[MERGED] WPG vs. BC - Battles to Watch
Bigblue204 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
exactly, fans won't be able to really. Unless of course they just completely light it up. Mistakes fans perceive to be the fault of the QB might end being a RB or WR or OL issue that the film shows. Which is why I'm going to do my best to not come on here saturday morning. -
He sent those tweets well before ZC was signed. And just after BB sign DD.
-
Even then, the QB's tomorrow won't be playing with the actual offence.

[MERGED] WPG vs. BC - Battles to Watch
Bigblue204 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don't mind taking that lineup. I do fear the over reaction if both Ross and Streveler look like garbage. -
I'm not sure I buy into the thinking that any team in this league would willingly trade a QB. No matter the item coming back (within reasonable expectations). Maybe the only one I could understand would be Adams from HAM, I can't see him being too happy there right now. But why would anyone help their competitor? The only thing that would make sense would be a huge gift from the bombers (multiple high picks/all star calibre Americans etc) which would only make us worse overall and something I don't think Walters would do. I'm actually really comfortable going with who they have in house. Bennett has been through a few camps. Some game time experience. Maybe the break in his career woke him up a bit? Maybe not, but I'm willing to find out if needed. Ross, again some very limited experience, but maybe he can take the next step. Streveler shows promise but I'm honestly not expecting him to play much even if Nichols is done for the year. With or without Nichols, I still believe the Defense is the key to this teams success.
-
I'd bet my left nut none of these happen. And You think a team would want a guy who hasn't played in almost 2 years??? I honestly don't see them trading for anyone even if Nichols is done for the year. Go with who they got and let the defense win some games...which I think was going to be happening anyway even with Matt.

Ted Wynn of the wpg sun wrote an article suggesting faith was on thin ice and Hodge retweeted and seemingly agrees with him.

Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin?
Bigblue204 replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I actually agree with him. He was making the correct reads just couldn't deliver the ball...which is obviously the most important part. But he wouldn't be at this level if he didn't have a good arm. I'm willing to see what he does Friday before writing him off completely. -
Even if he is out 5-7 weeks it's not that bad. Better to get hurt early than late.
-
When he bounced off that LB who hit the line running downhill, that really impressed me. I don't know who the LB was, but he smacked him hard enough to knock most RB over for sure. I couldn't believe he stayed on his feet. I'm surprised he's here to be honest. Seems like a guy who could contribute on some team. Glad he made the right choice to sign here though!!
-
Assuming he comes back and can still perform. This is a big signing for that team.
-
I'm glad he got cut. Was beat a few times on Friday. Randles play got him that int...and if Reilly is playing that was a Td rather than a knockdown.

It feels a lot long than 5 years ago. -
"Teams"...cough Montreal cough.....

I think there's a good chance Ross doesn't make this team. I don't think Mahoney will either so maybe Ross is given a pr spot.

Yup agree Booch, thought he looked poised out there. Made good reads and got the ball out quick when he needed too. I honestly thought Ross made the right reads as well, just had a hard time delivering the ball. Too many nerves maybe -
Nevis certainly looked like he's trying to prove something. If he can keep that level of play up, he's not going anywhere. Was really surprised by the speed of the D. rallied to the ball really fast. And solid tackling. Streveler, what can you say. Perfect day except that fumble. Absolutely the surprise of pre season so far. Quick feet too. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

Game Day: Edmonton @ Winnipeg (Pre-Season) June 1, 2018
Bigblue204 replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Sure it was a preseason game, against a bunch of likely to not make the team players. However, the bombers did exactly what they were supposed to. They executed and dominated (with the exception of the first few plays) all night long. That's exactly what I wanted to see and exactly what we should have excepted out of a team that should be ready for the next step. -

I'm fairly certain it was against a RB and not a lineman but it was still amazing. -
Holy smokes judgey Mcjudge
-
Keep in mind that it's preseason. They will be playing a pretty base D, as will the esks. But I am looking forward to seeing match ups on both the lines. And seeing what kind of plays if any the DBs can make.

You're right. A rider was the only one dumb enough to get caught in the CFL. I'm sure plenty of athletes cheat. The dumb ones get caught and have to pay a price. That's not what I was arguing. I was trying to explain that Thigpens cheating is much more meaningful (for lack of a better term) because he was actively playing on a team and then (one could argue) was one play away from going to the championship game in that league. Where as Simonise was still trying to win a spot on a team, and hadn't played a single regular season game, never mind a playoff game. Hence: Thigpens cheating had a lot more of a positive effect on his overall team/league, than Simonise. Guessing as to whether or not either of them would have continued if they didn't get caught is not a part of the original comparison...however it's likely safe to say that yes they would have. So, to clarify - your comparison of the two, while on the surface is very similar. When you actually look at each case. They are quit different in terms of the effect their cheating actually had. Again, in case you are still not understanding, Thigpens had a greater effect compared to Simonise. Both were stupid. One was slightly more stupid.
-
You honestly can't see a difference? Siminose certainly broke a rule while trying to make a roster/in preseason. Paid for it, and has started over. Thigpen, broke a rule while playing in the playoffs. They both broke rules and will pay for it. One did it while playing in the playoffs last year, the other did it the preseason in a different league, 2 years ago. Just take the green goggles off for a second and use your smrts.

Oh lame! I thought I heard both bomber games were going to be televised. Maybe I made that up, cause I'll be able to see both games this year as I'll be there on Friday.

TSN will be broadcasting. So you can watch via them online, or might be able to find something on Reddit.
