He’s good in pass pro at guard, but he isn’t a tackle. When he’s in as the 6th ol he shouldn’t be at te especially in pass pro. He’s a guard, Eli a C. He can play c some. The second pre season game his snaps improved a lot. But Eli is a c through and through. -

If we have a nose, having two light fast guys like that at mac and wil makes a lot of sense. If we don't, well even biggie isn't big enough to fight through ol disengage and make stops. The nature of defense in the cfl these days is that you really play a 4-2 with 2 ILBs instead of a wil/mac even. And they see a lot more coverage responsibilities on skill players. -

I think Jeffcoat needs to be cheaper, and be the 3rd end at this point. he's still really good, but we need a guy who will play more than half a season as a go to guy making that elite money. For brown, he might be a gooder, but I don't think he will be the fit or the right time line for us. And I wouldn't want to be paying him 200k+ We do, and it might be time to go into the FA pool for OL as well. Lber would be big, and some secondary pieces need adressing. -

That is a reasonable point, each one has had big games. However every qb has had a huge game. And it's hard to compare collaros putting up 5 tds in a half to vaj putting up 4 over 4 quarters. If we want to look at the single most dominant game a player had, or how many dominant games I think that has it's own validity. But I dont think a guy should be MOP, based on 3 or 4 games in an 18 game schedule. Betts like jefferson had a couple monster games in the first 1/3 or so and hasn't done much in the last half of the season. They don't deserve it any more than the qbs imo. Argos ol, and secondary, DBs in general like Nichols, deserve strong consideration in a year like this. That is one of the most Toronto things I've seen. Right up there with the Leafs/raptors/jays losing, bad restaurants, hipsters with man buns, and traffic that makes people wish they lived in hamilton. -

Agree with all that. I think the last real OL we drafted was Dobson, which is crazy. In the off season I think we likely lose brown, and have to get another developmental guy. But I think we also need to bring in a capable back up. Either strevy or a league vet. -

How long was the stamps dominant streak? Lot more than two seasons ya. Great teams hit tipping points fast and 2019-2024 is a long time for a core to be together. Idk how the mafia and the fan base manages a rebuild that involves missing the play offs. but if they don’t do a large scale over haul in this off season we will find out just in time for our turn to host the gc. And I don’t think miller, walters or the board will accept continual down slide going into our gc year. -

How did tor and us do with our our qb1 s? Yeah they faired the best with ease. -
Soo true. Teams are soo often one first down away from a long fg. Drives me crazy.

I mean props to the Leo’s for making some hype for it. Gravy bowl is pretty funny. Any time a guy takes a vet day and misses a day of practice they have to go as gtd/ questionable. I didn’t see maybe he took a vet day. Last time we started Dobson when gray wasn’t able to go. I imagine they will do the same to have Eli as the back up c in case kola goes down.

I don’t think any of the QBs are mop candidates but they all will be. No one wants to give it to a defensive player. Probably not a rb either sadly. If the lions beat the bombers in the play offs and go to the gc, betts will be the moc too. WRs deserve more chance at it this year. Schoen should be over collaros rn. If brown was in ouellettes spot in tor he would be on the list as well. If the elk magically made the play offs ford would be too. -

Wr Juco kid puts up. 500 receiving 600 rushing. Goes to ol state 280 receiving 500 rushing yards 1 td kicked off team. Goes to west Alabama 400 yards receiving 200 rushing 2 tds. Reached for in the nfl draft as a kr because he has electric testing numbers. Now tyreek hill has over 8k nfl receiving yards 750 rushing and 75 total tds with a bazillion dollars He was one year with out reps away from being on the fringe of an nfl pr and out the door. The imp talent pool is insanely deep, and the talent difference between guys we cut and guys who make nfl rosters is astonishingly small. Chad Johnson has made this abundantly clear since his attempt with mtl. Ricky Williams back in the day too. Any one who thinks the handful of high end dt and des we’ve brought in this year are all guys who can’t play is nuts. -

The guys in 21 got meaningful reps. Habba barely has this year and no one else. That’s the difference. The 21 roster had to rely on developing new guys. Today we are stuck on old tired vets. how many cfl pr cuts changed teams at all? This is a particular problem in the league with not doing a good job of scouting talent, not a lack of talent. brandin Bryant played 8 games here and wasn’t on the roster next year. That next year he played 1 game with mtl. He’s now been on 6 nfl rosters and played more nfl games than cfl. But no one wanted him for parts of 2 seasons here. -

