  1. Just thought it'd make for an interesting discussion. Not so much what WE think, but what his peers and students think. Matt Black @MattBlack39 Coach O'Shea u taught me more about this game & how to play this game than you will even know. Thank u 4 everything. U will be missed! Matt Black @MattBlack39 These people that don't think O'Shea is qualified are sorely mistaken. His players will sacrifice their bodies for him. Mark my words... Kerry Joseph @kerryjoseph4 Congrats to Mike O'Shea on being named HC of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Lots of respect for him. Ricky Foley @Foley4Real Congrats2Mike O'Shea,His players will run through walls 4him, Why U ask? 'Cause HE DID in THIS league 4yrs as a D starter & all4 ST's #CFL (Editor's note: pretty sure Foley is drunk) Spencer Watt @swatt89 Sad to see one hell of coach leave. Good luck to Mike O'Shea and his head coaching job. Matt Dominguez @mattdshow Congrats to Mike O'Shea for getting the HC job in Peg. They've already faked a field goal and 2 blocked 2 punts by now. #newlook Trenton Guy @TrentGuy3284 Congrats to Mike O'Shea on being named Head Coach of Winnipeg !! Romby Bryant @tharbryant @TrentGuy3284 O is gone? Damn! Sammy Tranks @OGperspective Congrats Mike O'Shea, on earning the head coaching job for Winnipeg! Had the pleasure to play 2 years under him. Fearless... That guy. #CFL not to mention Ryan Lucas, Terrence Edwards and Chris Cvetkovic all tweeting about how pleased they are too. I think it says a lot that so many players he has coached have spoken up about him leaving. Very excited.
  2. I feel like I know more about who I DON'T want than who I DO want. As far as defensive coordinator goes, I have NO idea. I don't want Kavis, that's for sure.
  3. The only thing I could think of when O'Shea was talking about what kind of players he likes is that he must really REALLY want Henoc back here.
  4. "If the players keep making the same mistakes over and over again, you're not coaching them well enough" Hey Tim Burke, are you listening?
  5. I think it was closer to when he said "Grey Cup". I missed the end of what he said, but I thought he had said something else. Thanks.
  6. O'Shea just got a round of applause when he said "this is not a rebuild"
  7. O'Shea is putting on a good face, but you know he's hearing these questions that guys are asking and he's like ...
  8. Some of these reporters here are seriously dumb. "What say will you have in the starting QB?" Derp.
  9. And now O'Shea says he likes the fact that Miller is involved. Hmm.
  10. You can pretty much guarantee Creehan will not be on the staff based on what O'Shea said he's looking for in his assistants.
  11. da fuq is with this stream. Not working?
  12. And it's also a lot more than drawing plays on a whiteboard and barking formations into a headset, which is apparently the only things guys like Cortez and Burke are good at.
  13. You loved the George Cortez hire, so I'm okay with your opinion. Compare their coaching resumes before making the jump to HC and you would see why. Far as I can see O'shea was hired because ... 1. He was a good player on good teams. 2 . He coached something. You're right. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he is regarded as one of the best on-field leaders in the history of the CFL. That aint coaching and you know it. I don't really think you know what a head coach does.
  14. If Cortez has an opportunity to be a HC in the CFL or elsewhere or even leave to go be an OC somewhere else in the league, the Riders can't hold him. All assistants have an out clause after the season to go to other teams in the CFL or elsewhere. How productive would it be for the Riders to not allow Cortez to pursue other opportunities & they have a disgruntled coach on their hands? Saskatchewan doesn't have a choice no matter what. It's not a case of them "not allowing" him or him exercising an out clause. He's not under contract to them. He's free to do what he wants.

  17. Good for Collaros. He can explore NFL options all he wants, we may have to go after him in FA but the reality is he's very likely going to be in the CFL next year.
  18. Congrats to Henoc, only Bomber to make the squad. Let's hope he wants to get mentored by a fellow Canadian all-star MLB.
  19. thank you. It's a family tribute piece, so I guess I'll take that as a compliment even though I probably shouldn't.
  20. Wait, that's our Mike that asked that? ....I feel so....let down. Which one are you, the one with the backwards cap or the stupid glasses? stupid glasses. Sigh...I feel sad now. there I changed it. I look slightly (SLIGHTLY) less douchebaggy now.

  22. When he interviewed in Saskatchewan, he was interested in Orlondo Steinauer, Marcus Brady and Jason Maas. Right now? Today? No idea. I'm going to pick a dark horse for our staff though ... I won't be surprised if Jordan Younger retires and we hire him as a DB coach.
  23. The part I like best is that O'Shea is held in such high regard that we passed on the experienced candidate (Cortez) and the media is STILL saying it's a great move.
  24. Now that you've changed your avatar, does this mean the circus has officially left Winniepg? I think the past two days have been very important for Winnipeg's football future. I'm very happy.
