  1. For every one good game he plays, he goes out & plays 5 bad ones. This is his 4th year, at what point do analysts like LaPo stop calling him a young qb?
  2. Walters used to be one of the sharpest GM's in the CFL a few years ago. He was aggressive & took chances. He wasn't afraid to spend money & he had a lot of success. Lately, the past few years it's not even been close. We just can't have this kind of complacency by Walters or MOS. As far as Osh goes, some of his comments & decisions are like he lives in the 4th dimension. Things need to change.
  3. Kyle Walters better start general mangering now as he did nothing this past off season except sign a bunch of free agent scrubs for the most part while the real talent left. But hey, he saved a ton of cash on the team's bottom line. For that, we thank you Kyle. Said no Bomber fan, ever. Looks like Maas rushed him back. Big mistake. Every year it's the same.
  4. No, rolling it back would be worse. Bottom line, a player has to show he belongs by playing well. With Osh, if his faves don't play well, they still start & play. Nah, some posters here hated Dolegala on the roster last year.
  5. Taulia was released, I believe. Why would the Ti Cats trade us Powell? I'd have been happy if we kept Dolegala but he's tainted because he's a former Riders & posters here like no one who was a former Rider. With Collaros out, we're a mess at qb which means we're a mess as a team judging by that roster. As far as Artoepus goes, I remember a qb named John Schneider....
  6. There was no CFL directive telling teams not to use the new salary cap amount. Why would the CFL announce an increase only to draw it back? Do you know just how bush league that would be?? And if they did, how would this affect the teams who may or may not have applied the increase to their spending? Suddenly you have 9 teams all spending money to different levels. Some to the cap limit, others less & others to the floor. How would you police the teams that went over the old salary cap amount of $5.6 million? Would you claw back the money & take away draft picks? Likely not so the risk (even if there was one) would probably be minimal but then again, there'd be no point having a salary cap if each team spent differently. It's also been 6 months since the increase was announced. Nothing happened to the cap so the story that money may be moved into pensions away from the salary cap was false. As far as your argument goes that not spending on Lawler means we could spend the money elsewhere. Looking at that roster & the holes we now have everywhere, just where did we spend it? Yep, letting Lawler go sure strengthened our roster immensely. That's what happened to the Stampeders. Next Man Up is a great mantra until there isn't anyone to step up anymore as the cupboards are bare. Then, you have to restock.
  7. Rumour? What is it with you & Colin Unger saying the salary cap increase didn't happen or it's just a rumour? It's not a rumour & it did happen. The salary cap increase was announced by both the CFL & CFLPA last winter just after free agency started. The Bombers in their infinite wisdom decided to conduct business like the cap never increased which was the team's choice & the Bombers are now showing the effects of that decision on the playing field & in the standings. Just a question. How are we the kind of team that can't utilize a "luxury" like Kenny Lawler but every other CFL team can? That's like saying the San Francisco 49ers coudn't utilize the "luxury" of Jerry Rice. Or the Calgary Stampeders couldn't utilize the "luxury" of Allen Pitts. Do you think Milt Stegall was a "luxury" when he didn't always have great qbs throwing him the ball when he played? During his time in Winnipeg, Stegall played with some real stinky starting qbs like Sammy Garza, Shawn Moore, TJ Rubley, Kevin McDougall, Chris Vargas, Mike Quinn, Pat Barnes, Troy Kopp, Kevin Mason, Michael Bishop, Timmy Chang, Kerwin Bell, Reggie Slack, Stefan LeFors & Ryan Dinwiddie. He had to play with guys that had no business putting on a Bomber jersey let alone starting. However, as Stegall is the all time greatest receiver in CFL history, he obviously made the most of it. Lawler a luxury?? C'mon, man. Here's the announcement by the CFL on it's website last February of the salary cap increase. I actually don't believe that I have to post this to prove it's true. Wake up, people!! Pay attention! https://www.cfl.ca/2025/02/05/2025-salary-cap-increase-driven-by-2024-league-revenue-growth/
  8. Arrogance & stubborness.
  9. Collaros had a multi year deal & then signed an extension so I think 50% of his final year is guaranteed. Yep, this management & coaching team has made some dreadful mistakes pver the years with the mismanagemnet of the roster under the salary cap. As well as who they kepy & releasd. I was an abashed Walters fan but since he signed this last deal he really hasn't done anything. Except let players walk. Osh is Osh. With him nothing ever changes.