They talked a bit about that process in this or last camps interviews though idr all the details. No question they talk. It’s mos decision at the end of the day, how that relationship is we can only speculate. I think we will see one way or another in the off season. If walters resigns it can’t be bad right? Knowing the amount of time that goes into scouting a guy like deng, over multiple years no less and holding his nl for a year to cut him in what a week and a couple days? No matter how it went down walters can’t be happy. league has given up Zach collaros for dead too tho… We’ve seen lots of guys get picked up, mbt for instance, and teams don’t scout domestically nearly as well as they used to. Who was the last tc cut rb to get picked up by a team league wide? Only happens if the team had been scouting the guy prior and didn’t get or gave up his nl. if you think salima isn’t in the league because he can’t play you’ve lost the plot. Ricky ray was drivin truck given up for dead when he signed with Edmonton. Ringmaiden really hurt to lose. That said we’ve brought in lots and lots of blue chip imp prospects this year. Hardly any have seen the field. Who is bcs front runner for Roy? They’ve come up but I don’t think that loss crippled us. -

And maybe no one in the pipe line, ford about it. coaches run the roster in virtually every league and level. Walters and the front office are always working on scouting and recruiting. -
I don’t think it’s possible for mos to have or lose the locker room. He doesn’t go in it at all and leaves it to the vets. The question is does mos’ vets have the locker room. Clearly I don’t think they have the high level of responsibility and extreme ownership that they had previously. That does reflect poorly on mos though I don’t think he eats blame for it.

Same. The tc cuts too. Probably this. Tbh idc if it’s ignorance apathy stupidity complacency or w/e else. Figure out why the tire went flat after you fix it, and prevent it from re occurring. But first just fix it. Pr expands. At the end of the season the guys on the pr revert to free agency. If we assume every player cut in the last two years is indeed worse than the players we’ve kept, by means of character or who knows what, we are still left with a fundamentally flawed roster with no nose tackle, a group of small undersized dts where one Canadian starter is beyond done, no depth guys who can cover WRs, and no run stoppers. We don’t even have an extra ni teams guy, or holder. We still have an American fb who can’t cover catch run or play d. We have no guys to plug in if an imp db goes down, if an imp wr or Brady goes down we rely on gmc and guys who haven’t played. If Sergio gets hurt we have no options. We didn’t sign any nfl guys, or make any trades to address it either. If I had to guess, I’d say we suffer from a disconnect between what mos views as roster needs and what walters views as roster needs. mos doesn’t give af about rookies once the season begins. Guys aren’t drawing in unless we have no option. He over values intangibles over every thing else. I think he’d rather lose with guys he likes than win with guys he doesn’t. Schmuckle alone disproves the notion that we are cutting guys who don’t belong. -

https://3downnation.com/2023/10/04/opinion-lions-vernon-adams-jr-should-be-m-o-p-frontrunner-entering-deciding-matchup/ it begins lol. Vaj hasn’t complete 30 passes once this year he has 4 games with 1td or less. 5 game with as many picks as tds including the big ol 6 pick game. Of his 3 best performances 1 game was a loss and another was a near collapse. 4 games under 300 passing. And they didn’t miss a beat with out him winning both games by a combined 47-9. He’s been sacked 30 times this year. Zach also hasn’t completed 39 passes in a game. He has 3 games with 1 td or less. He has 4 games with as many picks as ints. Including the pick 6 games. Zach has 8 games under 300 this year. And we also failed ok with our Zach. Zach has been sacked 24 times kelly hasn’t completed more than 23 passes this year. He has 7 games with 1 td or less. He has 6 games with as many picks as tds. He has 9 games under 300. Though he does have 8 rushing tds. Kelly has been sacked 9 times this year. if you swapped vaj and Kelly, both teams would have the same record. If you swapped collaros onto tor or bc, they would at worst be as good. Toronto I think would be much better. Vaj on the bombers would be comparable, Kelly I think would be screwed. None of these guys are markedly better, or deserving of a mop award. The real mop is Brady or defence -

What a stupid ass group to cut. Why did schmitz stay soo long? wtf with cutting burtenshaw deng swaray and Agudosi? Machino and Schmekel stay? Over those guys? Our roster management is cancer, and the culture of the team is no longer enough to over come it. Hands down would’ve been more valuable as a di on teams play alone than Parker was or Jackson entirely. We don’t need an imp wr, and it doesn’t make sense to have a 30 yo rookie back up on the pr, but his tool kit on teams could’ve over come that. And if that’s the case cut him 10 weeks ago. -
Won’t hurt for sure. But we need better play calls that don’t get away from the run, target guys like lawler, etc.
-
We’ve been able to put drives together for the most part but we’ve had uncharacteristic struggles to score tds in the red zone when we need it.

Jackson isn’t even pr worthy but hes played how many games? Haha I’d actually laugh soo hard if they nominated him. cflpa all star too! At this point I’d be surprised if we saw more than one guy added to the pr before the play offs now. We have many of the pieces on hand to fix our roster (or fox it) though I can’t imagine that walters is happy not assign any thing.
