that ledge." While Trump may pretend he's going to stay in the White House, that wouldn't go well for him. As of noon on Inauguration Day, Secret Service would probably shoo the president out.

Humpf. Haven't you heard that Biden single-handedly corrupted the recent election?

Trump Lashes Out After Mitch McConnell Congratulates Biden: 'Too Soon To Give Up' "Republican party must finally learn to fight," Trump tweeted, one day after the Senate majority leader finally acknowledged Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' win. President Donald Trump called out Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in a frenzied tweet on Wednesday, one day after the Senate majority leader finally acknowledged the victory of President-elect Joe Biden in the Nov. 3 election. In his tweet, Trump shared a report from The Daily Mail detailing how some of his supporters — like former aide Sebastian Gorka and right-wing broadcaster Nick Fuentes — criticized McConnell for congratulating Biden. The president stressed that he had received 75 million votes, said it was “too soon to give up” and added that the “Republican Party must finally learn to fight.” Trump actually received about 74.2 million votes, with Biden surpassing him to hit 81.2 million. Trump has alleged without evidence that many of these votes were “fraudulently or illegally obtained.” (Awww....Moscow Mitch and Donald Dumpster aren't best buds any more. Another rodent tries to save his credibility.)

'Jail them': Shock as emails reveal Trump appointee’s 'monstrous' call to spread COVID-19 in America According to a new report from POLITICO, a former top Trump appointee urged for health officials to adopt a "herd immunity" approach to the coronavirus pandemic, allowing for millions of people to be infected. "There is no other way, we need to establish herd, and it only comes about allowing the non-high risk groups expose themselves to the virus. PERIOD," then-science adviser Paul Alexander wrote on July 4 to his boss, Health and Human Services assistant secretary for public affairs Michael Caputo, and six other senior officials. "Infants, kids, teens, young people, young adults, middle aged with no conditions etc. have zero to little risk….so we use them to develop herd…we want them infected…" he added. The news sparked a wave of outrage from President Trump's critics on Twitter.

Barring a coaching meltdown in Montreal, I expect Vernon Adams to elevate his game. He has too many abilities and too good an attitude to fail.

But the exile will not be the fault of O'Toole, the party or their barely-concealed intolerance. It will be the fault of a media who just does not understand them- apart from The Sun papers and Ezra Levant, that is.

Laroquette had drank himself out of a career prior to being cast in Night Court and a sitcom about an off-hours bus depot manager. The character in the latter was in recovery and it played a large part in the writing- right up to Laroquette's character's sponsor (played by David Stills) committing suicide. In one of the episodes, a hooker was involved in an existential conversation about whether there was a God. Her response, when asked if she believed in God, was. " Well. I hear His name a lot." Hilarious.

Nothing new here. Sarnia, Ontario in the 50's and 60's was referred to as "chemical valley" due to the high number of refineries and chemical plants. The number of kids that contracted COPD (formerly known as asthma ) was 10-20 times higher than the national average and rare cancers appeared there as well. My wife grew up there and suffers from it as well as frequent bouts of bronchitis and even pneumonia. She has also had two occurrences of cancer, which she has beaten, thank God. We all cannot live up upstream.

It may have been political hot air, but during the last election, the Liberals promised to begin the process of providing high-speed internet to remote communities. No doubt that the horrendous expenses associated with the pandemic has kiboshed that.

Trump can, and probably will, pardon this turkey, but it ought to be possible for the USPS to civilly sue him for non-performance of his duties and thereby taking his salary under false pretenses.

We seem to be holding at this level, which is not good enough. At this level, the chances of an individual becoming a "super-spreader" as happened in Steinbach are just too great.

Friends live in St. Andrews, just north of the airport there. They were paying for high-speed service but it was barely better than dialup. They complained repeatedly but eventually Bell/MTS told them that it was just too expensive to provide real highspeed service to them, and if they did not stop complaining, they would be cut off. They went to a dish service.

When I was living in Saskatchewan in the early-mid 80's. Sasktel embarked on a massive expansion of fiber optical cables to serve almost every community of any size. There was a lot of wailing from the PCs about how unnecessary and expensive this was. In hindsight, it was a very smart move.

