  1. That's what he said. That's the "Trudeau" in him. Stay so long that you become a villain and then stay a bit longer. The party needs to take control back. Trudeau is a powerful, powerful person in the Liberal party and he controls a ton. It's not unlike the way Harper controlled the CPCs.
  2. When did conservatives decide that the free market was so bad and desperately want gov't intervention?
  3. Liberals need to do some soul searching too. Trudeau is not popular and they need to transition to the next leader soon. Why won't they just do it now, while it's safe to do so? They're trying to implode. And to not raise the abortion issue. Can't forget that. But they won't. Not now, at least. They just ousted the leader that was trying to pull them to the middle because he was doing so. It's just a long drawn out process.
  4. 40 years ago. Reagan was the first. They can ignore history all they want but they won't govern this country with that stance. Harper realized this, which is why he lured the small "c" conservatives with tax and spending cuts.
  5. I guess you have to ask yourself if you still identify with the party. The party has left many people, not the other way around. But, soon, the people will leave the party. You just need to look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, how low can they go? They just rejected it climate change and want to pretend everything will be okay. They've been anti-science for at least two generations now. And, it's playing itself out in the pandemic, ignoring science.
  6. They're banning books in schools because they are so ashamed of their own history that they are afraid to teach their children about it. Banning the books is the first step. As soon as they realize that people can still find them and read them, they'll ban their sale. In time, they'll just burn them to be certain. It's all been done before.
  7. The "two year extension" is the most intriguing part for me. Obviously, no contracts are guaranteed but I doubt Walters would give him two years if they didn't expect him to be here for two years.
  8. This is what the GOP and (now) CPC are hoping for:
  9. CPC are just the PPC. The ****ing worst people imaginable. The wingnuts are in the CPC. They run the CPC. It's the same party.
  10. Oh, good, more years losing to MSU and OSU.
  11. But, you're looking at this from the 2004 CPC view, not the view of the PCs when the Reform branched off. That's where they are headed. I have no doubt. Maybe, in time, they'll come back together and head back to the middle but today, they are in the process of tearing themselves apart. This is same as the end of the Mulroney years. But, Harper is Mulroney this time and the breakup is taking longer.
  12. All of his business is in town and he's leaning on his name to build it. The academy would be fine without him but it thrives with him here. Plus he has his fingers in other pies too. I think Harris is a full partner in this deal. I think he's been working with Walters. Just my opinion based on how he and the team operate.
  13. Bad footwork on the OLs part, IMO. Too slow and got knocked on his butt because of it.
  14. It's time, once again, for the party to split.
  15. Here's some Cancon from the Shrine Bowl for your viewing pleasure:
  16. I don't see Wall being big with the Ontario crowd. You need someone like Raitt, a Bay-Streeter, who can shut up the fringe. If the PPC was half competent, they could pull wackos out of the CPC but they aren't. You can't keep them happy unless you shut them up. Sheer was one of them and O'Toole was hopeless.
  17. The lowest of the low in that party.
  18. Darby has been all over Twitter each time someone is re-upped. I'm confident that Walters and Darby will find a mutually agreeable price for his services.
  19. Ryan was not a good CFL punter when he came back. I know that the Riders faithful thinking booming kicks into the end zone is a winning strategy but it wasn't. The Riders team knows this, which is why they are moving on. However, Ryan had a long career and could have just retired after leaving the Seachickens. I doubt the money he got from the Riders made much of a difference in his life but he chose to come back to play for his home team. I have a lot of respect for him for doing something that he just wanted to do. Also, the Ryan's have donated money to the Regina Rams. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/meet-the-riders-jon-ryan-1.5266749 https://regina.ctvnews.ca/jon-ryan-and-family-establish-scholarship-with-record-setting-donation-1.5655861 I have a lot of respect for him despite some of the jerseys he wore.
  20. The CPC actually sunk lower. Couldn't imagine it was possible.
