  1. I like Stoudermire.. He's going to be huge for our Roster.
  2. That's what I've been saying. Our running game (or lack thereof) has absolutely nothing to do with Grigsby. Cotton does no better. It's the entire scheme, and the personal of the Oline (who get manhandled regularly at the LOS) that is our Achilles heel, not the running back. We could have better, yes. But better won't solve the problem. Just because Cotton does no better in the very few chances he gets, does not mean he isn't the better RB. there's plenty of evidence other than getting stuffed in the backfield as to why Grigsby just isn't good enough. His play in the open field being one of them. Another is how easy he is to bring down. and there's plenty more
  3. Using Refs for an excuse is worse than using injuries as one. I blame the loss on the sched, which couldn't really be helped. Bombers are still the better team but not really ready to be true contenders for the cup yet. Massive holes in Run Defense/Run Game/Offensive line/RB Argos are the only good team in the east, Hamilton may still be able to become one at some point this year.
  4. In the early going, the refs killed us and the Bombers capitalized. The refs made a call or two in our favour later on. You couldn't on the whole think that it went mostly against the Bombers though, could you? Shocking. The thing that pissed me off early was how blatant the Argos holding was. Seemed like there was really bad and obvious holding on every play. I know the CFL lets a lot of holding go but it was ridiculous. Especially with a lot of the ticky tack calls that were going on all over the field. I thought the refs were just terrible until that over turned PI challenged, then I started to change my mind, gotta help the poor useless eastern teams out any way we can. I personaly think the Argos are just getting better. They did have over a week to get ready for us, and we literally had zero time to make any changes from our last game so they knew exactly what we were going to be doing on defense... When a guy like Ray knows what your doing on defense, especially with such speed at receiver, they are going to hurt you IMO
  5. Im sure that was tongue in cheek because Stoudermire actually runs hard and breaks tackles
  6. another thing, looks like Ray really figured this defence out, lets hope the trend of teams figuring Etch at around Labor day is a myth, and not coming to fruition already
  7. Agree on Howard... We need to find our own dominant OT to bolster this O-line Desperately need to add size to this defence... Move Wild back to WILL already, start Kromah at MAC and Keep Anderson as the mainstay at DT instead of Turner. Hopefuly we can get Bilukidi up here too. I think we need a dominant pass rusher like a Hall or a Hunt type as well. Very happy with the secondary and receivers when they are healthy. (which means no Bryant) Need a RB... hurry up and find one already, Grigsby is actually frustrating me to the point of yelling at him through my TV... I look ridiculous when he runs the ball
  8. Cotton seems so out of sync when he's in. Im so tired of our O-line, our Run game, and run defence...
  9. we should of won that game anyway.... we dominated them on both sides of the ball if it weren't for those dumb turn overs
  10. I hate to say it but Drew kind of cost us the game... didn't help on his fumble when all the O-line were just standing around looking like a bunch of goofs while the ball was rolling around on the ground. Nobody should, or will hate on him though cause he's the best guy we've had since Khari, and he's young with a great attitude
  11. Doesnt matter if Grigsby has a hole to run through or not, as soon as someone gets a hand on him he falls down
  12. Their offence didn't do anything against us all night... the only thing they could do successfully on us was pound the ball with Messam. Ford couldn't run against us, Durant couldn't pass against us.
  13. You guys are seriously downplaying the impact Messam had on the game simply because you were wrong about him. His "short" runs where we "stuffed" him he had five yards, and it didn't matter because he made the first down anyway... We could not stop him, even when we got to him early Like Floyd said, the biggest reason to bring Messam in was to have 2 legit game day RB's on the roster without burning a DI
  14. There were a few runs that he got 4-5 yards and then got arm tackled on first contact. Granted there weren't many. Seems to happen a lot with Grigsby. Also like 17 stated in another thread, loses way to much speed on cuts... hate when he gets choppy feet and runs into his blockers back and falls down after as well. He's just clearly not good enough at running the ball
  15. I wouldn't say that this team has a delicate psyche. They've come from behind a number of times this season and it looks like MOS has instilled an expectation to win. I have no idea why they're sticking with Grigsby at RB, but I doubt it's to protect his feelings. The coaching staff seems to be in love with him for better or worse. Maybe he's the type of guy who dominates practice and turns off in games. see the post above yours. Instead of blaming just grigsby, look at the Oline also. Dude was constantly being stuffed in the back field, what can the rb do, any running back for that matter do when he always has 2 or 3 if not more guys in his face the second he gets the ball. Run through them like Messam, Or run around them like Charlie. Simpson and Ford were both better behind Olines that were just as bad as this one. charles and Gable didnt have much better last season and both were a hell of a lot better than Grigsby Notice how even when we swarm the ball on Messam he still has forward progress? that's because he runs hard and is powerfull. I have a feeling he'd even push Zac Anderson backwards. Get a hand on Grigsby and he falls down