Ex-Houston police captain accused of violent attempt to prove election fraud was hired by GOP activist group By Erin Douglas, The Texas Tribune Dec. 15, 2020 "Former Houston police captain accused of violent attempt to prove election conspiracy was hired by GOP activist's group" was first published by The Texas Tribune, a nonprofit, nonpartisan media organization that informs Texans — and engages with them — about public policy, politics, government and statewide issues. HOUSTON — A former Houston police captain was arrested after allegedly running a man off the road and threatening him at gunpoint — what prosecutors say was part of an elaborate attempt to find evidence for a false conspiracy theory of widespread voter fraud in Harris County. Mark Aguirre was working on behalf of a powerful Republican megadonor's group to investigate unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud when, in October, he allegedly pulled a gun on a man described by the Harris County district attorney's office as an “innocent and ordinary" air conditioner repairman. Aguirre was arrested Tuesday, according to the Harris County district attorney's office. Prosecutors say Aguirre's election fraud claims were baseless and that he was paid $266,400 by the group Liberty Center for God and Country, whose CEO is prominent Texas right-wing activist Steven Hotze. Hotze was among a group of Republicans who unsuccessfully sued to have nearly 127,000 Harris County ballots tossed out this year. He was also among Republicans who tried — and failed — to stop Gov. Greg Abbott from extending early voting during the coronavirus pandemic, a suit for which Aguirre had provided an affidavit, stating that he was involved in an investigation into a “wide-ranging and fraudulent ballot harvesting scheme" in Harris County.

Russian Media Mourn as Putin Acknowledges Biden’s Win—But Say Trump ‘Burned’ U.S. on His Way Out “He is discrediting the American electoral system,” crowed one Russian TV host even as Putin acknowledged Biden’s win. On Tuesday, the Kremlin finally acknowledged that U.S. President Donald J. Trump has been defeated by President-elect Joe Biden, by sending an official congratulatory message to the incoming American president. Russian state media immediately noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin was the last leader of the G20 to recognize Biden’s indisputable victory. Russian state TV hosts, pundits and lawmakers were also quick to point out the unusually dry language of Putin’s greetings, noting that—unlike his prior telegrams to Trump and Obama—Putin didn’t express any hope that U.S.-Russia relations might improve in the near future. “There are no hopes expressed in Putin’s letter to Biden, none whatsoever,” noted Olga Skabeeva, the co-host of Russia’s state TV program 60 Minutes. She added: “We’re disappointed in Americans.” Describing American president as “our candidate Trump,” “our friend Donald,” “our Grandpa” and “poor, poor Trump,” Kremlin-controlled state TV shows conceded that Trump’s days in the Oval Office are numbered. While the doom and gloom in Russian state media inevitably surrounded most discussions acknowledging Trump’s electoral defeat, pundits and experts celebrated the bright side of their favored candidate’s four-year reign. “Mission accomplished,” rejoiced Karen Shakhnazarov, CEO of Mosfilm Studio and an ever-present pundit on Russian state TV news talk shows. Appearing on state TV program The Evening with Vladimir Soloviev, Shakhnazarov opined that Trump’s mission was to destroy the political system of the United States, and he successfully did exactly that. Melania Trump Does the Unthinkable and Removes Her Mask at Children’s Hospital -REUTERS During a holiday visit to the Children’s National Hospital on Tuesday, first lady Melania Trump prepared to read a story to children by first removing her face mask. The hospital policy says anyone who enters the hospital must wear a mask “at all times,” according to CNN. This was the first lady’s fourth annual visit to the hospital. Normally she reads to a packed room full of children and their families, but this year only two children were present in-person and the event was broadcast across hospital televisions. Masked staff were also present. Trump kept her face mask off the entire time she read, although she did social distance and had her mask on for a bingo drawing afterwards. The hospital and first lady haven’t returned requests for comment. President Trump and Melania Trump both tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this year, and according to Dr. Anthony Fauci, their antibodies should still be present. Guidance does not differentiate between those with antibodies and those without when it comes to mask wearing. “I’m thinking of you all,” Melania Trump told the children during the event. “Stay strong and well and Merry Christmas and happy holidays.”
