  1. How is it not true? That's exactly what happened. No one is arguing that it was the only choice, just that it is what happened.
  2. Ok.... but as is it's a direct exchange. Bighill comes on an important has to come off... and this is it. No other interpretation possible.
  3. And yet we just dumped gray like yesterday's news in the offseason... so what were they protecting last season?
  4. They had 7 ol on the roster most of last season... and still gave Thomas an emergency ol number in case. It's a wasted spot unless the extremely rare case of more than 2 guys getting hurt in game.
  5. Colin and missing the point, name a more iconic duo.
  6. Don't get me wrong I'd have fired Thomas into the sun last season, but you like the athletes who pop off the page to a fault. Thomas for a lot of years was a good soldier on the team. He's just washed up now.
  7. Let's forget the defense for a moment... why do we need 7 ol dressed? That's a wasted spot objectively.
  8. You've hated Thomas from day one though, brief period when he was playing relatively decently you quieted down on it, but Thomas safe to say is a guy who has never been your type of player.
  9. Even us armchair coaches and gas can see the roster issues and thr problems it caused last season... to continue with the same old same old as if it wasn't a problem is why people are getting angry. There is no need to play on hard mode. None at all. Build the game day roster properly and stop wasting spots or expecting too much from over the hill vets.
  10. You just can't expect mid 30s guys to carry the team like they did when they were early 30s. Just not going to happen, and until oshea realizes that and builds his roster around that we will be playing on hard mode.
  11. So the same **** that cost them last season. Mos buddy... it's oknto not have a million linebackers and it's ok to not need 7 OL and it's ok to not dress a receiver who won't take any snaps. Stop doing this on hard mode.
  12. This is where most people are. No one is saying the team is complete ****, just that they need to alter their approach to maintain the competitiveness for as long as they possibly can. Need to be proactive and always be looking to get better. We all want this to continue, we all want to keep sitting on top of the mountain looking down on everyone else. That's why the passion about the topic.
  13. I wonder about our offense purely from a collaros standpoint.
  14. So I was ok last year running it back because that was a choice and a 1 point loss in the cup fine give it a go. This year needed to be different though because it didn't work last year not going to work any better this year. Honestly would probably be best to get smacked around all of June. Might snap them out of it. But I can't ever hope for losses so go kick ass whoever wears the jersey.
  15. Could be, but if we use bighill as an example... he seems to know what to do and where to be but winds up getting there a day late and a dollar short. Jefferson can be a disruptive impact player... but can't do it every snap of every game.
  16. Someone posted a while back about how towards the end of his playing days the argos oshea was on were basically old vets who could occasionally throw out a big performance but not always. Feel like we're watching the Bombers slide into that as we speak.
  17. So age and lack of depth? Can't go balls to the walls anymore, and for older guys balls to the walls is different than it was 5 years ago. Our key guys have aged a lot since this run began.
  18. I think the big flaw is simply the head in the sand attitude about the age of some of the teams key players. Bighill gonna play after being injured all camp on just a weeks practise? Didn't we learn a lesson about playing him hurt in the grey cup? Sadly this appears to only end one way. Oshea hangs onto vets well past their best before date and the depth suffers and it all come apart and he gets fired and then a rebuild has to happen. Last year I felt the talent in camp was subpar, but this year it looked good to me. Just the roster was already set so it didn't matter. Need some more bold moves from the coaches because same old doesn't work with the age of the group that won you you in 2019/2021.
  19. I said in the post game thread, game 1 after no preseason I can understand keeping collaros in to work out the kinks, especially with strevelers ankle getting the twist from douchebag earlier, but going forward he needs to be used.
  20. I sure hope it's rust with collaros but there's been concerning things with his game since the 2022 grey cup. Sure he had some big games last summer but otherwise he's been shaky. He started the year as MOP front runner but by fall Brady took over that mantle and was the straw stirring the drink for the Bombers offensively. Collaros continues to struggle and they must work streveler into the passing game much much more.
  21. Really not equal because I suspect if the salary cap weren't a thing some of those guys would have been back anyway.
  22. Ford will be ok. Yeah he got caught looking but he also showed some good ability on a few breakups. Learning curves. Not that I am suggesting he is the same at all, but after game 1 tsn was yucking it up about Alford getting roasted for a couple tds.
  23. Yeah preseason was a giant waste of time. You gave reps to dozens of players you already knew weren't going to be on the day 1 roster. Why? Let your team play together if there's that fee spots up for grabs. I actually thought they might cut Augustine and use rosery as the back up. Guess that was just silly thinking.