  16. Plus he Only runs on first down.... I liked the term Suitor used, run blitz... when they know all we're only going to run on first down, it makes it real easy to stuff via the "run blitz"
  17. Yourself, Floyd and I were the main Messam supporters... I believe watching him play thursday really confirmed our stance on him
  18. hell, even with the washington fumble... thats just 7 points on that interception right there, instead of losing by 6, win by 1. Yeah the line sucked tonight, Wasn't at the game but they showed wylie a few times on tv and every time he was taking notes of some kind. Probably not too impressed tonight at all. Oline needs to step up. BIG TIME. But i guess, they are what they are and it's gonna take some time for them to actually get better. Are we the worst oline in the league? Nope, but... we certainly aren't even close to being one of the best. I find it hard to blame them though for Willys decision to throw a 40 yard pass across the field like that... but still... Willy has to take some blame for that, he was the guy that threw the ball.. I want to call our oline Ondrej Pavelec, and by that what i mean is, If they are just average, don't have to be the best, just be average, i think we could do some good things. But they appear to be pretty below average right now and are really what is holding us back. No run game, Willy getting killed and hurried the last several games. Oline getting worse, sure they have some injuries to deal with but... Guess when it comes to the oline, gotta be patient, no quick fixes out there, it's gonna take time, I mean, maybe we can look to upgrade our tackles, January included but... It's gonna take drafting to truly fix it. I thought the interior though played pretty decent for the most part though but our tackles got owned several times tonight... They all had issues but, the tackles didn't look good at all and they are Imports (internationals). Tackles couldn't handle Chick. He lined up a little bit wider & they couldn't get out of their stance fast enough or have the foot speed to handle his jump off the snap of the ball. Chick & Charleston Hughes are the two best D ends in the CFL. Yup, the tackles had troubles stopping CHICK all night long... Not sure what game some were watching if they thought January was one of our best Oline tonight. I thought him and howard got absolutely owned and more so January actually. Some folks should watch the replay and just watch the tackles and more specifically January, He did not play well at all. Honestly, from my sober view on my couch at home, January looked the worst tonight... By far. Then howard but...January got owned pretty much every play. Chick was in the NFL for a bit wasn't he or got a shot at least? Honestly after watching this game and several others this season involving the Riders, i can see why.. The guy is probably too good of a player for the CFL, not a shot at the CFL at all, just i really think he's one of the best Defensive Ends in the league, Maybe the best actually. Wish we had a guy like that on our team.. I like our D actually, but man, we are really missing that pass rushing dominant defensive end, paging alex hall or justin hickman I saw you mention irrational bias towards a player from a poster on here.... well you have one against January... Howard was much worse... weather you like to admit it or not, January is one of our top 2 lineman. I agree though that we need a stud pass rusher off the edge. Hunt and Hickman are both upgrades over what we have and Hunt is a FA, not sure on the status of Hickman, but if he's available I want him on the team
  19. Messam is 6" taller and 50lbs heavier. Who really cares, our oline sucks, Without an oline, messam is invisible, Seriously he has one good half against the bombers and all of a sudden he's some superstar running back? Please man, there was a reason he wasn't starting and still isn't starting... Dude had one good half, let's not get ridiculous and if you don't think the OLINE plays a role in what a running back does, you are crazy, sask leads the league in rushing, it's no coincidence they have the best oline in the league too. Messam would be much better than Grigsby behind this O-line... It was a mistake not to sign him
  20. Why the hell would we sign matthews and then trade him? That makes zero sense... and as much as i like Allen, what has he done exactly? He's shown he can run behind SASKs oline, just like Ford, Charles,Messam and really name a guy, whoever they put in at RB, puts up big rushing yards....It's really irrelevant who is back there for them, This is the same team that leads the league in rushing and have used like 5 or 6 different backs so far in 5 games... What does that tell you? Tells me, it's not the running back, it's the oline. There's been successful RB's in this league behind worse Olines... Grigsby has been very unimpressive
  21. I think Ford is better then Grigsby though. But I still think Cotton is better than both of them. I wonder how well Cotton can catch the ball, and if McGuffie can play some Tailback for us
  22. I hope Watson and Moore are healthy... I personally believe with a healthy group, our receivers are amoung the leagues best
  23. Imagine this guy if we manage to get him a good O-line?
  24. Speaking of previous teams starts in the NFL, Phill Hunt is a Free Agent
  25. Just looked it up pass knock downs Sears 2 Bruce Johnson 2 Leggett 3 (impressive considering he's only played 2 or 3 games) Washington 1 Bucknor 2 Randle 3
