  1. We signed Left Tackle Stanley Bryant. Then brought in that gargantuan sized American Right Guard in Travis Bond, traded for Canadian Guard Pat Neufeld along with Right Tackle Jamarcus Hardrick. Then drafted Right Guard Sukh Chungh, Guard & Center Michael Couture & Crnter Matthias Goosen. Walters transformed our OL in a very short time from one of the all time worst to one of the best.. Stanley was the first he signed as a FA & has had the most high impact on the OL at Left Tackle. You're probably half serious.
  2. Nah, Schmeckel may be bad but he's not the worst all time. The two worst players over the past 60 years I ever saw play were two qbs... John Schneider & Jason Boltus. They were damned awful.
  3. If you put good people in place in mgmt & on the sidelines then a team should be able to overcome any expansion deficiencies they may have had especially with free agents coming & going in the CFL like they do. Which is why I hated the way the Expansion Draft was tilted heavily in favour of Ottawa but hurt struggling teams like Winnipeg (3-15 in 2013) & Edmonton (4-14 in 2013). Look at the Bombers in 2013. Basically a team totally bereft of talent save for a couple of players. We really couldn't afford to lose anyone & yet we were forced to do so. Then forced to draft second behind Ottawa that spring as if there wasn't enough insult added to injury. Still, our new GM & HC were able to build something in the following seasons while the RedBlacks struggled mightily at times. Save for one GC winning season in 2017 with a win over the heavily favoured Stamps. Since their first game in 2014 & including all games this season the RedBlacks have gone 54-96-1 with one Grey Cup win during the regular season. The Bombers, a team that Marcel Desjardins laughed at during the 2013 Expansion Draft have gone 92-62 with two Grey Cup victories. It was great managing by Walters & coaching by O'Shea that made for an incredibe turnaround in our team's fortunes compared to Ottawa. Pretty heady days for the RedBlacks organization & their fans ten years ago thinking they had it made in the shade. That the good times would never end. Ottawa found out something the hard way, though. That it was a lot easier to build a roster from the ground up in an expansion draft & getting to $5 million in salary cap money one player at a time from the ground floor, then manage free agency & drafting all from scratch. Then in seasons afterwards, the difficulty of managing a complete roster & trying to sign back key free agents without losing them while bringing in others from different CFL teams. Trying to sign players while staying within the salary cap isn't easy. That's a whole new thing that Ottawa has absolutely failed in. It was so easy that first year & so very hard after that as Desjardins & then Burke found out.
  4. Pretty easy to be a dink here & then blame it on your warped sense of humour.
  5. You can pick & choose whom you want to talk to. Or to just read the comments. Your choice.
  6. I won't go into a Burger King with that Neandertal singing "BK, have it your way."
  7. That's two seasons away. I'm only interested in this season. The day after our Grey Cup win I'll start concerning myself with 2024.
  8. If I was a player, I'd have no problem knowing the extent of an injury or expected return date. I would have a problem with someone publishing my salary details on my contract as that isn't my business. I would be very upset about that. As a fan who puts money down for tickets & is heavily invested in the Bombers, I definitely want to know about the state of players who are injured & when they might be back. The CFL also wants to make money on single game betting. Keeping injuries a secret doen't help with that at all. I think most players have no issue letting the fans & media know when they're injured & when they expect to be back. I mean, last night I'm watching NFL TNF. There was a picture of Aaron Rodgers from his hospital bed tweeting that surgery on his torn achilles today in Los Angeles was a success. He was fine letting the world know about it. If one of the highest paid qbs in the NFL like Aaron Rodgers has no issues then why should a CFL linebacker, for example have a problem? Most people here know I had a knee replacement last April. I have no problems talking about it.
  9. "New here???" Says the guy who suddenly showed up one day probably under a new name. I can't prove it, of course but I don't need a smell test to know when something has gone rotten. Save your lectures on morality for elsewhere. We don't need them here from you. And one more thing, don't apologize when you don't mean it.
