  1. A few happened. Harris was shredding their standard defense early, Cal adjusted with run blitzes and gap cancellation in running downs. We ran a few heavy set formations and their adjustments didnt beat it. But our passing offense is pretty limited with 3 wrs on the field. The 2nd quarter was the hole in our run game. We ran harris 4 times for 8 yards with a long of 5 in the 2nd. Vs 5 for 37 and a td in the first quarter. The drops killed a couple drives in the 2nd quarter, and we fell into a rhythm of running 2nd and long plays on first down and 1st down short passes on 2nd. (the plop approach). We got back into the run first scheme late in the 3rd 3 rushes for 23 yards. And 6 for 21 in the 4th. We needed better use of play action, and screen passes to force the calgary defense out of the box. And to run some off tackle stuff when they stack the box. Instead we ran right into the teeth of defensive adjustments in the 2nd quarter. Out side of that quarter harris went 14 for 73 which is over 5 yards per carry. And that included multiple runs back to back and late in the game into goal line defense. If we dont get into a funk with the drops and play calling harris probably has a monster game. He certainly didnt look tired or slow late in the game if any thing he ran angry after the stamps DL used him as a pull out mattress and had a nice long nap on him. We should add a shovel pass to the offense. Collaros looks great running and throwing on the run. Adding a power toss would be a great way to get harris out side of a stacked box in a hurry and on some DBs. The return of screen passes and release valve game would add alot, though they need to be faster screens. No one is falling for these long slow developing screen plays of ours. Finally some better use of the play action and draw would open things up a lot. Teams will cheat for the run hard against us. We can use that to our advantage in a big way.
  2. holy crap.
  3. If he's playing hcf short zones lined up at an olb spot he can do that but not more and even then it's poor usage. We should've sat tobi and dressed an imp db.
  4. Probably what happens. But if we don't adjust to what they do offensively they will sweep us. Not only are they the best timing route and seam attacking passing game they have the best running qb and a strong balanced offense over all. We can handle that ol if we can make Fajardo hold the ball long enough. Big moment for our coaches
  5. It isnt. He just isn't being put in a position to play to his strengths. He should be dropping back a lot on pass downs playing a shadow mid zone. He should not be blitzing a lot or playing sam.
  6. Im worried about the riders the next two weeks though. They are better than to and cal. And they do what those teams did well against our d as their bread and butter. We will need to have the best coached and executed game of the year so far to win.
  7. Leggs said the miss he just got too much under it. And he saw the clock run out. Glad he dug us out of it though. Mentally tough especially for a rookie. Mcguire is the holder.
  8. Not if its at your ankles, or a few footballs behind your body. Superior size and athleticism allow guys to make plays look closer than they were. And also, double or triple cover. Even if you touch it its not a drop. Or if the db is on you with hands inside your arms. You can touch it, but its not a drop. Collaros does throw the short stuff like its a 50 yard bomb. Which especially on come backs isnt easy. That can contribute to croc arms. He had 2 badly behind him last week and one nearly bounce. All our wrs do. But when lawler and woli are having trouble, and all the wrs are having trouble its not talent or one or two guys. We have larger problems contributing to the drops. I believe it. He has been a fraction of the player he normally is in his 2 games. Id rather they get him healthy than he play banged up. We dont use patterns to create openings. We dont attack the middle or the seams and we havent been using play action well which is what we normally depend on. We have been massively reliant on outs and come back routes and at this point every team knows it. The same way our slow developing screen game seldom yields big plays.
  9. I credit collaros for throwing down field on those, we didnt open up the play call or any thing though. 2 deep throws and not really designed deep plays.
  10. On d. Not soo much on O. And then randomly mid way through the 4th we went back to what didnt work.
  11. Youre being too hard on wrs then expecting them to make catches in tripple coverage. Id put him at 3. And adams had more last week alone. Its not like permanent wienke mode or madden. A pass can be incomplete in your catch radius and not be a drop. The drop tnite where he tried to body catch concerns me a lot though. Im seeing a lot of our guys trying to body catch. They may not be getting enough juggs time / reps during the week.
  12. Yeah all he does is bullrush, Its painful watching him with a massive burst and gap just launching into OL when they stand up rush him. Honestly if they want to rush a lber, run 3 de's. Willy jackson and kongbo all have the speed and range to play lber. Move one around and use him as a jack lber. Could even put sayles jake and walker in a 30 over front with say jeffcoat on the edge and bring willy in as a jack lber. Have all 3 dts attack the gaps and watch the ol scramble.
  13. Un fortunately due to uncontrollably circumstances i cant go to games so im nerding it out with 2 screens Demski was having a great year aside from the usual demski stuff here n there, and is critical in how we stretch the field laterally to open passing and running lanes. Hope hes healthy soon.
  14. Hed be pretty ideal as an ILB in a 30 front system. He could develop into a regular starter, a ratio breaker but in our system idk I think a guy like roc fits better. Hes the best wr on our team by a country mile right now, no risk of that happening. He dropped 1 pass. Darvin has dropped twice as many as him in half the games.
  15. Id much rather have duke. Michel can return too though.
  16. Jake saw very very few reps tnite. We went with briggs and gauthier with walker and sayles a TON. Tobi antigha was even in at dt and end a bunch.
  17. I just dont get it. After soo long, how does hall not understand his blitzes dont get pressure. 37 games for biggie. 8 sacks. No less than 200 times hes been blitzed.
  18. Sayles and walker did as much as any DT could. Both had big TFLs tnite and sayles had a big one last week. Walker had 2 qb pressures tonight too. Both weeks the teams got rid of the ball before they could really do any thing. Same as the ends. When we stopped the stupid fronts we started getting pressures. 100% of the problem is the defensive play call. We put bighill at sam, and put all our front 7 on the line. If the O can create a gap, which zone blocking is good at, the runner has a straight path to the secondary. The touch was before he was down, it doesnt count as a downed player. It wasnt even close. You have to touch the guy once hes down. Calgary didnt do that.
  19. The only block ive seen him miss back to pre play off run. If he was gone, youd cry your self to sleep watching him play for other teams. 100% guaranteed. Antigha saw lots of reps tnite actually. 10+. No reason to move alexander to sam. Darby was good, alexander knows all the ins and out of our D from every position having played it. Darby is fast. It would just throw off player continuity. The problem tonight was crazy deep zones. The old hall special. That one is baffling. The other one, the crapmaned center made a bad call. But they had lots of looks at it. No way they'd have then over turned it. The league should come down on that, thats the 2nd time the CC over turned a play that clearly did NOT have indisputable evidence. This is true, but having kyrie or rocq back would be great. Those guys are better as rotational players not starters.
  20. Cant teach an old dog new tricks. I think he will always tend to revert to that given the chance. They didnt miss a pass for soo long we adjusted and started getting stops. Then suddenly in the 4th quarter he went right back to it again. Its mind blowing.
  21. Yeah. Not on him
  22. Bighill was great when not at sam Hall mysteriously going back to default for some reason
  23. Gin washing down heart meds blue Nation wide
  24. Damn that was down to the wire.
  25. 1 legs missed an extra and the last but won it 2 collaros. Should've had a lot more too many drops 3 Bailey one drop one big catch and a few good ones Hh the fumble was huge by Jones Honorable mentions to Harris
