Fajardo is 4-7 as Als starter. 0-6 vs Winnipeg, Toronto, BC. Caleb Evans is 2-0. Beat a somewhat decent team in Sask and led comeback to win in Ottawa. Crazy to me that Fajardo is their guy. Their only chance to win is to go run heavy and pass off that. Fajardo is not a threat anymore with his limited mobility. He can't pass well enough to threaten a defense if he can't move.

He's hardly on the field on O. Most snaps he's taken is 14 in a game.

The CFL SMS is purely an addition problem. There’s no offsets or LTIR allowances. At the end of the year they add the salaries and bonuses paid for each game. Active roster and 1 game.

Just think with the way the CFL works...next years cap number is 0 as of today. They have the space to keep who they want and adjust if needed.

NFL practice roster expansion has already drained talent, even more than the spring leagues.

Schoen easily for me. More versatile and arguably more dynamic. Lawler is a home run hitter for sure but Schoen is like the 7 catch 100 yards weekly type guy. And he was before we had Lawler too.

Ottawa probably has 3 winnable games left but I don’t think they’ll get 3 wins over the rest. Calgary could win or lose every single game they have but probably need to win 4.

I’d just go to a Bomber game. Bison games have no atmosphere at all. I think a child would find it incredibly boring if they aren’t a football nerd.

At all levels teams hardly play under centre so usually have a tailback and blocking/receiving back or 5 receivers. With the QB starting 3 or 5 yards off that’s really too deep for I with two backs. We have a split back formation and some wing back stuff with motion where we get the ball to more of a “fullback” at the high school level but it’s all misdirection stuff and not really down hill. In my opinion you’ll only see multiple backs from teams that are run heavy with a running QB. Otherwise you want to spread out the D. Hamilton is pretty firmly in 3rd in the East. They’ve got a two game lead on the crossover with 1 game in hand. Ottawa is basically done.

It’s not choosing to kick. It’s choosing the wind in the 4th. The other team chooses kick or receive.

It’s not an extra possession at the start of a half. Think of how many points they scored under 3 mins in the 2nd quarter. You want the wind in the 2nd and 4th. It’s way different than NFL with timing rules. The clock never stops in the 1st and 3rd but under 3 minute warning both halves stops every play no matter outcome.

It’s also unattractive to teams outside of desperation because they have to keep the guy active or release him. Players have to decide if they are closer to a breakthrough with the team they’ve been with or want one game Cheque from a team in desperation like Hamilton was with Canadian OL for a couple weeks this year.

Jackson is a symptom of being a little complacent on the draft/Canadian part of the roster. They haven’t drafted an H-back type guy in a long while. They’ve been drafting for special teams, they’ve been complacent with a great group of Canadians but now they are all 30+ and we don’t necessarily have the guys to back fill because we haven’t been getting much out of the draft. To me it’s nuts (leaving aside the DL) that they’d rather have Jackson on than McCrae. McCrae is really useful on O even if they aren’t going to use him on punts. We don’t have any speed coming out of the backfield and you can only go to the well on the jet looks so much because it becomes obvious and a TFL/turnover waiting to happen. That’s like a 2-3 times a game look. And if Oliviera leaves a game we’re stuck with Augustine who can’t pass protect and is no threat with the ball. Yeah looked great playing with Streveler (4 YEARS AGO) when they actually ran a ton of RPO stuff with Harris out.

Yeah is for sure about the stoppages. Rule from way before they cared about safety at all.

Technically true though. The yardage difference in the penalties would have been meaningless to the game but ejecting Robertson would have been impactful.

The intent is the issue though. It’s so far out of the play that the contact is not part of the game. Marino’s hits were illegal within the context of the game. This was beyond that. I think Robertson is getting some benefit of the doubt for a mild history on illegal hits.

Desjarlais was on New Orleans PR for first 2 weeks and last 9, so 11 total. So that's a minimum $132,000 USD he made last year. Obviously as a CFL free agent he comes back and makes about as much as he would as a guy on a NFL PR for a whole season. Ford is year 2 of rookie deal in CFL. He gets half a NFL season on PR that's a lot more. He's active for a few weeks, quite a bit more. 6 game checks left in Bombers season, so about $25,000 CAD plus playoffs. Take self out of this NFL season completely. CFL should let players out once season ends. Then there'd be a chance for more guys to come back. 3 weeks on a NFL PR is more money than he'd get for 6 games plus playoffs in CFL. Ford isn't a CFL free agent until after 2024 season, February 2025.

They need an ability to go to quick passing game especially as Oliviera being such a threat with a head of steam draws D up and inside. Feels like there might be some resistance from the QB to that.
