You'd be wrong. He was big boring and positional strong. Flaherty is ruining him.

He's not a very good goalie if his goalie coach is ruining him this quickly. He is a young, inconsistent goalie, admit it and move on. He will get better. Everything is the coaches with you.

Pavs stands on his head for a period and Jets set a franchise record for shots in a period and it was something like Pav was ok. Letting in 3 isn't really that great. He's getting goal support tho. Guess what? Helle played a good game last night but not great. 41 shots is very misleading because they weren't high quality shots. Guess what? He got goal support too. I looked at the one goal, can't remember which, he was almost identical spot in the crease as Pavs was on the breakaway maybe a touch deeper...Pavs fault for being too far in the net though (even though he wasn't)...Until Chitown fell asleep and we got two quick ones, I thought this was another L and not good looking going into the ASG break. He did play well though. So did their goalie not counting 3 minutes of the game.

    Outcome of the game...

    Goalie's 2nd Law

If the Jets win and Helle isn't in net, no kudos to the goaltender ever.

If the Jets win and Helle is in net, goaltending won the game.

If the Jets lose and Helle is in net, it was the Jets fault because they played poorly in front of him.

If the Jets lose and Helle isn't in net, it is always the goaltenders fault.

I really wonder if you actually watch the games.  Scheif is not a great defensive forward... he's getting better but not in Wheeler and Little's league.

But sure, fancy stats mean nothing - quick someone call the NHL and tell them

who said fancy stats mean nothing?

lying or changing facts does not help your debating skills or lack thereof.

Fancy stats would say that Wheeler is our best defensive forward... best all-around forward...

leading our Corsi even strength, leading Corsi shorthanded, E+/- is by far the best on Jets...

More reason not to trust them....as Goalie stated, he is poor defensively in the D zone...Scheif is better. To be honest I don't care, he isn't Drew Stafford poor and he puts up points and busts his ass every shift of every game.

I think Maurice like Little and Laine together and let's not forget, they said they would be trying different forwards with different centers before the season started.

I was just browsing the stats and The Jets have 4 guys in the top 30 points wise (Scheif tied for 8th, Ehlers, Laine and Wheeler). Buff is on the list also, but not in the top 30 and is the 5th best point producing D man behind Burns, Karlsson,Hedman and Shattenkirk (1 more point than Buff). Helle has the exact same save percentage as Henrik Lundqvist, 907 which is below league average for sure but... 5 guys in the top 40 scoring and a goalie with the almost exact same GAA and exactly the same save percentage as a pretty damn good goalie and we are this bad?

It's actually somewhat mind boggling... PP and PK really killing us it seems. D zone play also.

Man, the Metro ran a nice article today about Maurice tho didn't it? anyone see it?

You are comparing him to a goalie that is having the worst year of his career. He still has five more wins than Helle.

Relating to the symptoms?  I've been popped many times.  The last time I foolishly took multiple chair shots to the skull, my symptoms were ferocious.  I was very sick for a few days.

    afraid to ask?

I've had a chair broken over my head and was in bed for 10 days...this was 2nd diagnosed concussion.

It's not that different and fancy stars are great but the don't tell the whole story.

I agree. They are a tool, for lack of better a word, to use in evaluation.

I didn't call Buff a dumpster fire.  Maybe you misunderstood.

I called Stuart and Enstrom dumpster fires.

Enstrom is top 5 in CF%...no way Myers, Howden, or Melchiori should be considered with the handful of games they have played.....having said that, his game has really struggled this season. He's quite often making mistakes that he rarely used to. He's not getting the positioning he used to on players either.

If Chevy signs Alzner and Morrissey keeps progressing, Enstrom can sign for 1.75m x 2 years and play 3rd pairing minutes (12 minutes) unless someone is ready to step up by then. If Chevy doesn't address the LHD and really the 3rd pairing this off-season, he should be tarred and feathered.

Alzner and Greiss Chevy, we know you are reading this...

For the most part when college guys go the FA route it's to play closer to home.

For Poolman the closest city to home for him is Winnipeg

This is a guy who has come to all our Development camps... who has said he stayed at ND because 1. His dad is part of the staff and 2. His brother started playing there this year. He is not some bright lights big city kid... he's a prairie kid from Grand Forks.

I think its 95 percent likely he signs here.

    Like who?

Vesey didn't sign with Boston...neither did Hayes.

    Tanev didn't sign with TO.

    Schultz didn't sign with Vancouver...

Krug and Bozak didn't sign with their home town teams.

Danny DeKeyser signed with Detroit so I can give you that one.

edit .. I agree he probably signs here but money will play a BIG role in it.