  10. They had talent & let them go after the past few seasons. We never replacd the guys we needed that left. "Everyone's a starter" & "Next Man Up!!" says our Head Coach.. That only works if you have talent & depth. Once you begin starting the scrubs then there is no NMU. It happened to Calgary after 2018 & looks like it'll happen here.
  11. So, Mitchell doesn't look for Lawler every play? The only other playmaker in that passing offense is Tim White. If Lawler is an A then White is a C. As far as moving on from Zach, just who are we going to move on to? Have you checked our qb roster? There's nothing to move on to. I'd be for starting Wilson at qb just to see if he has a chance to be an actual starter for us.
  12. I said no about 3 times. Did a football hit you in the head damaging your brain?
  13. My point is we have 2 guys on the roster in Kolo & Thomas drawing $250-300,000 & are no longer effective players. We pay them & let lawler go as we don't want to pay what Hamilton is paying.
  14. This is a huge problem. The stubborness & arrogance of our Head Coach.
  15. How much are Jake & Kolo making? Guys that are cooked & making close to $300,000 between the two of them. We pay guys who shouldn;t be starters & let a star player go. There were ways to make Lawler stay financially. Again, Walters did nothing.
  16. Look at our stats. We suck at receiver. Maybe Woli was a bad example, I agree but look what's happened to our receiving group. We had chances to sign available free agents out there like Dominique Rhymes this past off season. We chose not to. Just like we sat pat on the DL.
  17. Mike O'Shea makes some strange decisions as a coach & his decisions are a major contributor to put us in the position we're in. However, I blame Kyle Walterss for the team we have now. We had a disastrous off season. You could tell the talent level for our starterss took a nosedive onc free agency started & we are also razor thin for depth. The shocking thng is Kyle Walters was the architect of the steaming pile of garbage we have now. He did nothing all off season or for a number of seasons befor that going back to 2022. He let people leave & did nothing to replace them. We had trememdous depth at the time & over the years it's been whittled away. If that's the kind of of general managing he's going to do then let him go do it somewhere else. He needs to get his head out of his ass & actually start doing something. Even though it's kinda late now. This could be a lost season.
  18. Walters dismantled our receiving corps letting Lawler & Woli go. You can see just how much better the Stamps receivers are compared to us. Our DL is just terrible. Our secondary was confused all night & had no answer for Vernon Adams throwing the ball. You get what you paid for.
  19. I thought I had 3 strikes & was out. Turns out, I only had two. Didn't realize we had five. If I'm still able, I know I just passed the deadline but can I still make my pick? If not, i'll take my lumps this week. Brady Oliveira.
  20. No, you NEVER base your opinions here like they're fact. Like everyone else is wrong & you're always right. I guess you're truly the only smart guy here.
  21. My impression was that when the game got tight Arbuckle reverted back to the qb we know & are used to seeing. That pick he threw late killed the Argos. Arbuckle has to be able to put all his fears & doubts aside & win games under pressure. I thought perhaps this game might be the one that propelled his career to new heights but then he "Arbuckled" his team. He can't win the big games as he falls apart. Except against us in the Grey Cup.
  22. I was going to mention Grant but you beat me to it.
  23. Why can't the CFL have a draft of American & international players? Say 8 rounds separate from the CFL draft of Canadans now to generate interest. These secret Neg Lists go back to the 1960's. It's time to change the way the CFL conducts business. Now, I'm not advocating the league goes out & drafts players that will be NFL automatics but there are players from the fourth round down that will never make an NFL team or some that'll never be drafted. I think CFL fans would be interested in finding out who their teams drafted & finding out more about them. Just my take.
  24. That's what posters here that you were arguing with were saying that personnel decisions & the management of our cap is puzzling with the decisions made. We're not disloyal to question just WTH is going on. This has been a long time thing with Osh as he plays favourites. We get rid of guys who could still contribute like Lawler & let players walk in free agency. Then not replacing them.
  25. Mount up! Move out!! Rider Nation can't spell let alone count. It's Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders. Not Roughriders.
