Check out Half Pints on a Tuesday if you can - they do test batches every Tuesday now and Miguel has been cooking up some gems. Torque will have some of the best "deck beer" offerings. They're going to be doing a summer pack with ... if I remember off the top of my head ... their helles, mango gose, pale ale and session ale?

Turn down for Watt

Never been a Lake of the Woods guy. Their beers are so inconsistent.

Speaking of receivers, we just signed REC Derek Yachison .. Winnipegger who played junior football in BC and I think he's been with the Lions a bit.
-
I'm at the point where I don't even get excited about new receivers anymore. Walters has done some awesome things and our scouts have brought in some great talent. We can't find receivers. TJ Thorpe is about the most optimistic I've been on a guy. But even then ... already hurt. This L'Damian fella, he sounds good on paper ... but so did Jace Davis and Ja'Mes Logan and Lavasier Tuinei and Toney Clemons and Mario Urrutia and Donavon Kemp. It never seems to work out.

I honestly believe they could leave Myers unprotected and Vegas would not take him. His injury questions are real. -
At least we have Carmichael

Ripper, I like you. You come here and you take your lumps and you manage to be more than tolerable, which is waaaay more than I can say for most other Rider fans. But I've seen this story before. Lots. Letting go of Durant wasn't the mistake. Letting go of him this year was. If Jones was going to cast off Durant without a proper replacement, he should've done it right from the get go year one. This is going to be the second year wasted because of that decision. Your defense might be great. I have my doubts, but one never really knows. That being said, I've seen a lot of great Bomber defenses on 6-12 or 7-11 teams because they didn't have a QB. And you don't have a QB. -

If it makes you feel better, I like what I'm seeing from the Riders too. Things are heading in the right direction for Saskatchewan if you're a Bomber fan. . -
We always seem to find a guy at a position we don't need to fill. That being said, it sounds like Carmichael is a baller. He's establishing himself as an early candidate for that Julian Posey role from last year.

I can't say I'm surprised that the Smith/Waggoner money is already spent. I'm fine with that, though. -
Wow BG84 jumping in with the pairings. Nice! Ray and I split a double IPA from Foley Brothers in Vermont yesterday after our hockey game ... hops do not pair with sweaty locker rooms. Least enjoyable IPA experience ever.

It's nice to have it organized, but one of our friends is actually an event planner and she did an awesome job recreating everything for us last year. Same bus/hotel/ticket arrangements, but we did it for a group of 52 people for about $230 a person. Basically made enough profit to cover the costs of the trip for the one or two people who planned it.
-
I don't think it operates anymore, our crew was usually making up about 70% of their attendance annually and we kind of just came to the realization that we can do it for about half the price if we plan it ourselves.
-
We've evolved beyond what is available at our local liquor stores and now Ray and I have bi-weekly shipments coming in from take your pick of Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa or Vermont. What do you guys think of the Dandy in Calgary? Tried anything there yet? My friend also just brought back some unreal beers from a trip to Calgary, the NE Style IPA from Blindman and Apex Predator from Bench Creek (I think that's what it's called?) Both unreal.
-
let me see what I can do, we MIGHT have extras. I just sent Ray a text to check.

Doesn't do the whole forum thing anymore, but he's around. Just put his $100 on the Bombers to win the Cup this morning, actually. We're going to be in Regina for the season opener if anyone wants to drink a beer or thirty with us.

Re: Sam Hurl I'm sure (hopeful) that the reason he is getting first team reps is because he knows the expectations of the position and can offer up an example to the young guys. Even if he can't execute, he knows the assignments. At least that's what I hope it is.

Follow through on his promises or as an alternative, allow us to follow through on them for him.
