This is a chance to roster a QB4 as a developmental project - we've already decided we don't want either of those guys in that role. Russell will come in as the project and compete with Davis for reps. It's not an emergency hunt for a QB1 who knows our offense. Willy is out for a while, Brohm is just taking up a roster spot Realistically, its now Marve-Davis-Russell - I'd just feel better with a backup QB that knows the playbook Just strange that we brought in Portis - traded for him seemingly on the recommendation of Goveia(?) - and then didn't look at him in a game. Concussion, shoulder surgery, out of football for two years, pocket passer that hesitates... this is the best they could find?
