It seems ridiculous that MOS would hamstring the incoming OC by declaring Willy the starter since we don't even know if he'll pass the physical come TC 2016. MOS is the head coach. And while I realized defense / ST is his background, and he would take any input from an OC, but the final decision on roster management, including starting QBs, is his. The buck stops with him.

There are many people who are gay and are not at all comfortable coming out because of the backlash and perceptions and hate that they would receive. Just because you don't do it or don't see it happening, does not mean that gay people don't experience it or have anything to fear. Are things getting better then they were? Yes. Are they perfect? No. Like it or not, celebrities coming out help being gay "accepted" by a larger portion or people, which in turn make people more comfortable leaving the life they want to without feeling the need to hide it.

I'm more interested in the timing of those comments. Was it after everything blew up with the track suit of before. Also curious how long Cheveldayoff (prior to that incident) was seriously trying to trade Kane, other than the usual discussions GMs would have on players.

Hollywood fantasy... It's fun to watch & get into as a fan (which I enjoy) but nothing based on reality. A theory is just that, a theory. Therefore if that theory is used not based on scientific fact, it is therefore a fantasy. I understand. Relativity is only a theory, so it is fantasy.

Science Fiction implies that what is written in it is not real or it is imagined. Or not based in reality. The science part is mostly the fiction part. So there was a time that the Earth orbiting around the Sun rather then the Sun orbiting around the Earth was pure fantasy? The earth being round instead of flat was pure fantasy but now it is fiction?? At what point does fantasy become Science Fiction before it becomes reality? To me Science Fiction revolves around some future or alternate world where these is advanced science and / or technology for the things they do, and usually involves outer space. Fantasy is typically some land or different world that is still in or around the bronze / iron age, has no computers or combustion engines and has some sort of magic. There are of course some works that blur the lines of both.

The real question, and the only one that really matters ... is if you were just a downloaded consciousness, would you still post on MBB?

I've gone down a bit of a worm hole on this one, I've been reading a few articles on this the past couple of days and some of it is really weird. The theory basically is that our universe has at some point in the last 20 years collapsed with another parallel universe where some things are slightly different but our memories of them from the original universe remain with us. Lawless today said that he was talking with another CFL GM and they are suggesting that if the Bombers do keep O'Shea they should extend him by at least 1 year. The theory being is that assistant coaches never get a contract longer than the head coach currently has. And if you want to sign a quality OC to replace Marcel, then you will need to offer them 2 years minimum. No quality OC will come here for a one year deal with a lame duck head coach. Another reason to fire O'Shea now?

I don't equate not suspending a player as thumbing your nose at a rape accusation. The States and Canada have due process for a reason. We will never know what happened especially with the whole string of events with the Mother and attorney stepping down. You make your assumptions based on what is reported in the media and reputation. Not enough IMO. The police never had enough evidence or cooperation to lay charges. And they are the one with all the evidence.

Caught the ending discussion about this on H&L last night. They compared it to the Voynov case where the NHL was able to do an independent investigation and corroborate that there was evidence to support the accusation. Where as in the Kane case, the only evidence really appears to be rape kit which the NHL would not be able to get access to the results. There is no doubt the NHL would have launched its own internal investigation into this and their inaction would have been in the lack of anything they could find. Which I think is the right thing to do. Of course the police handle these cases differently. The public scrutiny in a high profile case always changes the game because of the amount of media coverage and publicity around it. They don’t want to make mistakes. In cases like these, I don’t think the NHL should be suspending a player until charges are laid or they have their own evidence to proceed (like the NFL getting the security tapes in the Ray Rice incident). I don’t think accusations are enough.

If charged, this will be a test of the NHL... do they immediately suspend him? Do the Blackhawks? Should they? What happened to innocent until proven guilty. Should be immediately suspended. Too serious. Its not like he wouldnt get paid. This isnt like you or me at our jobs and even then some places would suspend or fire their employees after a charge. So I know we still don't really know what happened and probably never will, but I'm curious now that we know the result of the criminal investigation and lack of charges being pressed, do you still think he should have been suspended back in August? Curious for the discussion the next time something like this happens.
