Eh the rust factor is real. They both haven't played since the Grey Cup and had limited reps in tc. We have a new oc too. I don't think those guys will start this week. Even if they are 100 percent healthy they won't have reps or have shaken off the rust.

Labbatte is replacement level around the league at best. He wouldnt crack our top 7. Hes not a top guard and hasnt been in a good while. You dont have to be a good player, the biggest busts in nfl history got multiple chances. If you are big and athletic but cant play a lick you can get multiple looks. Even more so if you are an outlier in size or speed for your nfl position. The NFL has a massive number of players invited to camp, not all of them are good players and many of them have been in other camps or will be. Pat barnes was not a good player. Bond was a huge dollar pick up, he was brought in and then moved to T. We saw previously here he couldnt excel at tackle. You dont sign a huge dollar vet all star ol only hoping he could play another position then cut him. Thats revisionist history. With both bond and dennis the riders though they could plug new pieces into a bad OL and cure the bad OL. But thats not how it works. OL more than any other position is not the sum of its parts. Its the strength of the group as a unit. Pinching the tackles for gap elimination is not harder on the tackle its the other way around. Playing tackle on an island is harder. Its also some thing every team does situationally. Especially if you primarily run man blocking schemes instead of zone.

Sacks aren't the be all and end all stat for an ol. Fajardo ran for his life and avoided a bunch of sacks. The number of pressures given up by the ssk ol was among the worst. A hofer past his prime is not an asset. In Winnipeg we've had a few of those guys over the years. Allstar status in the cfl is junk. We've seen Allstars one year un signed by any team the next year. It's a popularity contest among good teams. Not an indicator of success. Sitting on a pr in the NFL as an ol also does not mean you can play it means you have potential and size. The worst teams and units make poor use of good talent. And even at that who is projecting this plus bad olines cycle through other teams former guys like crazy trying to find replacements. Good teams do this and succeed like we did with bond Hardrick and Neufeld. Bad teams do this and fail to utilize players well and cut good players. Like the riders cutting bond dennis etc. We've seen in the past every team get rid of or not retain a depth guy for a vet only for the depth guy to grow into a star. Bad teams cling to old Bad players and let good players go all the time.

I don't think it's Jake or Kongbo at all if healthy. I like wil is the deciding factor. I don't think we keep Antigha rocq and kyrie all on the roster long term. I think onyeka is likely to draw in for teams play. Also I see more reps for kongbo and hansen this year. Briggs could also get more reps on d.

Nailed it other wise though. Gonna be interesting to see who is healthy this week. I hope to see rose as a back up dt this year at some point. I love linemen who can run. They can be huge on teams.

Grant will be in for sure. At some point I think they pick one of antigha and rocquemore in order to carry an extra wr or db. Our dl depth is pretty stellar. Though I'm not sure kyrie will be ready week 1.

Given what we heard from camp reports I think itll be Eli as well. It was sounding like he almost ran away with the starting job for a while. Havent heard any thing from camp, but as of yet gray hasnt taken a next step so if eli has im sure itll be gray on the in active list.

Harris also had his way with the cats d. And so did our ol. I feel like McKnight would be great in the slot. You don't often find diminutive wrs with such great quickness. I can't wait to see a few of these guys in game.

Could be darby either not starting or used as DI. He was traded for half way through camp and missed some time after he did arrive. They added him half way through last month. No, I think the surprises will be based on who is healthy to start out. Im betting we have guys on the pr/taxi who will be on the gameday roster. I think meredith on the PR is mostly based on his health and maybe needing a bit more practice time. Other wise not many surprises. James tyrell (ni), kelvin mcknight and ardarius stewart make the wr core. Im sure we will see agudosi and meredith at some point. Antigua and rocquemore both on the roster as imp lbers is interesting, I think some thing will give there. Casey sayles makes the roster, and im sure we will see rose and his speed at dt at some point. 12 dbs, 9 of which are imp im sure will see some movement there too. Probably going to be a couple guys on the IR to start.

Yeah that cut down is the biggest cut day mess ive seen in a long time. I cant imagine judge would be the odd man out. I wonder if the the argos are just going wild on the phones trying to cut a deal to get some value from vets they are about to cut right now. Gonna be interesting thats for sure.

The argos are busy today. I feel like its never a good sign when the team that "won" free agency is scooping other teams cuts on cut down day before making their own.

It would help if we did more off tackle stuff. I'd love to see a spray chart on his runs. Brady is pretty ideal to eat up some of the inside reps. Quickness to cut back or shake and bake and the 230 lbs of bowling ball to run through any arms and a bunch of bodies. I hope he pans out and stays healthy. I think you just figured out how it really got hurt in the first place!

Funny thing is medlock fell out of the NFL and ended up here because he got em down south. I wish they would've had him as a guest coach to work with him in camp. Oh man he looks like streveler rubbed off on him lol. Probably by next year at latest I imagine.
