Ya, I can see how you can easily confuse when you last talked with Buono. I do it all the time.
I'm sure you have never input the wrong word while typing in your life, right?

Actually, the site is quite useful. Spoke to Wally Buono about it last year and he admitted it was indeed fairly accurate, although not precise. Best tool available to gauge spending, that I'm aware of at least.
That's interesting, seen as how it didn't exist last year.
Sorry, should have said month not year. My apologies.

? I only ask the question because should we be investing more money on the defence?
I don't think Ray would help this team at all.
Seriously! Have you been watching the team this year? Willy cant be depended on to play 18 games in a season.
But again the point of the post is should we be spending probably $250,000on a defensive player.
So you think putting an aging QB that has missed large chunks of two of the last three years because of injury behind this putrid o-line would improve the situation? Ray would need to be scraped off the turf within a game or two!
Read the bolded section please.
One player figures to have a long career anchoring the defense and the other will be retiring in the next year or two. Rather obvious don't you think?

If price was the same. Would you take Henoc Muamba or Ricky Ray? I only ask the question because should we be investing more money on the defence?

With almost the entire second half of the season remaining, only one team in the league has less than a million dollars to spend. Not exactly money well spent......
From CFLCapGeek:
Win $945KMon $1,253MTor $1,398MSas $1,533MOtt $1,564MHam $1,699MCal $1,800MEdm $1,975MBC $2,127M -

They already have their long term starter in place and now have themselves a back-up with some potential so why on earth would they trade for Ray? Stay the course with Willy and Marve while continuing to try and build a strong o-line. Ray wouldn't last a month behind the crap that the Bombers have fielded over the last few years (couldn't even stay healthy behind a much better group in Toronto)..

People keep complaining about Picard & want to see Goosen. Even with all the injuries on the OL he doesn't get playing time. Sukh Chung has played every down this year & he's a rookie. Goosen has been here nearly 2 seasons now & can't start. Nah, keep him on the bench as he's not ready.
The fact that the Bombers signed Picard should tell you all you need to know. They obviously don't think Goosen can do the job yet (ever??) or they wouldn't have spent the money on a vet.

Can see the flag being called back on a running play. The real kicker was the screen pass. How do you justify that?
I don't think that one was a PI flag. I suspect it was blocking before the receiver catches the ball, which is picked up if the ball is caught behind the LOS.
Yup, I'm sure that was the call.

Good play by the Argo end he did not bit in the running back made a play. If he crashes down Marve picks up 20 yards.
Exactly. Marve runs for first down easily had it not been for a smart play by the Argo player (Foley?). Still, an odd play call with the game on the line.

According to Liram, the ball can be positioned anywhere between the hashmarks on convert attempts. No excuse to be missing so many early in the year, but I'm sure he'll turn things around. Hope so anyway......

Pretty obvious that Marve is now the back-up after Brohm's terrible performance versus Hamilton. It was even reported somewhere in the media (don't remember where though) that Marve was taking the back-up reps in practice and Brohm was working with the short yardage unit. It was only a matter of time......

Figures that the starting QB (Lulay) most thought wouldn't make it through the season, turns out to be one of the few who has a chance to do just that! His arm looks good but they should still be using Harris and the running game more.
-
If Brohm starts this week, we will see a different, much better, Brian Brohm.
If Brohm starts this week, the Al's defense is going to have a really fun night.....

Interesting how Ottawa can pick up other team's scraps in the expansion draft, sign a few free agents and make a trade or two and still field a solid defense last year (and so far this season as well). Just imagine how good they'd be if they had any kind of offense that could give them a breather every once in a while.....
-
We're getting to see why they took the defensive reigns away from him in Sask last year. On a brighter note, because of the score being what it is, the Bombers may actually hold the Ti-Cats to under 500 yards! Hey, baby steps people, baby steps.........

I'm okay with Hall, but it is a very Greg Marshall game plan...
Rennie Curran would be a nice addition - maybe Burnett can do some damage
...but Osh will definitely give Hurl a few games if not half the season... too bad, I actually think Sherman or Newman at WIL causes less damage
Hurl was over-committing on almost every play tonight, expected that from Henoc in his first 3-4 games but not from a guy who's played MLB (with Hall) for half a season. Doesn't have speed to recover.
Maybe our DL was under-sized... and still is
The reporter from Regina on the pre-game show said he was doing the same thing last year and it cost him his job; likely going to happen here as well.

Why the Riders even bothered passing the ball is beyond me but we'll take the win nonetheless. Bombers better find some linebacking help or we're in for another long season defensively.

Trevor Harris sure looks good; no wonder the Argos weren't concerned about losing Collaros last year.

He said it's best used to determine what teams are spending the most and to give an approximation only of the amount of cap room that's available. Makes sense that the Bombers would have the least left under the cap when you consider how they've spent like drunken sailors this year due to their hosting the Grey Cup.
