  1. Clutchinson is showing some decline in the stats but the W is the most important stat and this was a good team win coming back like that twice in the third. I sure hope Perrault and Stafford aren't out long. If they are out for any length of time, Chevy will be moving Calvert or Winnik (going by Lawless) in. I'd give up a 3rd in 2016 for Calvert. When his contract expires after the season he is a RFA and he will get you 30ish points a year. He just turned 25 and is from Brandon. His current contract is paying him 987.5k this year. Winnik, on the other hand, will get  you 30ish points a year, is an UFA at the end of this season and turns 30 this year. He is making 1.3 this year. I'd give TO a 4th rounder in 2016 for Winnik and I don't think you would get him for that. I think if Gagliardi is playing on your 4th line (team) there is a problem; however, he played well tonight. Best I have seen him play.

On a side note, I haevn't seen Buff come out of a fair hit on the losing side once this year. What a behemoth. It looks like he is in high school and everyone else is in kindergarten. How much is it going to take to keep Buff and how long? 7.5 for 5 years? Would love to see him paired up with Chiarot for a full season and see what he can do.

  2. With the start of trade season thought I would start a thread to have all nhl trade talk in one spot. Chevy started on Tuesday pulling off a blockbuster. Today the Preds equipped themselves to take a deep run.

Preds sure paid a lot for those players, wow.

  3. Enstrom is key to our defence and despite any single pass you can p oint out is arguably the best passer on the team Trouba is very good and clears the zone too. Trouba makes the fewest mistakes of our D. Enstrom gets major minutes from Maurice for a reason. I have to admit though, do not like him paired with Buff. Besides, when he is paired with Myers, it is so easy to tell them apart!

Great comeback last night and I just wish I had the chance to watch more games. Clutchinson played a pretty good game and I think he outplayed Howard. The Jets have the best D in the league right now even if Ben and Stuart didn't see much ice time last night. I wonder if Trouba signs a bridge contract or goes straight for the big contract. If I'm Chevy I sign him as long as I can, throw 7-7.5 at Buff and Ladd has to get at least 6? I heard Chevy say that we'll probably see Armia before the season is over.

  4. Dead weight? Kane and Bogo were dead weight? Wow, Chevy sure got a lot for some dead weight!

Who isn't giving up a top 6? Make the trade with someone out of the playoffs. Carolina? Edmonton? There's a lot of teams not making the playoffs this year that would love to have a first round pick in this year's draft with the leadership of Stuart and Fro as well as the right s to Burmi....like I said, throw in Postma too.....What I suggested is not enough for Eberle? Edmonton needs help on D and will be moving players... good players. TO is supposed to be in the market to for trades as is Arizona. Am I not offering enough?

I love the fact that the NHL is back in town and we can have these debates and I absolutely love the way the Jets are building a team.

  5. Chevy would also be sending the message that he wants people signed and not going into the offseason wondering what Fro is going to do. I stand by what I said earlier, if he doesn't sign, wrap him up in another deal and get a top 6 with some contract left. Chevy has as much as said he isn't done dealing if the right deal comes along....he is looking for a top 9 everyone says, I would be looking for  a top 6. I am not calling down Fro here, I like what he adds to the team. He has to be signed to play tho.

Chevy has some $$ to spend and where better to spend it than a player that helps us into the playoffs as a top 6? Even if it takes a bit more of what i said above. Burmi, 1st rounder from sabres, Fro, Stuart and a 2nd in 2016? This is supposed to be a really deep draft so that 1st from Buffalo is nothing to sneeze at. ****, give them Postma too.

Also, 4.5 to 5.5 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for Fro and Chevy will never give him that much.

Here is a link to salaries and term and cap hit...

  6. I don't believe in keeping players if they aren't going to stay with the team...same as rentals, unless you are close to winning the cup. If Fro isn't going to be here next year, trade him for whatever you can get for him.

Wrap him up in a package for a top 6 forward? Fro, Stuart, Burmi and a 1st for a young top 6? As stated above, Fro is a good 3rd liner and I think he is really good on the PK. I wouldn't over pay and I wouldn't let him walk without something in return. Now, if you are close to signing him and think it will happen, by all means keep him as he will help us make the playoffs and then in the playoffs.

Hoping Armia will crack the top 6 in a couple of years but he should be a shoe in for a 3rd liner as Lemieux would be a 3rd liner. Petan in the middle of Armia/Perrault and Lemieux in 2 to 3 years? Schief, Ehlers and Armia/Perrault The above mentioned trade for a top 6 winger would have to go somewhere too. Lowry would center Komaschuk and ???.

I REALLY like our D pairings right now although I will like it better with Morrissey on the team. Paying Myers half of what he is worth makes him affordable on the D.

  7. If Smail had hands he would have been a 40+ goal scorer.

I'd offer Frolik 4.3 and 4.5 for a two year contract. If he doesn't like it, I would trade him before the deadline.

Both Myers and Stafford seem to llike the atmosphere here and Myers commented about how they expected a hard game whenever they played against the Jets. He said he liked the way the Jets play the game and how it feels good to be part of that that the satndards are higher here.

Stafford mentioned how nice it was to be in a game with that atmosphere to it and how every game counts from here on in and how he missed that.

Mats Zucarello would be a guy I would target in free agency if you could sign him for 3 years at 14 million or so. I would also see how much Glencross would want for 3 years to leave Calgary. If he would play for 11 million or so, I would sign him.

  8. Kudos to Chevy for getting this much in the trade. Armia and Lemieux and a first plus Stafford for Kane and Boga and Kasdorf for Myers?

Haha, what a steal. If Stafford re-signs in Winnipeg, this is almost a fleecing. Kane is going to have to put up BIG numbers and Bogo is going to have to play injury free and mega minutes for this deal to look good from Buffalo's side.

Hopefully, chevy has one more smaller deal to make before the deadline.

  9. Petan just making the team next year would be fine with me. Same with Ehlers.

I think they are counting on Morrissey to make the team next year so some decision are going to have to be made on D.

I still say trading Stuart is the way to go. Hate to lose a leader but you have to give to get.

Stuart and a 3rd rounder for a half decent winger?

Komaschuk is a -22 but almost everyone on the team is a minus.

Wait until draft day to move Kane and get the most you can.

We aren't winning the cup this year but making the playoffs and getting that experience is vital. Chevy knows he is a couple of years away from being in the playoffs consistently and he isn't going to give away a player like Kane for 2 players that will be gone in no time.

We need help on the 3rd and 4th line but where's it going to come from?

  10.

    Pardy Enstrom

    That's a cup contender

    Say what?

Ok pardy chiarot as our third

Still a cup contender with buff and trouba

Can you honestly see Chevy dealing all that for an UFA after this year and an UFA after next year????

Do you honestly believe that line up with our two goalies with all their playoff experience are cup contenders????

You can also argue that Schiefele isn't a 2nd line center yet.

I really like the trade with Van for Horvat and the 1st and McCann.

I'd trade McCann and a D for a winger for immediate help if it is done before the deadline and as mentioned above, Horvat is a much better center than Lowry and having him in the organization would be a bonus. Little, Schiefele, Horvat, Petan as our centers looks nice to me.

    trouba morrissey

    buff     chiarot

    bogo   enstrom

    ladd little wheeler

    perrault schief fro

    lowry horvat komaschuk

    ehlers petan lipon

    hutch hellebuyck

I really like the looks of this lineup not counting what else Chevy will add to it.
