Thomas is a pending FA too. I like Thomas but if we can only re-sign one, I rather have Westerman than Thomas. There will be a lot of options out there for rotational DL .

Tait mentioned in one of his articles in bluebombers.com that Spooner will be back. I think its the article re breakdown of Bombers FA. As Walters mentioned since Spooner ended in PR, they have 18 days after GC to resign him. If not teams ,are free to scoop him. I think the 18 days ended last Fri, but so far no teams have signed him yet. Maybe he already signed the contract but not announced yet.

I think they have until Friday to sign him.

They should do at least one move this week. Walters mentioned in his presser that they have 18 days to sign Qadr Spooner (or else he would be free to sign somewhere) . By my count, that 18 days will end this week.

Im not really sure who’s available out there. We cant poach a DC and hire him as DC. Lateral move is not allowed. The only FAs are Thorpe and Stubler. Unless of course, Steinauer becomes available all of a sudden... or if Burke plans on going back to coaching again. Some upcomers, maybe? Barron Miles? Corey Mace? how bout Kevin Eiben? or Tony Missick? Slim pickings for sure. Maybe O’Shea assume DC role? and let someone takeover ST fulltime.

Rumor is Stubler is also a candidate for the HC. Also, if Claybrooks gets the job he is a strong candidate as DC. And I believe Stubler has turned down the Bombers multiple times already. So I would l like to think hes not interested in coming to Winnipeg.

I would think the DC candidates are waiting who gets the HC position in MTL and what DC position opens up. I believe Claybrooks, Chamblin, Benavidez and Washington are all candidates on that HC gig. Like Thorpe, he might be interested in the Argos DC position if Chamblin gets the job. Or he would prefer to ne with the Stamps if Claybrooks is it. So many variables. Maybe Oshea doesnt want to let go Hall unless hes sure theres someone coming.

The best move Trestman made during the season was Himebauch. I believe their OL gone better after that. Trestman know how to preserve an old QB. Just like AC he will do the same for Ray.
