Well, I guess this isn't a "who's playing this week" kind of decision.
"who's playing this week" (depth chart) is certainly not one of Miller's role. And he didnt said (on the interview) that he will not be involved in football ops.

Just thought this was worth mentioning ...
For all this talk about how bad our team is and if we're really right for assuming the staff is the issue, all that discussion as to whether the problem is the staff or the players ...
There are now three players on other rosters in the CFL who were originally on our negotiation list but refused to play for this franchise because of apprehension due to the current staff that is in place.
DE Eric Norwood on Hamilton, good rotational guy in his first CFL season. Very Kenny Mainor-esque.
WR Jeff Fuller on Calgary, I'm sure we'd love to have a 6'4" receiver going across the middle like this guy has so far
DE Aaron Maybin on Toronto, waited almost two years for this guy to show an interest in the CFL and then when he finally did, he said "sure, but not in Winnipeg" and now the former first round NFL pick is in Toronto
thats interesting... i wanna know, if the Bombers released them from the neg list? or those teams traded for their rights?

this week is really hard to gauge since several starters are being rested...
that said, im going with Will Ford again

if HIggins is available it would stupid not to kick the tires for him. he is a winner wherever he goes. i dont think Walters will be offended if he will end as #2 to the most deserving guy.
here's a 'conspiracy' thought...
could it be Miller, Walters and Higgins have a gentleman agreement already and only a formalization is need that the latter will be the next GM in Winnipeg. and all Walter's future actions are with Higgins knowledge (and blessing) ?

I dont really like Barker.... but he is a no non-sense football guy... so he will be a good candidate.

Who says Muamba is a lock for coming back....
Maybe we can trade Biks rights to Toronto for Collaros.
could be a good deal for both sides... but i wouldn't do it if i was Winnipeg at this time. not because i don't think that it's a fair exchange of values, but because you may not have your starting NI LB after Feb 15 so trading away a prospective starting NI until the one you have is locked in is a bit dicey.
agree on that. besides collaros is a free agent why trade if the bombers can get him from free agency.

Obviously Bilukidi is not eligible for practice squad. He should be signed by any NFL team to their active roster otherwise he have no choice than to play for Winnipeg.
Im just hoping he wont pull a Corey Mace.

NFL practice squad: Salary, rules and eligibility
http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/8/31/4677982/nfl-practice-squad-salary-rules-eligibility
Practice squad basics
Each NFL team can have up to eight players on their practice squad.
Practice squad players ... practice with the team. They do not play in games.
Not all players are eligible to be signed to NFL practice squads (more on that below).
Practice squad players are paid per week and can be released at any point during the season.
Practice squad players are free to sign with other NFL teams, assuming they are signed to the 53-man active roster. A practice squad player cannot be signed to another practice squad unless he is first released.
A practice squad player can not sign with their team's upcoming opponent, unless they do so six days before the upcoming game or 10 days if their team is currently on a bye week.
If a practice squad player is signed to the active roster, they will receiver a minimum of three paychecks, even if they are released before spending three weeks with the team.
In order to be signed to a practice squad after being released, a player must first clear through waivers.
Eligibility
Practice squads are considered to be for developmental purposes. Therefore, veterans are not eligible to be signed to the practice squad. In fact, players with more than one year of accrued NFL service are not eligible. Here is a closer look at the eligibility requirements.
A player is eligible if he does not have an accrued season of NFL experience. Players gain an accrued season by being on the active roster for at least six games.
If a player has one accrued season, they can still be practice squad eligible if they were on the 45-man active gameday roster for less than nine regular season games.
A player is deemed to have served a season on the practice squad if he remains on the practice squad for at least three weeks. Players are eligible to be on the practice squad for two seasons.
Players can be eligible for a third practice squad season if their team maintains no less than 53 players on the active/inactive list at all times.
Salary
Practice squad players earn significantly less than players on the active roster, but they still take home a solid weekly paycheck. NFL practice squad players make a minimum of $6,000 per week they are on the practice squad. There is no limit to how much a team can pay a player on the practice squad. Some will offer a higher weekly salary in order to entice better players to sign, although the practice squad contracts do count against the salary cap.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have paid practice squad players significantly more in recent seasons. In 2010, Tampa Bay offered wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe a contract worth equivalent to the minimum salary to entice him to sign to its practice squad.
If a player remains on the practice squad for an entire regular season, he would earn $102,000. A player with less than one accrued season on the active roster would earn a minimum salary of $405,000. -
Christo being 325 lbs and at 6-5 would be an ideal DT.
He should lose down to 295-305 range. That's Doug's weight range. Same as Westerman and Laurent.

If we could get him (Bilukidi) up here and re-sign Muamba.... that will really help our ratio - MLB, NT, 2 REC, 3 (or 4) OLs.
Looks like the football gods is continually pouring a lot of help to Walters.

If January gets taken in the expansion draft, could Jarvis Jones play LT?
yes. he played there on his first ever start, with less than a week here in Winnipeg. he did look good there. i think Jones deserved to be protected.

I respect Penton’s opinion on protecting Poblah, although his reasoning is weak. IMO he’s weakness has been the types of routes he’s running and under-utilizing his strengths. Make him run a fade from an inside position or send him on a drag, but he needs to get his hands out in front of him in some open space. I think he needs to be a more consistent part of the blocking schemes on screen plays too.
I can see him working well in a few offensive systems.
That's all well and good, but he can't catch
Every scouting report out there talked about his good hands coming out of Central Michigan
What the hell happened
Receivers Coach Howell stole Poblah's magic mittens away.

I got a feeling that Hall will not be a Bomber by Wednesday next week. Maybe Walters and Taman is just finalizing what value will Sask going to send in return
-
So MOAB, u are conceiding that those NIPs FAs will not resign in Wpg and should remain all unprotected? Don't forget Etienne. Curious as to who you do want to protect. It will be a challenge.
I didnt say that. What I mean is Ottawa will put less weight if the players will be FA or not, if they are confident on their management that they can lure these FAs to sign with them.
As for the guys I will protect see my earlier post, there are pending FAs there.
