Clitsome is signed for 1 more year at 2.067 m...
-
I like him to but someone has to go, no?
Especially if Morrissey makes the team next year.
Buff, Myers, Trouba, Enstrom, Chiarot, Postma, Stuart, Harrison, Clitsome and Harrison......Pardy is an UFA.
That's 10 D men not counting the farm like Ellerby and Kitchton.
Postma, Ellerby and Chiarot are all RFAs after this year and I can't see them letting Postma and Chiarot walk for nothing.
Better to re-sign them even if you are going to trade them but who knows.
I wouldn't trade any of the first 4 and Stuart will get you the most of the remaining 6 not counting Morrissey.
-
ya Buff and Stuart is a pretty ridiculous comparison.
-
Where would we be without Pavs play the last 6 starts?
-
Well then we should trade Scheifele, Trouba and Little as they would get mote than Stuart too.
On a side note, Armia has 0 goals in 14 games on the farm.....he won't be making the parent club playing like that.
-
I said in general...you are talking about a 2-3 year period of hockey.
How is it you remember the Flyers but can't remember Nicholls, Leeman, Christian or Larson?
-
Im not saying players shouldn't wear helmets but there was (in general) a lot more respect between players and the sticks weren't as high as what they have been in the last 15 or so years. There weren't as many headshots either.
-
He won't trade Stuart but you have said he should trade Buff?
ya, ok.
-
6 straight wins and people are pissed that he is "glaring" at his D men?
Wow, what does he have to do to get some respect?
-
I am not being a smartass but why would someone want Minny to win?
If Calgary wins, they are still behind us and would knock LA down below us.
LA plays Minny on Saturday and if LA wins and we beat Chitown on Sunday, we have the 1st wildcard spot.
Minny can't keep this up forever...........can they?
-
Chiarot is a very good 3rd pairing D man....Stuart is here for his leadership but I would trade him in the off season.
Stafford and Perrault interchangeable????????? Stafford is nowhere near the guy MP is on the PP and MP also has way better hands.

Copp that is^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If the Jets hadn't signed him, he would be eligible to go back into the draft this year....this is why he was signed.
-
Maurice said it might be Trouba moving to the left side and there is no reason to break up the Wheeler-Scheifele-Stafford line.
-
Maurice talking today about moving a right D man to the left side to make sure everyone gets the minutes.... tells me they have no plans to move any of the 3 RH D men....good news if you ask me.

Slater 1.6 and Thorbs 1.2 per.
Slater UFA and Thorbs 2 more years.
Said it before and I'll say it again, I would offer Slater a job with the organization at the end of the year. He has been a very good employee and should be rewarded after his playing time is done.

Stafford and Myers were traded b4 the deadline In the kane deal.
ya i know but he is a UFA after this season.
-
Maurice's first interview on the subject related the story that Chevy told him if things didnt turn around, they'd deal assets and get younger, the implication being some of the veterans on the team. I took it to mean that Chevy was "warning" Maurice that they had a long term view.
The second interview noted the conversation with Chevy again and I believe Maurice said something like "who knows, we might be getting younger next season". He further said something to the effect of "I know that's not what guys like Ladd or Buff might want to hear because they are right in that age when they want to win now but we do want to win now but we have a draft and develop plan." he further went on to talk about how they were buyers at the deadline.
He was essentially saying that the plan hasnt changed. Draft & develop. What happens in the short terms dictates whether they go all-in on waiting for the future or make moves to compete now (like they did this year).
not how i interpreted the 2nd interview...wish i cud find it.
-
Stafford wasn't bought?
There is no guarantee he signs with us next year.
-
Maurice
Then again if this team doesn't make the playoffs, it's possible we see some bigger changes
Maurice reiterated recently his earlier claim that when meeting with Chevy to discuss the job offer last year, Chevy said if the team didnt turn around they would be shipping out some guys and "getting younger".
He said if the team hadn't made the playoffs or weren't in contention, they would be dealing assets and getting younger...they were buyers this deadline, which is what they wanted to be, so you would think he won't be wanting to get younger. Looking for the interview but I can't find it...

Staff Scheif Wheeler
Ladd Little Frolik
Ehlers Lowry Perreault
STEmp O'Dell Thorburn
Maurice also recently said they might be younger next year so older guys like slater stemp Pardy Harrison may not be in the plans
You don't see Armia making the team next year?
-
In no order:
Stafford?-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ladd-Little-Perrault
Frolik?-Lowry-Stempniak?
Thorbs(Ehlers?)-O'Dell-Armia
Buff-Chiarot
Myers-Enstrom
Trouba-Morrissey
Pavelec-Hutchinson
Stuart, Peluso and Thorbs/Ehlers as hanger arounders...
I forgot about Postma!!!!!!!
-
I just started a new post and our lineups are similar....imagine that.
