unions are going to have to accept it's a different world now. PC government and cash strapped city. The police and firefighters have been receiving large increases year over year. It's ridiculous. On a side note, my union just agreed on a new contract with increases of 1.5, 2 & 2. These 3+ per year increases would be nice

i think this is what bothers people the most. The team has seemingly quit. Why is that? This isn't like they are completely out of the playoffs, at least they weren't after their three game winning streak and yet they just seem to have given up. How can the coach not be responsible?

I actually disagree. He was all over the ice. He isn't a natural scorer but he was getting chances and creating chances. And has been since coming back. He looks to hustle out there. And either way, good for him being honest. The usual canned responses are getting old. Especially from Maurice.

And it's not that Maurice is an awful coach. Vast majority of coaches when they make it to the NHL for a period of time, they are all good. But accountability starts with the coach.
