  1. Well for starters I don't know who is blaming the coach and the goalie but both deserve some blame. It's a team sport. It was the wrong decision to start Pavs. I understand why Maurice did it but the jets have very few back to backs this year. The team seems to have a delicate psyche. The fact Pavs was pulled proves it. He wasn't bad but the first goal was on him. And he looked rattled. Jets showed up just in time but too little too late. Hopefully they learn from this. They can't have some success and then get lazy.
  2. I didn't say you were irrelevant. His response to Harper was irrelevant because it was a lie. But I understand you point now.
  3. So if a fan isn't a hockey expert they aren't allowed rocks their opinion? Then why are you? Team didn't give up. That implies they were trying to begin with. They looked tired and lethargic. I wonder if their terrible back to back record messed with them. It seemed to mess with Pavs. That was a dumb coaching decision. At this point is start Huch next game too. Give Pavs a rest.
  4. Not at all. Team was awful. Stupid coaching decision to go with Pavs in back to back. I'm nkt even saying it was his fault but that first goal he was out of position. And he looked rattled after the wheeler deflection. Guys like Kane took control of this game. No points for Maurice on this one.
  5. Completely relevant to the topic. Putin was basically saying 'I'll do what I want.' lol okay. It wasn't relevant to my point. But you can "win" if You want.
  6. He's pretty smart. I just wonder. If Russia actively invaded like they did in Ukraine would Harper order the military to defend. I think he would. It would be very interesting. Didn't the Canadian military fire warning shots at Russian ships in the Maritimes a few years ago?
  7. The thing about using "most economists" is that that is Harper's area of expertise. He's an economist. Part of it os political strategy for sure. Lower taxes is easy to run on. And they've forced the liberals to essentially admit they'd raise taxes. But I don't think Harper got back into politics at the contentious time he did just to kowtow to voters. He hasn't unleashed any crazy right wing agenda either. I think he believes this is good policy. Hard to argue with too. Like you I also feel the tax cuts are less than inspired. I'd prefer lower income tax and higher sales tax. But I can't argue with him keeping his promises. And his tax cuts do benefit people that need it.
  8. I agree to an extent. I don't think we should be as militarily active as the U.S. because for one thing it's very expensive and also because he don't have to. But relying on the U.S. means we have certain responsibilities and obligations to support them reasonably. A nations sovereignty is only as strong as its ability to defend itself. Harper is smart. He knows we have to be visible in the arctic for when the time comes to exert our soverighnty over it. He's supporting NATO and our allies in the Middle East. He's standing up to Russia and he supports Israel. These are all things a peace loving nation should do. Trudeau's mindblowing comments about teaching refugees to survive winter in the mountains is proof enough he's not up to the job.
  9. He doesn't choose his headlines. His editor does. Also please point out his grammar errors.
  10. hough I agree it was no irrelevant to the topic. Putin is a POS. On one hand you never want war especially eith crazy folks with nukes. On the other hand it's awfully sad for the people of Ukraine who were hung out to dry by the rest of the world. When Russia annexes the Canadian North I hope the response from world won't just be to scold Putin. Then again it will probably Happen when the liberals are in power so Trudeau will meet Putin in the north and hug him as he annexes our land.
  11. The real media including Lawless was talking about it. That's not the issue. Man is this ever a tough crowd. Like read the thread or something. Just some speculating on what we'd want back from the Hans and Isles. Sheesh
  12. Hahahahah no no. Kane's plying just as hard as past seasons. And his remarks are just the same as last seasons. The only difference bring the off season when he went out of his way to not proclaim himself a jet.
  13. To which Putin responded "we're not in Ukraine." Yes. Which is irrelevant since its a lie.
  14. Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd comment on this here. Harper diss'ed Putin and it was great. One of the lead stories in CNN for awhile even. He said "I guess I'll shake your hand but you have to get out of Ukraine". I for one like that the Harper government has raised the profile of Canada internationally. I look at Russia and why they have done in Ukraine and I wonder how long before they do the same in the Canadian arctic. And what will our response be and what will be the response of the world.
  15. What was the profit last year? Teams a cash cow right now. More so than people suspected. They will be fine.
  16. Maybe but etch isn't paid to provide an opinion on Lawless' work.
  17. Haha Gary Lawless is a *****. Why? And your reasons can't involve "fat" or "bald".
  18. This is exactly correct. I agree. When was the last time a player olued poorly, was disgruntled and got traded? It's usually a situation where a non-contending team has a good player that they flip for value. Or a team in cap trouble. When Martin St Louis wanted out of Tampa he was hurt. That was an acrimonious thing but is there any doubt he would have played his ass off for Tampa while he was there? Kane is unique because his has a great contract. If his deal was up in a year or two the trade rumours would be more pronounced. And they will get there up until the point he signs another long term deal with the jets which I don't think he will do. I also agree Kane is smart. Which is why he knew exactly what he was doing in the off season when he made comments about being a jet "for now". He wanted a trade. I think the team told him they'd consider offers. And when they didn'tget what they wanted they sat down with Kane and worked it out. Bob Mackenzie and Lawless both suggested that was going to happen.
  19. I think the only teams that want Kane are those who would put Kane on a first line. Everyone else sees his salary and is scared off. Scared to think what putting him on a line with Crosby or Stamkos would do. Kane's a pure finisher. Stamkos would do little with him; Crosby can probably make anyone look awesome. Ideal situation for him is pairing him up with a Backstrom or Ribiero type set-up man, like Neal and Ovechkin have. Scheiffle may become that guy, he has potential to be both an all-round forward or fantastic compliment player, but I'm not sure yet which road he will take. So far it's been the former, but he's young and this line combo is too. While it's a pretty unfair comparison to make the guy I see the most resemblance in Scheiffle is Crosby. His total package skill set and how he positions his body against his opponents, that kind of thing. Of course the difference in talent level can make it hard to see. I'm guessing some will refute this strongly. Scheif definitely has top calibre smarts in how he plays. He just seems poised to break out. Realiastically, he could be a top goal scorer this year already if not for some bad puck luck.
  20. You were responding to my post that I had no doubt he asked for a trade. If you want to walk back from your position, thats cool.
  21. You clearly drew a comparison between his on-ice effort & affinity for his teammates and his desire to play in Winnipeg.
  22. I think the only teams that want Kane are those who would put Kane on a first line. Everyone else sees his salary and is scared off. Scared to think what putting him on a line with Crosby or Stamkos would do. i disagree. His contract is one of the attractive things about him.
  23. Not crazy about Clitsome or the Clitsome/Postma pairing. Pardy is stronger defensively then Clitsome. Miss Redmond. Im not sure I agree. Clitty has been good. I know Maurice said he wants to get Pardy back in but Im not sure I like him better than Clitty. I like Redmond to but he's never been the same since his accident. We definitely to improve the D over-all but as young as it is, it's promising.
