  1. A select few observations from someone who had a couple too many pops tonight.... Really liked, for the most part what I saw from Dru Brown. I think there's a couple of times where he left the pocket too soon - which he confessed to in the post game on OB, but still a good showing. Prukop...yikes. Underthrown balls on both picks. Decent mobility but no real rhythm with him under centre. I know Oliveria is the local kid, but Johnny Agustine needs to start week 1. Schoen reminds me of Jamie Stoddard even if he is American. Catch the ball, turn upfield, no BS. Just gets the yards. Ford seemed to have a rough time at corner. Maybe it was vanilla defensive calls, but a tough first game. Oh well. Didn't catch the numbers or names, but there was definitely a few "oh he's cut" moments, whether it was the special teams fumble, or losing contain on the QB or missed tackles. Like some have said, it was different not hearing Bob, but DT had some good bits I enjoyed and look forward to the calls for the rest of the year. Overall, fun to be back at the park on a beauty of a Friday night. Pre and post game tailgating, burgers, hot dogs, and hopefully the start of another championship run.
  2. Still not looking good per Jeff Hamilton...
  3. I hope I'm wrong, but reading Twitter today, I'm not holding my breath on the revised proposal from the CFL passing either....
  4. Still couldn't have hurt to let him play in preseason, no?
  5. Veterans usually are always better. Taman, the genius he was opted to keep Gordon over Simon, gave Khari Jones an offensive line made of dog turds, and gave Khari that million dollar contract when it was very obvious he was in decline - among many other mistakes. We would not have had the years we did without Ritchie. Yes, Taman helped build it, but he ruined it almost as fast.
  6. For me, that's how I knew our run at the top was done, and Lyle and Taman had finished destroying what Dave Ritchie built.

  8. Regarding Harris and the Friesen article... I look at it like this: Imagine knowing you have a big meeting coming up and you show up unprepared. Now, thankfully those in your area showed up and were more than capable of handling the slack you left - how do you think your bosses are going to think/feel, especially when it comes to performance review time? Bottom line: Harris took his job for granted, and someone (or a duo) came in and filled in admirably, and the bosses noted. I can't blame Bomber management one bit, and I think they were fully justified in their decision making - and considering how the organization stuck their neck out for Harris after his positive drug test (trace or more, you're still busted), he really didn't reward their faith by being out of shape, and I totally get why O'Shea would be miffed.
  9. Bingo! 35 year old running backs, local or not, is not something you go over budget for, especially when they're showing signs of not being able to stay on the field anymore. Doesn't mean there isn't respect or fond memories of the last number of seasons, but everyone has a shelf life regardless of their resume.
  10. Edmonton signs Adarius Bowman and Manny Arceneaux. Welcome to 2015 Chris Jones....
  11. Love Collaros adding in the nWo gif. We really are turning into the nWo at this point 🤣🤣
  12. I like Lucky, but for him to be paid as the league's highest paid receiver is laughable. Hopefully it doesn't skew the market too much.
  13. Reading tomorrow's forecast seems like a beautiful day to run for 200-250 yards. LFG boys!!!
  14. Very nice tribute video on Twitter put out by the club. Might get a lump in your throat.
  15. I actually had this thought when I made my initial comment....but thought I'd keep that horrible thought to myself lol.
  16. I guess there's only one thing left to do...Go back to back for Bob!
  17. Some random thoughts. Nothing terribly in depth as admittedly I was socializing with friends with the game on in the background... - Another red zone pick by Zach. Let's cut this crap out please, even if we are still winning. - Pat Neufeld at right guard is good. Pat Neufeld at right tackle is not. - That was the best Oliveira has looked all year. Good for him. Not sure what Andrew Harris' plans are going forward but hopefully there's a smooth transition there whenever Harris' time with us is done. - Up and down night kicking. Punts and kicks out of bounds...Jesus....On the other hand, 4/5 on field goals. That said I'd still be nervous as hell if we're in a 3 point game or less during the West Final or Grey Cup - Too many instances of bumper cars instead of fundamental tacking by our defence last night. - Elks play calling, offensive scheme and decision making in general....questionable at best. - Not a sexy win. But a win. 9-1 and onto the Lions....let's wrap up the West!
  18. Wish Cody and Duke the best of luck on those deep passes while Jefferson and Jeffcoat cave in their offensive tackles in the west final....
  19. Anyone know if NN is still alive and kicking? Hope he's well.
  20. Some random thoughts in no particular order: - This team reminds me of a gritty boxer. No matter what, you best be prepared to fight - and if not you're going to have a long night. - While they do it in totally different ways, I don't know that we've had a Bomber team this dominant since 2001. - Grant or Nelson returning kicks makes no difference when the punt and kick coverage is as bad as it is. - Whether it's on the offence or defence, there doesn't seem to be a player we need to hide or protect because of any sort of weakness. - Few things make me happier than watching our ends cave in offensive tackles game in and game out. - Hell of a game by Woli and Stove. Hope both are good next week. - Mike O'Shea appreciation comment: Very rarely is this team not ready to play. Coming back from a bye at 6-1, many teams would have been flat. We weren't. - Golf clap for the hogs. Solid game. - Onto Edmonton. Best of luck to them....they'll need it.
  21. Didn't good ol Dave the Bear say something to that effect when we were on our run in the early 2000's?
  22. Thanks Lyle. That, then bringing in his good buddy Mike Kelly.
