  1. Yeah damn it Mike, it’s your fault entirely that the local reporting industry is failing to do its job! As soon as you’re done taking your vacation time to leave work, (dont bother with the family you would normally commit that to they aren’t important) go and scout camp then fill in for the failed reporters, report to each emergency room and start working on knocking down that lead time. Then any other system that has failed you and led to complaints will need to be fixed. Too much to expect accountability and professionalism with in the respective industries the onus is on the people let down to fix every thing!
  2. If only some sort of media existed to report on such events, that could really be a key part of sports.
  3. At this point we have week 1 question marks for starting roster jobs at dt, de, lber, 2-3dbs, 1-2ol, kr, wr and possibly db. With ba, biggie, neuf, and Brady all banged up. Even Demski too. Despite all that we get 1 written article, and 2 videos that are all player interview fluff pieces. I’m just waiting to find out some one important isn’t even at camp again.
  4. That’s true but in that case our qb2 had recent cfl experience in our offence. I think it makes sense to have Streveler run out for at least 1 quarter if not two. Get experience behind the buck playbook running some base packages, maybe work with the first team guys and get re familiarized with the league. I wonder if we will see any designed qb option / runs. I expect Strevy to play 1-2 quarters in the first game and 1 tops in the second. Zach takes half plus a drive usually. Rookies probably close out the game. Can’t freaking wait.
  5. Yep. Should be limited to pretty much the last Canadian on the roster as a dressed coach and limited use guy. First ni off the active roster. we have a dl coach and I can’t see game teaching pass rush moves or hand work to disengage. Unfortunately it seems like Jake will play till he physically can’t, and will be run out on the field till that happens.
  6. 11 year career with 187 games. That’s 33 going on 40 in football/linemen years. for the 2nd time. He was fringed off the team early on in the mafia era. Which was a bit soon and he had some solid play after. But damn the captain of the old boys club has to go.
  7. Might need a year on the pr
  8. They don’t need to play the same spot to platoon. That would be 2 ni starters with no back up in cover. None of our ni Ss can cover guys directly. If one or both went down it’d be game over.
  9. None that I’ve seen
  10. Ok I’ll shut up. Actually no, we should’ve had that one too. You can have your nickleback
  11. He started because ford wasn’t here. Kramdi isnt going any where, and he’s the ideal guy to have as the back up db and package guy.
  12. All the talk of kick return changes amount to nothing. Bit surprising, think they should’ve tested some option in pre season.
  13. He did good I mean lawler is that kind of guy. Must be insane to be a db in this camp lol. the tug on the jersey could do with out though. the 3 ol, demski, woli, brady, Lawson that’s a strong 7. Plus ford. Lawson is a beast and played great last year. He should be the starter and see the most dt snaps. But we will Jake that all up I’m sure.
  14. The sdsu connections up here are real strong.
  15. Of course. However I see no way that can be done with 10 or 9 starting nis. Look at any imp on our roster. Look at their college experience and athletic numbers. Then ask your self, where would they be drafted as an ni? Or try to find one imp who wouldn’t go in the first round.
  16. I don’t think we will go 10. I think we will stay imp at lber, It’s also possible that if neuf misses a game we could go 3 imp ol. Personally I’d start ford with Kramdi backing up pending tc performances, Lawson, woli, Demski, the 3 no ok unless neuf can’t go. If Brady can’t go I’d flip to an imp rb. Which would likely balance out to 8 Canadian starters pending injury availability. That would likely see Cole at S if ba can’t go wil other wise. Kyrie goes to mac, if ba can’t go then the best imp lber goes at wil. It’ll be tough any way you cut it with either a big drop off starting soo many nis or having soo many guys in new positions. We will likely need to spend more time in camp and pre season developing and trying to make the best of several imps rather than weeding out who stays and who goes. We are going to need imp rookie starter production immediately in the regular season. Which means those rookies need lots of reps in the first half of the pre season games and with the starters in camp. The cuts likely won’t be the hard work this tc.
  17. Yep. Hope Schoen is just a bit tight or some thing, not that his injury from last year is still lingering.
  18. I’m not worried about that with ford. In general with the cfl a slow db developmental path is full tc full year on pr then 2nd tc. After that 2nd tc dbs should be ready. You seldom see imp dbs get more time than that. And having sat in the nfl id have the same expectations for ford as any imp. if he isn’t up to it, he probably wouldn’t ever make it as a starter but with his tool set and passport could be a backup and teams guy still. But I think he’ll be good. Loved what he did in that late season game. We really have a super athletic group of NIs. From Dobson dunking, to ford to the new crop of guys.
  19. Sure a good bit has changed, maybe half as much as the changes we’ve seen to protect the qbs though. If that.
  20. It feels like football at large is throwing random crap at the wall to deal with concussion issues. Rather than having a well thought out multi pronged approach with defined success criteria. If it was a revenue concern you know they would have a much better plan and process implemented. Direct impacts cause concussions for sure. But, change of direction hits and whip effects cause a lot too. Guardian helmets, the new gen helmets, next gen and beyond next gen helmets are all mitigation on a fraction of the causes. Not prevention. It doesn’t matter if you have the 1 piece shoulder pads and helmet or a perfect absorbing piece of future gear. Moving at high speed then being forcefully stopped quickly is terrible on the brain and body. No piece of gear is going to stop your brain sloshing in your skull. What is needed, to start, is a change to the culture of bringing guys down. Technique changes reinforced by rule changes from the grass level on up. Better gear is always good to have, better self protection when it comes to absorbing hits and going to the ground is as big.
  21. It’s either a real good thing that our rookie camp cuts are being picked up or real bad that this is the best the rbs can do. Our camp talent level is extremely good, maybe it’s lazy or maybe they really liked him in scouting previously.
  22. He couldn’t make the argos pr the last two years. They’ve been stacked at lber rotating guys who are hands down better. good is the enemy of great. League isn’t lacking for mlbers either.
  23. Nailed it. And his career is top 5 ish all time. Maybe the best lber skill set ever up here
  24. They arent. Biggie eating a block doesn't generate pressure, little on being critical to it. We've used nose tackles, twists, cheetah fronts and db blitzes to far greater result.
  25. It isn't hard to do if your Lbers aren't preforming. Lbers have the smallest impact on defensive performance in the CFL. It's a passing league with a huge field. The best defensive weapon is rushing the passer. The next best is coverage. Lbers plug up lanes, scrape to the ball and close gaps. Defensive points allowed is also dependent on a lot of factors. The biggest two are offensive TOP and offensive points scored. The more points you score, the earlier the game goes into cruise control. When the O scores a major on the first 4 possessions constantly the defense gets a much easier job to do. IF you think the attitude towards biggie is new, you must've missed the grey cup. The biggest reasons he struggled last year were health (now hes still hurt or hurt again) and role/lack of a nose (hes looking at the same role and probably not a nose tackle again.)
