It’s been awhile since we’ve been here, but remember it’s pro sports, other teams are trying to win as well. We’ve had a pretty good run lately. It may be time to retool (not rebuild) this team. This season seems like a bit of a lost cause although in reality it may not be. Still, time to do some tweaking /paring in some areas that in all honesty have been showing the last couple of seasons. This seems like a perfect time to move out some vets and see what we have and be ready to stick it out a bit. I don’t think the Bombers management and coaches are there yet but, we need to recognize that good teams can age quick (Tampa Bay Lightning anyone?) and seemingly overnight forget how to win. We may be here but I want to see our key injuries return for a few games first. I know I’m not saying anything that hasn’t been discussed here for the last few seasons but sometimes we all need to stop and take a breath after seasons like this and hopefully we’ll get a bit of perspective.

So how do we evaluate this first seven games (almost half) of the season? Are the Stamps and Riders any good really? What will the Als be like without their starting QB? Are BC true Grey Cup contenders? The Argos are a mixed bag, maybe we have a chance next week. Where are the Bombers and who are those imposters playing in those fine uniforms? The Ticats are winless no more but does it matter? As for the Elks ... never been the same since they changed their name ...

Finding a quality import middle LB isn’t as hard as it seems. They may have young one already. We’re not talking starting QB here …

It’s always cool when new finds like Wilson (although it’s early) add to the unexpected excitement of a fan base. Let’s hope there are more especially on the D line when we get everyone back 🤞🏻

In the next few weeks we are looking to get some expected/projected (from the beginning of the season) starters back. This season could turn out better than it looked just a short month or so ago 👍🏻

All the so called top teams are one 1st string QB injury away from mediocrity (see Riders and ALS). The way VAJ plays IMO, it’s only a matter of time before he gets hurt. It’s nice that he can scramble, but he needs to learn how to protect himself better. Every game I’ve watched him play the Bombers for instance, he takes a beating coming up limping etc. I hope I’m wrong as the league needs its top players playing. Time will tell …
