  1. I think Maurice is watching Helle's confidence and erring on the side of safety when it comes to giving him games right now. How would he take the Blues coming out and putting 3 behind him quickly? If they do it to Pavs, he's seen it many times!!!!! Besides, he isn't here next year anyway. The more I think of it the more I like the move to start Pavs. Give Helle one or both of the next two games in Dallas and Colorado.

Come back from the road trip and give Pavs the Wild and two days later Helle agains the Hawks in the first game of a b2b.......decide who plays TB the nexy night based on play (TB is in Minny the night before). What I'm saying is, to help Helle build his confidence, give him the games you think you have the best chance to win and the Hawks because he seems tohave their number. (He could very well be facing this team in the playoffs more than once in his career).

The Jets are 3-4-1 in their last 8 games which have all been aginst conference rivals and so are the next 5 counting tonight. The last 6 of these 13 games are agains central division rivals. It's an important stretch of the schedule.

Oh please it's too early to start tanking. I didn't start the disaster game titles last season until....looks it up and return 2 minutes later...okay, game 52 last year. So, I guess it is time to start tanking!

Just kidding. There's only like 2 guys worth drafting this year are there not? We had a good 3 or 4 prime picks at the point last year we were talking about.

Seems like we were out of it though after the all-star game a year ago :(

We were out of it by December. The Central is the weakest division in the league this year. I can't believe that if we win tomorrow, we could be 1 point out of a playoff spot. I think Maurice didn't want that pressure on Helle and he will get an easier game like Dallas and/or the Avs and then play Pavs against the Wild.

  3. Probably doens't want to put any more pressure on Helle...what if he came out and let in 3 quick goals again? Helle probably getting the next start. Having said all that, if I were the coach, I would have given Helle the start.

Also, Helle should have had some competition and not really annointed the starter. I don't think Pavs or Hutch are the right goalies to give him that. He had a pretty good season last year but he did nothing to say he should have been the starter this year. He had every right to fight for it but Hutch isn't much competition. It'll be interesting to see what Chevy does about the goalie situation after the season is over. Should have taken a quick look at Comrie.

  4. Okay Floyd (or anyone) you have to help me out here, serious question....I am looking at Corsi CF% and looked up the definition and it shows Trouba with a lower % than Buff, Enstrom, Morrissey and Myers. I see how they get there numbers by taking shots for divided by shots for plus shots against. Does this mean Trouba is poorer defensively or not as strong offensively or a bit of both?

I also notice that the Fenwick and Corsi numbers are close on all D but Myers who has a lower Fenwick number. Does this indicate that a lot of his shots get blocked?

Trouba still can't just leave. How many more RFa years does he have? Two after this contract? So he either signs another two years and walks to embraces playing here. Thing is Jets won the staring contest this season so trouba is unlikely to sit out again if the Jets offer him a reasonable deal.

I think trouba bites the billet and signs for 6-8 years. He's already essentially 1D. And buff isn't getting any younger.

He can file for salary arbitration and then the team gets to pick one or two years and they will pick one year. The same thing the next year he won't sign any contract offered and then he can file for salary arbitration and he'll only have one year left of restricted free agency. This is a worst case scenario.

So with max 23 players on the club that leaves 7 players on the side? What to do with them?

I can see deals where Chevy might say something like, take Matthias (ex.) and we will trade you a 3rd and Lipon (ex.) for a 5th. They need to stock a farm team too. They should take Stu and send him down to mentor on the farm and eventually moving up!

edit ... they can also trade a player they draft can't they? Draft de Haan (ex.) and trade him to us for Petan and Armia (ex.).

  7. The Las Vegas franchise must select one player from each presently existing club for a total of 30 players.

The Las Vegas franchise must select the following number of players at each position: 14 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.

The Las Vegas franchise must select a minimum of 20 players who are under contract for the 2017-18 season.

I believe they will have the same odds as the 3rd team in the lottery.

  8. Trouba has been our best D man this year. I think maybe Morrissey has been more consistent game in and game out but Trouba is our best D man. Get Tyler on the ice and on the PP scoring goals and trade him before the expansion draft, preferably at the TD, for a young expansion draft exempt LHD (if before the expansion draft) .

He makes 4m this year and 3.5m and 3m the next two years so this has got to be attractive to some teams?  I wouldn't mind seeing a deal between AZ and the Jets with Chychrun and Myers the main pieces.
