A lawyer friend once told me something that applies to right-wing politics and seems particularly apt with the looming elections in Manitoba and Alberta. She was told that there are two ways to approach trying a case in court: If you have a sound case, you "pound the law". If you do not, you "pound the table". The right-wingers are so bereft of any cogent policies for governing that all they have left is to try to inflame their base by flailing away with grotesque attacks on anyone or anything they think might resonate with the fears and hatreds of their flock. All we can do is vote with our consciences and hope some of the undecided voters will become revulsed with the Cons' policies and utterances and throw the miscreants out.

Cue the accusations, counter-accusations and lawsuit threats.

I was hoping to see better of Adams- sounded good on paper but was meh when he was on the field. He should have been better, but he wasn't. Onwards. This does not bode well for Rose. -
The media is also complicit in this by not calling out the racism, homophobia, fascism, gynophobia and intolerance when these rear their ugly heads. What's worse, is that these cretins are a symptom of a creeping disease that seems to be taking over at least Alberta politics but is also present in many other parts of Canada. The federal liberal party is trying to come to grips about how to stop this without infringing on freedom of speech. A tough call.

Bernier, like several other Canadian politicians, are copying the Trumpian model of trying to gain power by appealing to the mouth-breathers. Fools, one and all, who get laughed at behind closed doors by those who they support.

She has also been bedridden, but no one is talking about that.

Galbraith was deemed to be a dangerous radical and was actually investigated by the FBI in the 70's.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: House Republicans 'plan to punish' FBI and DOJ United States Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) told right-wing Real America's Voice host Steve Bannon on Monday that Republicans in Congress plan to "punish" the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice for supposedly covering up corruption committed by President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Burchett "confirmed GOP officials still could not 'track down' the key witness as of Monday morning, telling FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo that the federal agencies such as the FBI and DOJ have 'turned a blind eye' to both the missing informant and the Biden family's alleged corruption," Fox News reported on Monday. "The telling thing about this is that our Federal Bureau of Investigation and our Justice Department have basically just turned a blind eye to all of this and now it's come down to the point where speaker McCarthy has to have a one-on-one meeting with Director Wray over the way that they've handled this and bungled this thing from the start," Burchett said on Mornings with Maria. "They went after George Santos and, as I said, he's relatively small potatoes, yet, when you have over ten million reasons to look at this White House and is going on – corruption and influence peddling – they even have a report that they issued apparently, but they are not very forthcoming with it as well." https://www.alternet.org/marjorie-taylor-greene-gop-punish/

This sort of forced intervention is on the books already in all provinces. If someone poses an imminent danger to self or others, in the opinion of a peace officer or physician, they can be held for several days in closed custody for observation and assessment. This has to be reviewed in court to ensure this provision is not being abused.

Giuliani said he was 'selling pardons for $2 million, which he and Trump would split': ex-associate complaint Noelle Dunphy, a former associate of Rudy Giuliani, is suing the onetime Donald Trump attorney over a litany of misconduct, including sexual assault, harassment and wage theft, ABC News reports. Dunphy joined Giuliani’s team in 2019 as his director of business development. In a 70-page complaint filed with the New York Supreme Court, Dunphy recalls “alcohol-drenched rants that included sexist, racist, and antisemitic remarks, which made the work environment unbearable,” and noted many of the former New York City mayor’s diatribes were recorded. The complaint alleges that in Feburary 2019, “Giuliani forced Ms. Dunphy to have sexual intercourse with him for the first time” after she “had refused and avoided having sex with Giuliani.” The former associate also claims Giuliani asked her “if she knew anyone in need of a pardon,” because he and Trump were “selling pardons for $2 million.” Per page 25 of the complaint: He also asked Ms. Dunphy if she knew anyone in need of a pardon, telling her that he was selling pardons for $2 million, which he and President Trump would split. He told Ms. Dunphy that she could refer individuals seeking pardons to him, so long as they did not go through “the normal channels” of the Office of the Pardon Attorney, because correspondence going to that office would be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. According to Dunphy’s lawsuit, Giuliani declined to register his communications with Ukrainian government officials under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). When pressed by Dunphy on the matter, “Giuliani told her that he was able to break the laws because, he said: ‘I have immunity,’” the complaint claims. The lawsuit seeks $10 million in damages.

Of course! Just look at how MTS/Bell improved after Filmon privatized it- even though he "promised" the Cons would not.
