Really solid win last night. Pretty suffocating style of play and Helly was big when he needed to be. Please take that show on the road. I’m still pissed about the Benn situation late in the game. He’s a dirty POS. That whole melee was his doing and the refs reward them with a PP. We’ve seen some shady calls this series, but that may be the worst. The league better look at that punch, but they probably won’t. It was predatory and dangerous. Giving Dallas a PP and then doing nothing after the fact, is condoning sucker punching star players. There’s no place for it…. At least there shouldn’t be.

Why no review on the puck off of Scheifele’s wrist?? I don’t think it was a goal, but it absolutely should’ve been looked at.

An interference call on the Jets is rich. Dallas has been setting picks constantly. Especially Benn. Not as bad as the Blues, but it’s a lot. All 3 calls in the game have been soft as hell. But of course Dallas has the advantage.

Yeah, the soft goals hurt… They are demoralizing, but Dallas recovered just fine after a much weaker goal. The lack of scoring is hurting us more. We had chances last night, but just couldn’t cash in, and Dallas did. It’s not that simple, but it’s kinda that simple. We don’t have good scoring depth and it’s showing up. The PP has to make some adjustments. Their movements have become predictable. Maybe some more shots from the point? Or shots in general. At least so the defenders have to respect that possibility more. And for God’s sake…. Take Appleton off of the PP 2 unit. To say he doesn’t belong is massive understatement.

Perfetti slashed, Ehlers tripped right off the draw. Two different sets of rules being used. Not that our PP would be able To take advantage of it.

Big slash on Connor’s breakaway. No call. 3 seconds from killing the penalty. Brutal.

Exact opposite of how we needed to start the period. That was a follow through on a clearing attempt. Just a massive blow. Got to kill this off somehow.

Nino has to get the puck deep there with the D pinching. Not a good game for him so far. Appleton has been awful. He easily has the worst shot in the league. Connor scores from that spot 99 times out of 100. Shot it right at Ottinger… Despite the Sportsnet crew slobbering all over what a great save it was. Need to produce some offense in the 3rd, obviously, but their play has actually been pretty good…. Just need more.

And if the officials call a fair game…. That would help.

Well, the ref, when announcing it was a ‘good goal’, said the Dallas player kicked the puck. So they confirmed it was a kick…. Which also confirms that they got the call wrong.

Interesting. Wonder if he got that straight from the officials or using his own words. Because what the refs strongly felt doesn’t make any damn difference. They can’t judge intent…. And oh yeah, it doesn’t friggin matter. The rule book says that wasn’t a goal. And nowhere in that book does it say anything about feeling, intent or propelled. They absolutely blew that call and everyone knows it.

Jets head coach Scott Arniel wasn't pleased with the explanation. "The rule states that if the puck gets kicked, hits a body or a stick of anybody else other than the goaltender, it counts as a goal. It hit our goaltender's stick and went into the net. That is no goal," Arniel said postgame, per Sportsnet. "They said that (Hellebuyck) propelled the puck in, I haven't seen the word propelled in the rulebook."

Actually they won’t…. They never have to answer for anything.

The goalie is trying to make a save…. He’s not knocking it into his own net. That is absolutely ridiculous. They acknowledged it was a kicking motion. It’s no goal. Period.

Are the refs against us in every series? I don’t want to think that way, but what the hell was with the non call on Connor? Late hit, plus an elbow. And Dallas scores right after…. Should’ve been in the box.

Jets are playing pretty well for the most part. Only negatives are the face offs and they allowed too many high danger chances in the 2nd….. But Bucky has been outstanding.

I took a dump this morning that was better than Thomas. Definitely more agile.

Of course, no player is a guarantee, but the fact that he was on our neg list before realizing he was a global player, says something. He’s not just the average global pick that you take a flyer on…. Will he pan out? Who knows? But there is reason for some optimism.

Glad Scheifele got that late goal. Knew we would start getting screwed on the calls when we went up 3-0 on PPs. Soft call on Fleury, then the refs ignore a couple obvious penalties on the Stars. Why can’t officials just call the game in front of them? If the PPs end up 6-2, so be it. It’s ridiculous.
