I've been out of coaching since 2010 but I still have friends that do. They tell me about practices with no pads or helmets. How kids play games running straight up & get hurt because they don't know enough about lowering their shoulder to protect themselves. Then some quit because they're scared. It used to be practices were tougher than games but apparently not anymore. And that Hawk tackling isn't recognized by Football Canada as being safe so it's not taught. They teach similar tackling without the head but with a different technique. Kids are being taught enough of the proper fundamentals. I'm glad I'm not involved anymore.

That's the way a lot of guys are. They have so so pro careers & become great coaches. Not many super star players have success as coaches.

Specifics? Did you read his book? It was pretty much covered there. Brock had severe back issues from a decade of pounding he took in the CFL & by the time he was playing in LA it had become a chronic condition. He missed time because of his back at Rams training camp as well as during the 85 season. In 1986, the Rams decided to move on from Brock & he retired. They signed veterans Steve Bartkowski & Steve Dils then traded for Jim Everett.

Well, he's getting rich being an OC in the NCAA.

High schoolers aren't in pads now more than once or twice a week during practices. They don't work on the fundamentals like players back even a decade ago. Kids are coming up not knowing how to block & tackle. Or how to protect themselves.

Allen won 3 Grey Cups with 3 different teams. He was the leading passer in the CFL at one time. You can't take that away from him. I used to think he was a lazy kind of player. Extremely talented & got by on that talent but not hard work. But a decade being away has made me appreciate what he accomplished as a player. Job 1 during the season is preparation & video study. & Allen did just that. A player can't be lazy & just gets by with talent alone. Johnny Manziel is proof of that.

Ray is Top10 but hard to slot him in with the Top 5 all time. Same with Tom Clements. Lanky only won a single GC while Etch put up big regular season numbers in the mid 50's but never won a league championship at all. My Top 5 Doug Flutie Warren Moon Damon Allen Ken Ploen Russ Jackson

Agree on that one. BLM is the better of the 2 qbs IMO. Reilly relies on his big play receivers to make great catches downfield while BLM can throw it deep or go on a ten play 85 yard drive. And don't forget Mitchell lost every one of his starting receivers last season & still played at a fairly high level & won the GC.

I don't understand why you're so upset at me for pointing out that an oversight was made. Let's not let accuracy get in the way here suddenly. I wasn't criticizing TrueBlue4ever. He's done a great job with this poll but I just pointed out a mistake was made & in turn he decided to correct it. He doesn't seem upset about it & just wants to make things right. There's been no harm done. Why would a player like Jim Thorpe who never played slot be listed as one? Is that fair to Thorpe going up against players he never would have been compared to? Same with Tuttle. This Blue Bomber poll has been done right so far so why change it now? If I have offended or upset TrueBlue4ever or anyone else here then I apologize as it was not my intention to do so.

I always felt that Brett seemed nervous when he couldn't be himself in front of the camera. He did flub a lot of lines while Owen seemed a little more at ease than his older brother. Owen was a way better heel than face

Perry Tuttle was a slot. He should have been in this group. Jim Thorpe was a flanker. He should have been in the other group.

He was better at cutting promos as well. Brett often would stumble on his lines.