  10. Darn & just when I thought you may be a legit new member here. You obviously changed your name & now we don't know who you were before which is a cowardly way of doing things on a social media site. I don't think I deserved what you said as I barely acknowledged you were here before. i If you were following my converstaion with Gordo you'd know he questioned why I wanted to know about player injuries & basically said it's no one's business, including mine. Yet there he was barely a day later speculating on who may or may not play based on an injury practice report. So, I asked him why he suddenly cared. I was just carrying on our discussion albeit on another thread. Finally, to answer your question, No I don't. I'm especially glad that I'm not you.
  11. Question, Gordie: Why are you reporting on player injuries & who may or may not play for both teams? After all, you were the one who told me that it's really none of my business who plays as injuries to players don't affect my life. Why are you so interested all of a sudden as the injuries listed above certainly don't affect your life? You also asked, how are teams supposed to know in advance when players are well enough to play? So then, what gives?? Just askin' for a friend.
  12. They were done when they hired Marcel Desjardins & then later Sean Burke. Two guys who never won anything as a GM. Going back to 2013 Expansion Draft, & allowing an expansion team to raid other team's rosters in order to be competitive right from the start doesn't guarantee long term success. Killing one team to help another is stupid & short sighted. As the RedBlacks & the team's fans have found out. The team's record since their inception is 54-96-2. Hiring thw right people to manage, scout & coach are. What a tire fire of disaster that organization is.
  13. Harris wouldn't take a paycut to play behind Brady but was willing to play behind Ouelette in Toronto. SMH.
  14. My Dog barks at Rex when he's on tv. In the doggo world it doesn't get any better than that.
  15. Okie, doke Gordie, I didn't realize in the first part of the 21st Cenrury, I had to spell it out for you. It's called medical science. We employ a number of medical specialists such as physiotherapists & surgeons. Each injury & surgery has an expected recovery rate from weeks to months garnered from years of medical study. And, while we're on this topic, I'll take your tact, What the hell business is it for you or any of us to know what players are paid? How is that going to affect you??? In no way does knowing have anything to do with your life.
  16. This was to my knowledge, Gerry Anderson's first foray into children's sci fi on tv in 1960. I remember this show well. I used to race home to watch it after school on CBC. Then Gerry Anderson came up with Fireball XL-5 in 1962.
  17. Am I the only one who thinks it's crazy that CFL teams will tell the world what they're paying their players publicly but a sprained ankle is still a lower body injury with no return date ever listed?
  18. I knew you were being sarcastic. I was just stating a fact here. I wasn't impressed much with your comments last week.
  19. Nye never picks us anyway so big deal.
  20. We were once mods on a CFL site nearly 20 years ago. I found him to be unstable. The guy is wacked. He wanted to fight me as well. He hated the fact I was a Bomber fan & I used to make fun of Regina (which to him, is Mevcca). And I constantly reminded him of it. He's always been a fool.
  21. He was the start. We filled in the pieces after that. Guards are generally the final pieces.
  22. Last week you were telling us the Bombers were a bunch of cowards for not standing up for Collaros. That you wanted blood. Now you're concerned about fans being overconfident? Fans that don't play the game. You're all over the place. I think the babble you spew hurts your brain.
  23. It was probably Migs. ******* loser.
  24. The 1972 Western Final. Game tied 21-21. Four separate punts back & forth twice in & out of the end zone by both teams on the second last play of the game off a wide Jack Abendschan FG attempt by the Riders. The first place 10-6 Bombers Bombers flagged by those ******* officials for No Yards. Ball moved 15 yards closer to the goalposts. Abendschan's second attempt was good & we lost to the 9-9 third place Riders that season by a score of 24-21. A team we owned during the regular season. That game haunted me for 37 years until Cody Fajardo's pass hit the goalpost on third down on the last play of the 2019 Western Final & we beat those sodbusters in a similarily painful way that game. It took a long time but justice was finally served.
  25. Brown doesn't have a big body of work to go on. You never know, he may be willing to stay here another year on a 1 year contract. He has to see guys like Crum, Arbuckle & Cornelius struggling & wonder if it won't happen to him on worse teams. Or.... maybe not. Just take the money & run.
