Bombers interested in Romby Bryant?
Mr. Perfect replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
And that's just it. People crapped all over Mack for not bringing in experienced players. Now we are (and lets not forget, it's a work out, he hasn't even signed a deal) and people are still crying. You can't have it both ways. Is Romby the player he was in 2008 for us? Obviously not, but for those whining and complaining about our scouts, these are the same guys who had Drew Willy evaluated higher over Burris and Collaros (regardless of what anyone thinks about how it all played out) found Paris Cotton, and have brought in guys like Maurice Leggett and Bruce Johnson, so forgive me if I take their evaluations over the geniuses implying the entire scouting class this year was a failure. -
Bombers interested in Romby Bryant?
Mr. Perfect replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I love that so many of the people on this message board have a better idea of what a player can offer versus people, you know, actually paid and traveling to various areas to scout talent. Throwing our scouts and regime under the bus before games are played? Give me a bloody break. Unbelievable. -
Bo Levi Mitchell to get the start over Drew Tate
Mr. Perfect replied to a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It will be interesting to see the kind of leash they afford both player. Regardless of BLM being named the starter I would imagine it's a pretty safe bet both get a solid amount of playing time regardless of injuries. -
Rod Smith New Host Of TSN Friday Night Football
Mr. Perfect replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Rod Smith use to host the CFL on TSN in the late 90's either before or after Dutch. Thought he was solid in the role and will be so again. -
Farhan Lalji now tweeting that Richardson will sign with the Argos. If he can get healthy, major add for Ricky Ray, not that he needed the help.

Gee, I see it differently: I was impressed by the way Romby Bryant stood up to that schmuck Mike Kelly, gave him the finger, and forced Kelly to trade him away. But by doing that to Kelly, he also did it to all his teammates as well. Kelly was an idiot & control freak. I don't recall all the circumstances that led to Bryant coming to Calgary but Kelly's "My way or the highway wanting to control the message" arrogance led to his ultimate dismissal as head coach. I blame the coach & not the player. His Majesty King Kelly treated just about everyone badly in the Bomber court, fans, media & even Bob Irving. You didn't/don't like Kelly and I'm certainly not going to defend him. But I do remember the circumstances of Bryant's trade. I do remember the absolute lack of effort by Bryant. He didn't like Kelly's offence - fine but that didn't give him the right to quit on the team. I still remember this play in his last game as a Bomber. He made a catch along the sidelines - both hands on the ball - and then the Als' defender reached in with one hand and easily grabbed the ball from him. It's difficult to describe how pathetic the play was - it really does need to be seen - but the one thing it showed clearly was that Bryant didn't care. So, Bryant goes to Calgary & he has back to back to back thousand plus yard seasons. Sure, blame the player not the lunatic coach running the team at the time. Kelly squandered a very good receiver. By criticizing Bryant you're defending Kelly so... But nobody else quit on the team in spectacular fashion like Romby. Derick Armstrong says hello.

Moe Leggett wins starting safety job
Mr. Perfect replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Cut him. Won't happen of course but wishful thinking. -
Great success with Milanovich. Only makes sense that he'd want a look for himself to see what the issues are.
-
Ottawa will make a run for Popps once his contract with the Als is up. For what reason would Popp want to go to Ottawa? He's had more than a few sniffs in the NFL the past couple of offseasons. If he does leave Montreal it will be to go down south.
-
Hell when you're paying a 40 year old quarterback nearly $400,000 you might as well make him earn his paycheque and just go for it all the time on third down.
-
Oh that Marcel DJD, what all good GM's should aspire to be.
-
Patrick Neufeld, Jesse Briggs and Drew Willy for Kris Bastien, Dylan Ainsworth and Johnny Mark. Interesting. Take it any day without thinking twice.
-
Sask got our 2nd rounder in the Neufeld trade which turned out to be Dylan Ainsworth. Still, Walters in a landslide. Not even close.
-
So the next time anyone feels like bitching about Kyle Walters, we essentially got a starting Canadian O-Lineman and what appears to be a very good QB from Saskatchewan for absolutely nothing with Jade cut and Hall down south.

[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
Mr. Perfect replied to AtlanticRiderFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Your West games is not balanced. West total wins/loss should be 45-45. East is 36-36. You're not perfect Mr. Perfect. I just realized that you are incorrect. I have proof: http://cfl.ca/standings/2005/reg It can be how you said, but it doesn't have to be. Further proof that those should really think before hitting post. Well done Duressler. Thanks for coming out M.O.A.B. -
[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
Mr. Perfect replied to AtlanticRiderFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Lack of time to go into a lot of detail currently so I'll sum my thoughts up like so: Calgary, Toronto are in a class of their own. B.C. and Sask both take steps back. Troy Smith exceeds expectations in Montreal. Despite their Canadian talent Hamilton falls below expectations. Collaros not as good as some think. West: Calgary 13-5 B.C. 10-8 Saskatchewan 10-8 Winnipeg 7-11 Edmonton 5-13 East: Toronto 12-6 Montreal 10-8 Hamilton 9-9 Ottawa 5-13 -
Not sure that was Friesen. It definitely sounds like Joe Pascucci listening to it again. http://bluebombers.com/video/index/id/97525

he dropped a ton of passes in game 1, receivers who can't catch tend not to be worth much. I am a bit disappointed in cutting Hall now, I think that was a move that could have waited until you make damned sure you're other backups are for real but whatever I know why they did it... I just don't have to like it. Guy makes one mistake compared to the other and he's out that's a risky way of running your team. Haha, so that's how you see it, eh? I have no problem with Max Hall and up until the signing of Browning, fully expected him to be the back-up this year..... but there are several more reasons he got cut than just that pick he threw against Cgy... It wasn't about "one mistake". Max Hall, as he has been his entire career was just ineffective and he was cut because of it. End of story.
-
If this is how brass really felt, Hall never stood a chance - Not that that's a bad thing... Jim Toth @JimTothSports 33s As per @BobIrvingCJOB #Bombers QB Brian Brohm moved up the depth chart to #2 in training camp & brass feel he is a Danny Mac clone. #CFL

Have to say I find some of the posts in this thread rather amusing. No surprises in the cuts I don't think. Those who performed are on the team, those who didn't are either making flight plans or will be making peanuts on the PR. The team has a long way to go but overall we're significantly ahead of where we were last season.
-
If he's on the practice roster (and Browning will be of course) it pretty much is training camp for him. He learns the playbook at his own pace and gets minimal reps as a new QB would regardless of timing.
-
No kidding. Kid's got wheels, and we liked that about Jyles too, didn't we? Wheels and a pretty good arm according to the highlight pack. All you need according some geniuses.
-
Hopefully he does better than our last quarterback from Louisiana-Munroe...

I really wish there was more video of that season. A home game against Hamilton we won 63-31 or something to that effect really stands out. The offence was clicking and we got a few breaks to. I remember one particular play we had fumbled the ball and a bunch of Hamilton defenders were booting it around and trying to pick up the ball and run for what must have been 25 yards or so then Jamie Stoddard comes out of nowhere to jump and fall on the ball. Great season.
