  1. Comparatively yeah, I’d say it’s apt as possible. Backup for 3-4 years, showed tons of promise. Showed the ability to run the offence as well or better than the starter. Let go to keep an aging superstar… I could be forcing it, that Dunnigan/Danny Mac thing happened in my formative football years and shaped my fandom to a degree. Just so similar feeling.
  2. He’s not been horrible. I feel like it’s more about the talent level around him being astronomically higher than when he was in Sask. He still does the spin, he still launches ducks for nothing and nobody sometimes. He’s still Fajardo, just with an MOP type receiver and a good oline. He’s tasked with managing the game vs trying to win it himself like he did with the Riders.
  3. 2025 is when we’ll know who was right about that. For example Dunnigan over Danny Mac seemed ok in 1993, not so much the 2 years after.
  4. That was inexcusably poor in-game officiating, and a double down by the league in not bringing the hammer down. One of the most egregious UR’s I’ve ever seen. I still remember when he called the secondary “The Sisters of the Poor” in a postgame Couldn’t find it, but there’s another treasure of a halftime interview at 1:04:30
  5. He’s not wrong, but if he had a hammy and now a knee, if he ain’t 100% he should sit. In week 3, that’s the correct move by the coaches imo. Maybe Osh learned something from trotting out a field hospital in the Grey Cup.
  6. For as much talk about our lack of run game making us one dimensional this year, look at BC. Arguably a worse oline than ours talent-wise and a washed-up Stanback the only real option to carry the ball. I think this could be Devin Adams coming out party. Again, the only real huge concern for me is our Oline vs their Dline. Their ends are pretty damn good. I’m not as worried about our secondary as backers in pass coverage. Teams have been running a lot of drags out of tight bunch to get our LBs running in opposite directions.
  7. That sings a bit, but honestly I really liked that trade at the time.
  8. That’s a good point. I’d have to agree. The situation is just so maddening that I was looking for any possible reason. I hate to harp on the same stuff, but it’s just so ridiculous. It doesn’t matter how well Kolo can read a d or not though, he’s getting physically dominated constantly.
  9. I’m just grasping at straws because I can’t for the life of me figure out why Eli isn’t starting. Is it possible his knee’s destroyed and he’s only good for a few plays a game? Pure speculation.
  10. Because it wasn’t. Pig pucky call I currently hate them but yeah, that’s a damn good defence.
  11. Yeah same, 01-11. 2005 was a protest year of sorts for me. Cancelled my seasons and only watched 2 games. I was furious the club held on to Jim Daley
  12. Those were the peak years of my obsessive fandom..Rough times lol
  13. Yup, Fair is fair. With that, let’s see how they use him this week if Brady is in fact out. Honestly, I see a win. BCs lineup isn’t super impressive, I feel we actually match up pretty well against them. I don’t really see a position group of theirs that will win out on a lot of consecutive plays. I mean, our OL kind of scares me until they show otherwise but I feel more confident about this game than the previous 2.
  14. Could very well be lol. Those Joe Mack drafts were the lowest level of terrible
  15. After seeing the roster, I like the whole lineup besides the center. Hey diddle diddle Kolo’s too little And the twist confuses him too Mike O’Shea smirked Cause the punter was fun What will become of the Blue?
  16. I like Bonds, I think he’s gonna be a good-great DB. Our secondary and DL will be the least of our worries, especially once guys come off the 6 game.
  17. At the very beginning of his career maybe. He had a hell of a motor in 2012
  18. I love watching all-22 film with NFL+, I’ve always wished the CFL had a similar service. It’s so hard to watch anything but the line (in slow motion, zoomed) on TV. Even then you’re assuming things And at least one bad drop
  19. I don’t mind him at dime for now. Honestly I’d like to see one of the new DBs eventually take over Holm’s spot and Holm at safety. I like Holm, but to me he’s the perfect FS for todays game, I legit think he could be best in the league. I like Jake Kelly for S too, but Holm is absolutely perfect for it imo 100%. I’ll never forget the time Reggie Hunt set the all time record for tackles in a game, because we were throwing to Roberts and Sellers all day long.
  20. I’ve seen it twice in my lifetime too. The 1995 Bombers fell off a cliff hard after 15ish or so winning seasons. They’d kept Matt Dunnigan instead of Danny Mac 2 years prior, but Dunnigan bolted for a new American team, and the Cal Murphy Bombers never recovered. They had a losing record and a one and done playoff appearance. The next year they brought in an aging Kent Austin to try and right the ship but it was too late, a 68-7 playoff loss cost Cal Murphy his job. The second time was in 2004, same story as now. Aging former MOP QB, most of the impact players on the team over 30. Only difference is back then we kept getting outbid for our own FAs/our guys coming back from the NFL. We wouldn’t have retained Schoen or Brady (or anybody) in those years. They couldn’t/didn’t want to pay Geroy Simon and Arland Bruce coming back from the NFL and let Brian Clark go to the stamps, among other poor outcomes. Had some younger talent in TC but Ritchie hated rookies, which was his downfall. He kept guys like Wickman, McGriggs, Elowonibi way too long. At least we got a couple cups out of this run before the leadership decided this place is Brigadoon in the off-season.
  21. Idk. I always thought he was kind of milquetoast, then I’ve heard him in more informal interviews/stories from others. Lapo’s f’n hilarious. Even last week on CJOB “Well, Derek Taylor’s taking about hookers on the golf course”
  22. Incompleterson transcended. My Dad even called him that.
  23. Yeah there was that whole thing. MOS would always seem more pissed on the radio after losing to Calgary too, but maybe just because they were the ones we could never get past at the time. Idk, I just realized we haven’t lost a meaningful game to them in like 5 years, pretty awsome actually. Nah, he’s playing well but he still looks like Fat Mac from Sunny. Bombers are 0-2, I need to at least be able to mock Calgary’s rotund quarterback tandem.
  24. Hey now, show some respect. That man’s a great snowboarder Slightly off topic but from their body language and brief postgame interactions, I don’t think MOS and the Dickinson brothers like each other all that much. Maybe if we get shitpumped by the Stamps, MOS will make some of the changes we need?
  25. Speaking of John Hodge, his brother Tim is cooler. I wish they’d reversed their roles after the podcast ended
