The entire game changed when Buck threw that pick.
We were in the game...it was a game, and then in 2 plays, the game was over. Buck became Hank.
There is no doubt...Goltz should start.
-
Well, this is especially true with the master Ray at QB. He had the reads right and he recognized man coverage and had his field day out there. 19/20 for 286 yds before he limped off the field.
A heck of a performance.
-
Apparently Buck is the QB throwing breaks....because we just can't seem to catch one.
-
Yes, it's not all on the QB...but being so close in that game, with even just a little better passing by Buck (ie. accuracy)....we win that game.

Shouldn't that be Mr. Dee-Zha?

It's scary/painful to watch Pierce try to connect with Matthews.
Like trying to get satellite TV with rabbit ears. It ain't working.

Hopefully someone confiscated his towel before he left that interview.
Oh great, now there's two guys who refuse to throw in the towel.
-
Careful now...

Dare I say that if Elliott played in that game last night, we probably win....and it certainly would have been more exciting.

Goltz is not ready.
Goltz may not be deemed to be ready, but, right now we are playing a QB who is not ready to play a CFL game. Seriously.
So what's the difference?
Are you afraid of turnovers?
Missed throws?
Improper reads?
Read those three things again. That's our "experienced , best chance QB" right there.
Goltz may do those three things, but he may also scramble to avoid the rush, throw on the run, throw deep and I sincerely think he can handoff a ball.
Right now, there is no advantage playing Buck.
None.

if Goltz had thrown 4 ints and we'd lost by 20 would it have made any difference? Losses are losses. Pierce isn't doing anything to win games anymore, time to see if the next guy can.
That's what I said.

Compare Pierce and Burris tonight. Burris saw a ton of pressure and got sacked a ton of times too, but he was also able to use his legs and make throws on the run to move the chains, we don't see pierce doing that.
And that's a big difference.

No, there is no reason for Buck to continue.
What I saw out of Buck tonight, could easily have been outdone by a 2nd string QB...sad to say.
I mean, really, would Goltz have done any worse?

With any kind of quarterback, who can hit receivers in the open, and throw the ball away on an obvious blitz, or scramble, the O-line wouldn't be an issue.
No, this game is solely on Buck.
-
It really is time to sit Buck Pierce.
-
That was an auspicious debut for the young man and that transition from QB to receiver lends hope that maybe, with a little bit of Godly help, we can change one of our better receivers into a full-time QB.
Does anyone know if Doug Pierce can throw a football?

An old song for those Alouette perfrmances....
Alouette, gentille alouette....Alouette, je te plumerai.. Little skylark, lovely little skylark....Little lark, I'll pluck your feathers off.

Just remember, our defence did dominate last week, that doesn't change. They played well. Doubtful they replicate that kind of game though.
Our offence didn't play particularly well, but just enough to win. Hopefully that improves.
I Like Goltz ...

Watching that game live was unrewarding until Goltz got into the game, not because he was going to bring us back and win the game, but because, finally, he was going to get some meaningful reps.
And meaningful they were.
What he saw out there and his reaction to live bullets flying looked promising. And yes his ability to scramble was welcome. I liked that he kept seeing things downfield and was actually able to do something about them.
We're 1-3, looking at 1-4.
This is the time to make the switch in QBs.
