  1. actually haba ran 4.69 Celestin Haba - OLB - Texas AM-Commerce - 2023 Draft Scout/NCAA College Football I'd love to see them sign Kongbo as well
  2. he looks to be stronger than Haba, but slower as well. Maybe he loses a bit of weight to help.
  3. If Grant doesn't sign, maybe we could sign Lucky, while he might not be as good as Grant, he would be another weapon on the offence. Bonus is he would qualify as a designated national.
  4. I believe your question was "I wonder what is historically a worse pick in the first round of the cfl draft, a fb or a wr.?" Tyson Philpot 532 yds ly, 459 yds in 2022 so basically a thousand yards by himself, and the gamebreaking play against us in the grey cup Jalen Philpot hurt in 2023 317yd in 2022 also returned 21 kickoffs for 573 yards and a league-leading 27.3-yard average, Emililus 1097 yards ly If you look at the last 4 drafts there is a lot of less than stellar picks at most positions except fb because none were chosen It all boils down to the individual player ie Demski, Emilus, Gittens jr are all top players and being paid as such
  5. in 2022 Jalen Philpot, Tyson Philpot, And Samuel Emilus were all chosen in the first round.(all turned out to be good picks) Its been a long time since a fb was selected.
  6. Brubacher falls in the same category I think and maybe Una This draft appears to be much stronger in depth than recent years, we should be able to get 3 good players. By the way good post M Silverback, interesting to get an informed take, I'll probably use it in my next 3 down article😉
  7. Hodges 2nd mock draft is better than his first. The guy is amazing in his predictions. Now if he could misspell Ferguson 3 times in one post he would be even better.😉 Before anyone goes off the deep end I'm kidding
  8. yeah my bad. fixed it....sorry if you got confused on who I meant....
  9. Ottawa doesnt have a national receiver on their roster that caught more than 1 pass ly, do you think they will pass on Mital and/or Mardner? Duncan-Busby is the next best but there is a noticable drop off (Hodge has him 15 , Ferguson 17 pick) Ferguson doesn't have Ottawa picking a receiver in any of their 2 picks Your point 2 where Ferguson doubts his own ranking also indicated why his draft is less than stellar As far as Straker goes i may have understated his value, although as an armchair gm, Deblanco seems a better pick
  10. gotta say I'm not a fan of people on this forum who make snide remarks on the commentor vs the topic being discussed. (and for clarity ive said earlier that I dont think Hodges draft was good, just that Fergusons is worse.)
  11. This draft is worse than Hodges, no way that Ottawa not take a reciever in top 2 picks. Nor does Deblanco last more than 3 picks. Straker at 2 is also dreaming
  12. Keith Khalil SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS Outstanding on reach blocks, showing good initial quickness and flexibility to seal the backside. He’s a heady player who is quick to recognize and react to twists and stunts up front, and Keith shows a good sense of timing on combo blocks. Dips shoulder and moves his feet to get outside leverage when needed. Strong and low coming out of his stance, effective in short-yardage situations. Fires off the snap quickly, and he shows the flexibility to get out and seal on reach blocks. He’s at his best, however, in the phone booth. In the run game, he plays with a mean streak and does a nice job generating a push at the initial point of attack. Keith can get outside and does a decent job landing blocks in space. Coordinated when moving to the second level as a run blocker, capable of landing blocks on the move. Fires out of his stance with a good pad level, consistently winning at the point of attack. SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES Tends to slip off blocks when going against bigger linemen, and Keith too often finishes plays on the ground. Drops his head too often on contact, which causes problems against swim moves. He's athletic and a pure left tackle whose high-hipped frame and waist bending might be exposed against pro rushers
  13. Brady wasn't as fast but he was a lot stronger. 29 reps vs 16 for Chris-Ike (Herzog was dnp), but I think your right, I would think Chris-Ike at least would go in the 2nd round. I would think we'd even be interested vs taking a fullback (neither Hladik or Oulette impressed speed or strength wise)
  14. Looks like wr and dbs fared well in relation to 2023, Deblanko improved his stock at lb, Dl were disappointing while oline seems stronger as well Id be cautious with Haladik, and Ouellette at fb, no higher than 3rd round. Chris Ikes at 225 lbs is intriguing with great speed and size
  15. As Walters said, who we pick will have to beat out someone on our existing roster, our first round will likely be Oline after that it will likely be who can improve our roster the most. At our second pick. it will depend whose available on the dline that better than Bennet or Smeckle. Or if we go reciever whose better than Murphy.
  16. At least Hodge seems to put the work in, he seems to be on top of a lot of Bomber related news, I don't always agree with his takes, and this mock draft is an example but the negative view is out of line Although when he collaborates with Abbot its not pretty
  17. first off I'm not sure about Hodges order = I don't see a wr being drafted #1 by any team. If Edm wants him they would trade down, Secondly Sask has to go with an OL pick. There main need has been and continues to be olinemen. And there are decent choices here so its not a case of taking the best talent available.. I would see us going OL, DL, FB, WR
  18. he was on our negotiation list as well, (as was Nichols when we signed him) fingers crossed - it would be nice to have a db with a bit of size
  19. the more top end names added the better, increases our chances of getting a good ol prospect. Ly by the time we got to pick potential starting players were already gone.
  20. Just responding to the players that were named in terms of their contribution Everyone has a role, but if you point at exume and clements being gone means we are going to be bad,, back it up. Of importance also is that we are replacing st coach to address some of those shortfalls
  21. Need to look at the stats before making comments,, Hallet led team in st tackles. ly, clements had 6 ,and only 4 the previous yr. Ford In his rookie season had 10 st tackles. Exume is good but was also cut by mtrl midseason
  22. Briggs was declining last year , Miller didn't play, Ford will outdo Exume, Hallet is our best and is still here, Cole will see more action and as you said Caldwallader and Kelly are improving (Caldwallader outplayed Briggs). We will also be replacing Clements who wasn't very good at st. We've also changed our st coach. I think you're being way too negative. We will also be adding in the draft a few players that are being utilized specifically for st .
  23. below are the Projected Cdns as of this date Starters: Olivera Demski Neufeld Kolankowski Eli Wolitarski Lawton primary backups: Kramdl Hallet Augustine Dobson Thomas Ford Gautier Murphy Bennet special teams Caldwader. Benson, Kelly above account for 19 of 21 starters, 2 of which Jones and Kramdl may also become starters if needed on the bubble: Smeckle, Beeksma, Charboneau Hallet, Macdougall Of the 19 starters I would say we could use upgrades on Bennet, and Thomas, With 10 draft picks we are in decent shape
