that might be true, but that does nothing for selling those specific 150 shirts. I honestly don't think it's a big deal, but I could see the league taking issue with it, because it was their idea, and really how hard is it to wear a simple shirt for 1 game to commemorate canada and a league legend
-
I didn't even notice that. Well then I think the league should come down hard on the stamps and suspend Mitchell, Messam and McDaniels for 1 game (July 13th) to team them a lesson!
-
Interesting observation going on over at RF - Jones and Trestman didn't wear those Adidas shirts with the legend on the back and the 150 like every other coach did. Anyone think it should be a fine like the Mic'd up issue last year? With Adidas putting their name on the shirts, they are likely hoping to sell those shirts and this was meant for promotional purpose. Not good to piss off a corporate sponsor imo

I dunno how this matches up to others around the NBA but 33.33m a year seems like a redonkulous amount for not even your #1 player (DeRozan) **edit just to compare I found this list from 2016-2017 1. LeBron James - $30.96m T-2. DeMar DeRozan - $26.54m T-2. Mike Conley - $26.54m T2. Kevin Durant - $26.54m T-2. James Harden - $26.54m T-2 Al Horford - $26.54m T-2 Russel Westbrook - $26.54m 8. Dirk Nowitzki - $25m 9. Carmelo Anthony - $24.55m 10. Damian Lillard - $24.3M Steph Curry wasn't even in the top 25 last year, but is set to make $34m this year I don't think lowry should be anywhere close to these guys

hate to say it but with yet another loss like this...

sure if you wanna play the "what if's" but realistically we gave them at least an automatic 3 points making that punt from the end zone which is more than the 2. at least with the ball on their end they would have to work a hell of a lot harder to get that 7, not just 2 plays and bam TD. hell even giving up a FG + the safety was less than the fairly easy TD they ended up with. Medlock was averaging 65 yards a kick off. so even if he starts at his own 25, that is on average kicking it to the opposing 20 yard line. Morris averaged about 27 yards per return so was likely going to be stopped around his own 47, almost 20 yards shorter than where they started that drive (assuming we didn't come flying down the field to make the stop sooner). it likely would have taken them 2 first downs just to get into FG range. I think I'd play those odds vs what we did. But that's just me. I understand the point you're making, and can see it's validity, I just don't agree with it
-
At the time of this kick (3 mins left in the 2nd) our ST coverage was pretty good at that point. Medlock still would have gotten to kick off the ball, so saying it would be 15-20 yards difference is being overly generous. I believe up to that point the best return they had after a kick was maybe 5-10 yards. It wasn't until later in the game Greg Morris started breaking out some decent returns. Riders started that drive on the Winnipeg 43, we'll have to agree to disagree if you believe giving up 2 is worse than allowing a team to start on yourside of the field
-
I see it the other way, if Medlock had a big wind behind him then kicking it makes a little more sense. but giving the riders instant FG range instead of just conceding 2 points makes less sense. I dunno it is what it is, but the riders capitalized on it pretty easily and I didn't and still don't like the call
-
We made that punt from our end zone with 3 mins left in the 2nd and punted it 38 yards putting sask in field goal range instantly. Even if the plan was to hold them to that FG, why give up 3 instead of 2 when your only down 7 (score was 10-3 prior to the TD)
-
As happy as I am we won, I can't get that decision to punt out of our endzone out of my head vs taking a knee and giving up 2 (it lead to the drive where Bakari Grant scored). Medlocks been doing well as a punter, but giving up that field position was a mistake all day every day IMO. The score was a lot more flattering to the riders then it should have been

That backwards TD by Washington was awesome. What does it say about how bad the Riders secondary is when a receiver can literally stutter step backwards like 5+ yards untouched

Looking Ahead: Winnipeg Vs Calgary
Taynted_Fayth replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I hope we'll defend better against Hugh Charles than Ottawa did. He might not have racked up the sack tally, but he was up in Harris' face both games. I noticed Nichols doing a weird move last night... He would take the snap, and instead of drop back, he would do this little spin move that looked very awkward and bad habit-ish. That's very likely to be the difference in getting the ball away and getting sacked when facing a better pass rush then the riders -
I know many of us are still basking in the euphoria of the win last night, but it's onward and upward from here on. Up next, arguably one of the best teams in the league. What's it going to take to win? Last year I think we played relatively well against them, and I believe that was against a healthier Stamps team then they currently are. Are there things Ottawa did to exploit Calgary a bit to have such close games that we can capitalize on? One of the most notable things I recall from the back to back Ottawa games, was how pedestrian Taylor Reed made Messam look. I know Hurl had a good game last night, but can he do the same? I also noticed BLM pressured a lot more then usual. How does our DL measure up against the Stamps OL?
-
I thought it was very similar to last year, player for half a game (in this case 2nd and 3rd quarter) and go (maybe a little too) conservative the other 2 quarters. The biggest difference I saw last night was based on the Oline. At times it looked like Nichols had enough time to have a drink, scratch his ass and high five Harris. On those plays he looked crisp with his throws and accurate. What happened to our Oline in the 4th quarter is beyond me.
-
My dad, as the usual negative nelly he was, was ready to call it quits when the bombers were down 10-0 and watch the Yankees/Astros game. I figured we would have trouble with the crowd and the team feeding off it early, and the game plan was literally just to play conservative ball and keep it close, which for the most part I suppose the did. But I do think there was some rust showing. Harris appeared to not have his legs under him for most of the first half, either slipping on the field, leaving his feet before contact with a defender..etc He was a lot more clutch later in the game but by that point we were pretty far ahead
-
could you imagine if he nails that 61 yarder last year? the guy woulda become an urban legend with the kick being longer and longer each time it was told to future generation about one of the greatest kickers the bombers ever had lol
-
Can't wait to sign Demski in the offseason...
-
did anyone else find the irony that Roc looked like he was playing rock paper scissors all night, and always chose...rock
-
True, but the only reason he was playing was because Johnson was hurt. I was actually surprised Fogg wasn't ahead of him, but I guess maybe because he was pegged to do returns, they wanted both positions played with fresh legs. In anycase if Carmichael is starting next week, I expect Mitchell to pick on him as well
-
was he the one to recover the fumble as well a few mins into the 3rd to set up that easy to dressler? I think the real only DB that struggled today, and struggled badly was Carmichael, but as I said in the babble chat, he was only playing because Johnson was hurt. Once B Johnson returns I don't expect the roc to see the field anymore
-
Grant apparently gets credit for 1 rush at 10 yards, but yeah 7 attempts for 11 yards by Marshall (1.6 yard average) I haven't seen that kind of run stoppage since the great Ricky Williams got schooled at Canad Inns
-
I'd go with 1. Dressler 2. Medlock 3. Hurl - did a bang up job stopping the run, and even got a pick Honourable Mention goes to my get well soon card I sent to Bruce Johnson
-
oh my **** Loffler wins player of the game just for that drive by showing of him with the mullet and headband. absolutely epic
-
I had a weird dream last night the bombers got pasted by the alouettes and because of that I had to take Dressler to fun mountain to cheer him up. Considering I don't like fun mountain I'll chalk that dream up as a nightmare

ive been catching what I assume is old TNA shows here and there lately. I was watching a hardcore match with Raven and Abyss fighting with thumb tacks everywhere. IMHO there could still be a big market for that ECW type stuff. If WWE doesn't want to go down that road any more and with ECW now defunct, it would be as good of time as ever for a company to run with that style again. I think fans of the old ECW would appreciate it too vs the candy coated crap fed to us by WWE on the norm
