  1. A player from the CHL has to either turn 20 by December 31st of the season (ie a player born in 1987 can start playing in the 2007-08 season, a player born in 1988 can start playing in the 2008-09 season etc.) OR have completed 4 seasons of junior eligibility. This agreement also covers European players if they are drafted out of the CHL. Also - CHL players are eligible to play in the AHL once their junior season is over (either by virtue of their junior team not making the playoffs or being eliminated from the playoffs) even if they don't yet meet the age or eligibility criteria listed above.

College players and European players (provided they are drafted out of Europe--even if they later play in the CHL) are not covered by this agreement. They only have to abide by the AHL's age requirement, which is that a player has to turn 18 by September 15 of any given season to be eligible to play. While you won't see many 18-year olds in the AHL, some European players have played at that age.

  2. Glad nobody on this board is the GM...

Who is going to replace their leadership ? Points? Nobody we have right now will replace them.

You sign these heart and soul players, you don't trade them.

I don't disagree that the players you mentioned are the future of the team but we need Ladd and Buff's points and leadership and nobody we have can replace them....my opinion.

  3.

    Lol. Bandwagon fans

I must have missed where people jumped off the bandwagon.

"I hope true north hasn't written any cheques with all that playoff money. Jets need a miracle to get in now. They basically have to play well above what they've shown all year. No reason for that to happen.

Looking forward to doubling our odds of seeing playoffs hockey next season. Go moose."

  4. Buff isn´t going anywhere, he is the heart and soul of this team....

I would highly doubt Ladd is going anywhere either. He is always one of the top point getters on the team.

No way Frolik deserves 5 a year....4 is pushihng it.

don´t mean to rub it in but i am in Vinales, Cuba and it is 29 C before the humidity and beer is 95 cents a beer.....

  5. He isn't going to sign here or Chevy doesn't want him? Maybe Chevy is still pissssed about him leaving? We do need a winger though. I just hate giving something away for a guy that might leave next year. Sabres picking up O'reilly would be huge for them. I would trade for Glencross if he re-signed.

  6. On 1290 someone told H and L that the asking price for Vermette is a 1st and a good prospect.

    pfffffft ... pass.

he was on waivers 2 years ago.

we need a forward to play on the 2nd line.

trade a pick or two and a D man like Pardy, Stuart and/or Harrison for one.

What about a 1st or 2nd and Armia for a good 2nd line LW with some time on his contract? A 4.5 - 5 or so a year guy.

  7. Chevy will be working the phones of Perrault and/or Stafford are out for any length of time. And Perrault was in a walking boot

Armia gets a call up I guess. But jets are in tough with only six guys they can reasonably play for any length of time

a walking boot is not good.....someone will be coming in.
