That's a false equivalency though. That has no bearing on the cap. Also overpaying and loading up with premium talent isn't the same as having a million bubble guys hoping to find the diamonds in the rough. I'm not saying it would work, but considering it's a soft-cap league I personally wouldn't mind seeing them be aggressive and going for it all with some overpayments for once.

In the last 5 years Collaros has started 58 games, or 11.6 games/year average. He's pretty much Buck Pierce 2.0 at this point.

Jennings has potential to improve, I could see taking a flyer at him. Collaros/Bridge/Davis are what they are. QB depth with any of those 3 playing an extended time and you're in trouble

LOVE the Jefferson signing. He was single handedly responsible for like 2 of the Riders wins. A true game changer on D

We probably have the best QB depth in the league, but also we're firmly the second tier in terms of high end talent. Tier one: Mitchell, Rielly Tier two: Nichols, Harris, Masoli Tier three: the rest. I would probably rather have Nichols over Harris at this point mostly just for continuity and he's coming in 100k cheaper, but we definitely lack the high end talent at this time. Hopefully Streveler usurps Nichols at some point, imo. Nichols really played awful in the Western Final, but hopefully that was just a one-off as he's generally played pretty well in playoffs.

Sask going to make a run and overpay for Harris? It would be tough to leave a starting job in the East to move to the uber-competitive West. The east boasts a turtle race with a much greater chance of playoff money and success.
