yeah, he honestly looks like a big LS, more than an OL. When you look at him next to big stan its staggering. Yeah, we kept trying to slide him out to make up for the gap. I look forward to seeing what richmond can do in camp, but the thing will always be can he stay healthy. I thought Vanterpool was going to be a longer term project, but they might be bringing him in to fight for a spot.

Yep. Honestly nuef had 1 good game at tackle in relief, I believe it was vs edm. They literally just bullrushed him every snap and he played like a guard. The next week was a different story. Last year hardrick was like a guard stuck out at tackle. Some teams exploited it, other teams failed to. Yoshi also seemed to regain the weight he originally cut since the GC wins. I get it, that can be hard to keep off for a guy like him, at that age, with his history. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at his biggest in ssk.

Some of it was, but how much of the heavily improved run success that OTT enjoyed was him? Not just in play but in setting the tone too. Would brady have had great success in edmonton? We can't really know. I tend to think he would have some success but demski wouldve been moc then. Whose deal is worse? I'm honestly torn, but I'd probably lean to desjarlais but not by much.

I was really sad to lose the talent, but honestly was and still am torn over that pay day. We needed that grit and nastiness a lot last year. I still think hes the best guard head and shoulders above the rest, just on a worse ol now on a team that had no qb consistency. But, if I could go back in time and it was up to me to give him that money or lose him, I have no idea what the right move would be. But I probably let him walk and still lament it.

I agree. I would also add that the change to RT will also help him. The less hits collaros takes the better he performs. This is universally true with qbs, but soo much more so with collaros. A comfortable collaros can make scoring a TD on every drive look easy. An un comfortable collaros looks like hes gonna snap and soon retire.

I think that is why we see soo much OL talent for sure in the NI pool. However, because of literally decades upon decades of over valuing NI ol, that has become a deeper and deeper talent pool. To the point the top NI ol every year are NFL bound. And not just 1 or 2 guys, but many gets are getting camp invites, priority FA deals, and nfl draft picks.

Idk. I think you can hide a guard pretty easy with a good ol. I also think guard and rb have a lot in common. While OL are much higher demand, Guard is easily the lowest demand and easiest to fill OL spot. Both over achieve their position by a considerable margin. I do think a G is worth more than a RB, and I think those are maybe the 2 guys in the league you should be happiest to over pay.
-
If youre going to over pay some one, and if they aren't a qb, let it be a young starting NI. IF all the reported numbers are correct, is bradys deal better than desjarlais? 256k last year. Both very young, top of their position NIs. Desjarlais was universally panned here and league wide. But if your biggest over pay is a young NI starter you are in decent shape. Better than giving out 300k to a new wr every year. Or the buckets of money dropped on MBT.

Every league, every level has RB valued very low because of the ability to plug and play another guy at all times. I think you are under rating the value that the game plan, and blockers have had on our success. You plug in Brown, or really most of the other top 10 backs in the league you don't see a dip in rushing yards. You might not have the ability to grind out the clock, or block, or pass catch etc. But the rb talent pool is what it is.

They drive the field all the way down to the bus and ride off laughing. He could take a 100k hair cut and still be making a ton while making this easier for the team. Didn’t he do this one before too? Given the amount of tax loop restructuring deals for high dollar Americans this off season it’s very possibly.
-
Who would you rather replace, Dalton or Brady? Who is easier to replace? We’ve got a lot of holes on D, mean while we have a ton of money in our top 5 on off. No one wanted to lose Brady or dalton. But even more so no one wants to see us in a position where we keep getting worse on the field and have less and less room to improve the situation. We will see in the next couple weeks how that all shakes down. It doesn’t require insider information to talk about the market for RBs. And other teams offers aren’t really important. If he turned down more cash that’s cool for him staying but doesn’t change any thing. If we offered a ton more than any one else that sucks but he likely wasn’t signing off a lot less.

I don’t put much stock in any thing farhan says. Seems higher than I’d expect. Will wait and see the hard/soft numbers eventually. I hope with Brady back that we commit to splitting Carries and use him wisely. Use a di change of pace back for 7/8 touches a game and don’t have 90% of our runs in the first 6 minutes and last 10.

Riders get jameer Thurman, for 40k ish more than he made last year lol. Must be the mace effect -
Yeah too long. I’d love it if we also look at a beefy imp power back or two. Run rb by committee would guy or two who can return and pass catch and a guy who can punish defences block etc. grant is such a beast. I’ve always wanted to see the bench be a body weight bench for each guy as well. Be damn hard to find a 300lbs lineman who is as proportionally strong. That’d be like a 380+ bench reppped 22 times for one of our ol.
