  1. globals are on their own payscale, and yes make less
  2. Yeah...it does all add up....and if BO wants 150k more which is ridiculous and puts him over 250k which will never ever happen...anywhere u walk away and run with a first yr import for dirt cheap and his and JA' s salaries alone go a looong way to resigning who we feel is vital
  3. Or actually build a team...he's been provided a team his whole career..can you say Claybrooks...this could be Claybrooks 2.0
  4. Would not be sad to see Houston go...or sign for bigger bucks up here elsewhere...take him right out of the equation and no worries that Osh will roster him over someone else more deserving..hopefully that happens in a few other positions too..take the choice right out of his hands
  5. And KSB is not a smooth receiver...or even an adequate route runner...he's getting a look based on exact same thing as Lenius...body type...and that's it...
  6. Nice to see someone else sees the flaws ...all the good traits aside..they are glaring impactful flaws that need to be addressed from someone above him...who is his boss to have them corrected...
  7. That's some bizarre take on things...Mace too has been provided with top level talent as a coordinator and assistant...he not getting that there
  8. what if no team offers him 400k plus....if he getting first time starter money...as he is still largely unproven and gets a first yr 200 and change deal...maybe pushing 300....then really is that a smart move....develop and prove yourself some more at close to that money...and get your dollars up He has shown flashes ...in a system he knows, but no way am I hitching a wagon to him at 400k+ where u will have to roster an unproven backup....and then he struggles mightily. Can't see any smart G.M doing that...and its a very limited market as to where he could even go this yr. like I mentioned....he has a limited market to choose from...and making the wrong choice could ruin him...or any immediate future big payday....Thats also what ZC and others have been telling him....move on....if....it's the right opportunity and environment
  9. ohyeah...they still important especially if a real stud is in draft....but not as vital as it was
  10. yeah the onus now isnt as extreme now with a LT....it's still important...both ae...but games has changed where the QB doesn't need that super elite LT now
  11. exactly...ZC was up and down a bit this yr, but so was the whole team....and at QB experience reigns supreme, and is key in going anywhere....Theres no way we move on from him this yr...this team is still set up to more than likely return to the Grey Cup again, and a few minor tweaks with personnel and coaching should again put us on top...I think lessons have been learned in 2022/23.... 2025 is a different beast and should really be of no consequence right now....done right with the transition phase in 2024/2025 we shouldn't skip a beat...barring any unforeseen catastrophic injury epedemic
  12. If he was smart he'd sign another 1 yr deal here...with some starter caveats in it...if ZC falters or goes down...why ruin your luster going into the complete unknown and possible abyss somewhere else....stay where u are comfortable and actually making strides.....one more yr wont kill his earning potential in long run.....running off and being an epic flop elsewhere will tho...Think of James Franklin...looked good in the system he grew into and was showing potential to be next big thing....moved on...fizzled out.... a lil smaller sample size than Dru as Dru has 3 yrs under his belt as opposed to 2 like Franklin...but when he left Edm he looked nothing like he was there in T.O
  13. Brown is somewhat proven with the exact same oline...exact same group of receivers (for most part) the exact same coaches and environment his whole career...and basically the exact same system his whole time in the CFL ...he has proven really nothing other than at times looks pretty comfortable running the only thing he has known in the CFL...that's a big risk...especially going to a team that could be littered with unknowns and sub par talent. He's gonna get his tires kicked but a 400k and beyond contract ..is probably pretty unlikely...and hitching a teams fortunes to him..and basically having nobody behind him is a huge risk...for the team and for him I also not 100 percent sold on him as the heir apparent...or necessarily a future star ripping teams a new one game in and game out and stealing wins with his play..
  14. dunno...it's not out yet so will get back to you if I see one...but if Jackson is on it eating up a DA spot thats an epic fail if we didnt draft, or find and actual Canadian guy to fill the role via free agency or already on the roster...And if Thomas is back taking reps...another fail....Same with Kolo at center....
  15. yup! lol...I bet we deal with more stupidity next yr sadly...I think as long as Osh at helm its a given....and 2 straight Grey Cup losses....is more telling than then previous 2 wins...my opinion so feel free to flame away
  16. Why would he tho ..he wouldn't crack that starters lineup...he knows he has easy access to a starter spot here..whether earned/deserved or not
  17. Too bad we didnt Solid depth signing for teams and rotation...but if we can't do better for that position than not sure what our staff is doing other than standing pat and not striving to be our best team He's also 27 next TC so is/was that his ceiling? If so...we def can be better
  18. This yr will be a semi transition phase so that 2025 is also a semi transition phase where some hefty sms weight is shed to allow us to replenish a few spots via free agency that are immediate upgrades to augment the core. Is ZC part of that in 2025...i sure team thinks/hopes so right now..but 2025 grey cup is 40..41 games away...and a lot can happen between now and then..and interesting things/options can fall in your lap too..making some decisions easier. My only concern and will prob get a lot of backlash is MOS himself and his history and track record now of not giving team beat chance to win game in game out with whom he chooses to keep. ..and whom gets to play
  19. doesnt mean its not already done....just not publicly announced
  20. didnt even know they increased an extra game....shows how much of a **** I give about the NFL bs league
  21. removing Thomas...Briggs...Benson....Darby...Kolo....more than covers any bumps...especially with 6 game money being diverted to 2023 bonus for 2024 I could see Brown re-upping for one yr...with a pile being given this yr, and his base next not being that cumbersome, and having a per start or performance clause included
  22. they played 14 already no?...so how u get 3 games left?
  23. 2 games left...hardly a big winfall but better than a kick in knackers
  24. Some people here put too much weight into age on olineman...as long as they aren't just fat turds with zero mobility (Dan Clarks) then mid 30's isn't an issue unless they constantly in the tub. Eli wasn't signed for 3 yrs to be a back-up...The gig is his next yr and likely we dont bring Kolo back. Gray is the perfect 6th lineman as he can play all the spots, so I can see Dobson getting the legit opportunity to un-seat him. And a guy signed now doesn't guarantee a spot come June either...well shouldn't and hiopefully Oshea has learned that lesson...Maybe Neuf becomes the extra guy as he is versatile as well...I just hope this spring there is legit competition in camp and no gifts and loyalty plays this yr
